A DESIGN FOR ENVIRONMENT METHODOLOGY FOR EVALUATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF DERIVATIVE CONSUMER ELECTRONIC PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Increasing environmental awareness and stringent environmental regulations have motivated many companies to incorporate ecodesign into product development. To assist companies to address the challenge, this research presents a design for environment （DfE） methodology to evaluate and improve derivative consumer electronic product development using a back-propagation neural network （BPNN） model and a technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution （TOPSIS） method. Based on use of a BPNN, the life cycle assessment （LCA） models are developed to estimate quantities of hazardous chemical substances and energy consumption for a derivative consumer electronic product throughout the product life cycle. A performance evaluation and improvement model for DfE is then devised based on the TOPSIS method to analyze the ecodesign performance and provide concrete improvement strategies. With the aforementioned analysis of environmental performance, an enterprise can profoundly understand and significantly enhance the relative DfE performance of a new product compared to the similar competitive products. Finally, we apply an optical mouse development project as a case to elaborate and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. These analytical results can let us understand the DfE performance ranking and acquire the maximum reduced quantity of each DfE criterion for each module of a new product. Meanwhile, to enhance the green competitiveness of the new product, we recommend that the engineers should decrease the area of the circuit board of the new product. In addition, the material of the USB cable for the new product should be switched from the PVC material to the PE material.

Towards Evaluating the Robustness of Adversarial Attacks Against Image Scaling Transformation

The robustness of adversarial examples to image scaling transformation is usually ignored when most existing adversarial attacks are proposed. In contrast, image scaling is often the first step of the model to transfer various sizes of input images into fixed ones. We evaluate the impact of image scaling on the robustness of adversarial examples applied to image classification *** set up an image scaling system to provide a basis for robustness evaluation and conduct experiments in different situations to explore the relationship between image scaling and the robustness of adversarial examples. Experiment results show that various scaling algorithms have a similar impact on the robustness of adversarial examples,but the scaling ratio significantly impacts it.

Geometry of Motion for Video Shakiness Detection

This paper presents a novel algorithm for automatically detecting global shakiness in casual videos. Per-frame amplitude is computed by the geometry of motion, based on the kinematic model defined by inter-frame geometric transformations. Inspired by motion perception, we investigate the just-noticeable amplitude of shaky motion perceived by the human visual system. Then, we use the thresholding contrast strategy on the statistics of per-frame amplitudes to determine the occurrence of perceived shakiness. For testing the detection accuracy, a dataset of video clips is constructed with manual shakiness label as the ground truth. The experiments demonstrate that our algorithm can obtain good detection accuracy that is in concordance with subjective judgement on the videos in the dataset.

Enhancing of nominal characteristic trajectory following control for motion systems

The goal of this paper is to enhance a practical nominal characteristic trajectory following(NCTF) controller that is specifically designed for two-mass point-to-point positioning systems. A nominal characteristics trajectory contained in the NCTF controller acts as movement/motion reference and a compensator is utilized to force the object to detect and follow the reference/desired trajectory. The object must follow and track closely and should be as fast as possible. The NCTF controller is designed with two different intelligent based compensator approaches which are fuzzy logic and extended minimal resource allocation network. The proposed controller which is NCTF are compared with the conventional proportional integral compensator. Then the results of simulation are discussed for the positioning performances. The inertia variations due to the effect of the design parameters are also assessed to see the robustness of controllers. The results show that the NCTF control method designed from an intelligent based compensator has a better positioning performance in terms of percentage of overshoot, settling time, and steady state error than the classical based compensator.

Medium effect on dielectric relaxation behaviors of 4A zeolite bulk dispersion system

Dielectric spectra of 4A zeolite particles bulked in deionized water（4A/W） or cyclohexane（4A/C） were measured respectively under different temperatures, and two dielectric relaxations were found in both of 4A/W and 4A/C. Because of existence of water molecules in pores, both low and high frequency relaxation times（t LFR and t HFR） of 4A/W decreased more sharply than 4A/C with increasing *** to the temperature dependence of t LFR and t HFR, the activation energies of Na＋interacting with framework under hydrated and dehydrated environments were calculated respectively, and the original properties of Na＋in dehydrated zeolite were obtained by analyzing the dielectric properties of 4A/***, a transient state of Na＋motion with temperature was found in 4A/C system.

Scale-Invariance Exists in the Series of Character Intervals in the Four Great Chinese Novels

The scale-invariance behavior has been widely observed in English or other phonetic language texts. In the present study, we examine whether the semantic language, Chinese can also show this behavior. Typically, the scale-invariance behavior is examined in the series of character intervals for the four great Chinese novels by a method of detrended fluctuation analysis. We observe that the scale-invariance behavior characterized by a scaling exponent around 0.60 exists in each novel. Moreover, we divide each novel into three parts with equal number of chapters, and we also observe the existence of scale-invariance in the interval series for each part. Interestingly, we find that there is evident difference in the scaling exponents between the first(or second) part and the third part in the novel of A dream of red mansions, and the difference between parts is not evident for the other three novels. Our observation suggests that there are two writing styles in A dream of red mansions, which are consistent with current prevailing view that the first 80 chapters and the last 40 chapters were accomplished by Xueqin Cao and E Gao, respectively. Our method may shed light on the identification of writing styles in written texts.

Inevitability and Emergent Problems of Science &technology Innovation Access to Integration

The causes and the problems of integration of scientific ＆ technical innovation （ISTI） and inevitability are proposed. The status of domestic scientific ＆ technical innovation is analysed. A series of emergent managerial problems caused by the system ISTI （SISTI） are pointed out. Because of Hall three dimensions structure＇s enlightenment, a three dimensional logical net diagram in which the system integration of innovation based on problem in real world but not on disciplinary logic is drawn. The intelligent group＇ s need span is greater under the conditions of relatively low material level than common groups who have lower degree of education. The SISTI is composed by multi-rule and intelligent multi-agent behavior. It is concluded that the logical relationships of integrated technology which based on the author＇s experience and observation must be considerded for a valid management of SISTI.

Mobile user forecast and power-law acceleration invariance of scale-free networks

This paper studies and predicts the number growth of China＇s mobile users by using the power-law regression. We find that the number growth of the mobile users follows a power law. Motivated by the data on the evolution of the mobile users, we consider scenarios of self-organization of accelerating growth networks into scale-free structures and propose a directed network model, in which the nodes grow following a power-law acceleration. The expressions for the transient and the stationary average degree distributions are obtained by using the Poisson process. This result shows that the model generates appropriate power-law connectivity distributions. Therefore, we find a power-law acceleration invariance of the scale-free networks. The numerical simulations of the models agree with the analytical results well.

Emissions and deposit properties from combustion of wood pellet with magnesium additives

This work studies the amount of gaseous and particle emissions and deposits on heat exchanger surfaces in a boiler firedwith commercially available pellets and with pellets primed with magnesium oxide and magnesium *** combustionexperiments were performed on a residential boiler of 20 *** placed in the heat exchanger was analysed with SEM-EDX-mapping to evaluate the chemical composition of the *** results show that particle emissions(PM 2.5)using the additivesincreased by about 50%and the mass of the deposits in the flue gas heat exchanger(excluding loose fly ash)increased by about25%compared to the combustion of pellets without *** amount of additives was found to be eight times higher than theamount of the main alkali metals potassium(K)and sodium(Na)which leads to the assumption that the additives were overdosedand therefore caused the problems *** SEM analysis of the substrates placed in the flue gas heat exchanger indicate that thedeposits of sodium(Na),potassium(K),chlorine(Cl)and sulphur(S)decrease using the *** this was due to theexpected chemical reactions or due to the loose fly ash covering the substrates after the test,could not be determined in this study.

A Class of New Special Solution of Nonlinear Diffusion Equation

One of the most interesting problems of nonlinear differential equations is the construction of partial solutions. A new method is presented in this paper to seek special solutions of nonlinear diffusion equations. This method is based on seeking suitable function to satisfy Bernolli equation. Many new special solutions are obtained.
