Mechanistic insight into the synergy between nickel single atoms and nanoparticles on N-doped carbon for electroreduction of CO2

The synergy of single atoms （SAs） and nanoparticles （NPs） has demonstrated great potential in promoting the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction （CO2RR）;however,the rationalization of the SAs/NPs proportion remains one challenge for the catalyst ***,a Ni2+-loaded porous poly（ionic liquids）(PIL) precursor synthesized through the free radical self-polymerization of the ionic liquid monomer,1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium chloride,was pyrolyzed to prepare the Ni,N co-doped carbon materials,in which the proportion of Ni SAs and NPs could be facilely modulated by controlling the annealing *** catalyst Ni-NC-1000 with a moderate proportion of Ni SAs and NPs exhibited high efficiency in the electrocatalytic conversion of CO2into *** Ni K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure （XANES） spectra and theoretical calculations were conducted to gain insight into the synergy of Ni SAs and *** charge transfer from Ni NPs to the surrounding carbon layer and then to the Ni SAs resulted in the electron-enriched Ni SAs active *** the electroreduction of CO2,the coexistence of Ni SAs and NPs strengthened the CO2activation and the affinity towards the key intermediate of*COOH,lowering the free energy for the potential-determining*CO2→*COOH step,and therefore promoted the catalysis efficiency.

Free vibration and transient response of double curved beams connected by intermediate straight beams

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure. Subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

The development of flexible supercapacitors(FSCs) capable of operating at high temperatures is crucial for expanding the application areas and operating conditions of supercapacitors. Gel polymer electrolytes and electrode materials stand as two key components that significantly impact the efficacy of hightemperature-tolerant FSCs(HT-FSCs). They should not only exhibit high electrochemical performance and excellent flexibility, but also withstand intense thermal stress. Considerable efforts have been devoted to enhancing their thermal stability while maintaining high electrochemical and mechanical performance. In this review, the fundamentals of HT-FSCs are outlined. A comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art progress and achievements in HT-FSCs, with a focus on thermally stable gel polymer electrolytes and electrode materials is provided. Finally, challenges and future perspectives regarding HT-FSCs are discussed, alongside strategies for elevating operational temperatures and *** review offers both theoretical foundations and practical guidelines for designing and manufacturing HT-FSCs, further promoting their widespread adoption across diverse fields.

Integration of Electrical Properties and Polarization Loss Modulation on Atomic Fe–N‑RGO for Boosting Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

Developing effective strategies to regulate graphene’s conduction loss and polarization has become a key to expanding its application in the electromagnetic wave absorption(EMWA)*** on the unique energy band structure of graphene,regulating its bandgap and electrical properties by introducing heteroatoms is considered a feasible ***,metal-nitrogen doping reduced graphene oxide(M–N-RGO)was prepared by embedding a series of single metal atoms M–N_(4) sites(M=Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Nb,Cd,and Sn)in RGO using an N-coordination atom-assisted *** composites had adjustable conductivity and polarization to optimize dielectric loss and impedance matching for efficient EMWA *** results showed that the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of Fe–N-RGO reaches−74.05 dB(2.0 mm)and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB_(max))is 7.05 GHz(1.89 mm)even with a low filler loading of only 1 wt%.Combined with X-ray absorption spectra(XAFS),atomic force microscopy,and density functional theory calculation analysis,the Fe–N_(4) can be used as the polarization center to increase dipole polarization,interface polarization and defect-induced polarization due to d-p orbital hybridization and structural ***,electron migration within the Fe further leads to conduction loss,thereby synergistically promoting energy *** study demonstrates the effectiveness of metal-nitrogen doping in regulating the graphene′s dielectric properties,which provides an important basis for further investigation of the loss mechanism.

Surface-effect on detection ability of fluorescent Eu(btc)metal-organic frameworks to metal ions

Eu(btc)metal organic frameworks(MOFs)were prepared by co-precipitation method via 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acids(H3btc)connecting with Eu^(3+)ions,and the morphology was controlled from compact spherical to irregular honeycomb by adjusting the pH of reaction *** luminescence properties of Eu(btc)MOFs are found to be related to the surface morphology of products,and the compact spherical one performs stronger emission *** sensing ability of Eu(btc)MOFs to 11 kinds of metal ions was investigated and a prominent quenching effect occurrs in Fe^(3+),or Ni^(2+)*** on UV—vis absorption analysis,an“ion-fence”model presents the competition to absorb exciting light between Eu(btc)MOFs and adsorbed metal *** on Stern-Volmer equation,the Eu(btc)detection is found with higher Ksv value and a lower detection ***,a higher sensing efficiency is confirmed in the Eu(btc)MOFs with loose honeycomb due to aggravating porous surface offering much more sites for metal ions.

A PROXIMAL POINT ALGORITHM FOR A SYSTEM OF GENERALIZED MIXED VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES

This paper introduces and considers a new system of generalized mixed variational inequal- ities in a Hilbert space, which includes many new and known systems of variational inequalities and generalized variational inequalities as special cases. By using the two concepts of η-subdifferential and η-proximal mappings of a proper function, the authors try to demonstrate that the system of generalized mixed variational inequalities is equivalence with a fixed point problem. By applying the equivalence, a new and innovative η-proximal point algorithm for finding approximate solutions of the system of generalized mixed variational inequalities will be suggested and analyzed. The authors also study the convergence analysis of the new iterative method under much weaker conditions. The results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of the previously known results for variational inequalities.

Ba3LaNa(PO4)3F:Tm^3+,Dy^3+:A tunable blue-white color emitting phosphor via energy transfer for UV white LEDs

A series of Tm^3+/Dy^3+co-doped Ba3 LaNa(PO4)3 F(BLNPF) phosphors were synthesized successfully via a high-temperature solid-reaction,and luminescence properties were *** near violet excitation,BLNPF:Tm^3+,Dy^3+ phosphors exhibit Tm^3+:^1D2-^3 F4 and Dy^3+:^4 F(9/2)-^6 HJ(J=15/2,13/2,11/2)transitions with diffe rent luminescence *** emitting color of the obtained products was found to shift from blue to white as a result of efficient energy transfer(ET) from Tm^3+to Dy^3+*** to photoluminescence emission intensity,the positive effect of activator on ET efficiency was calculated and the maximum ET efficiency was found around 72.6% with Dy^3+ concentration was *** means of Dexter's theoretical model,furthermore,dipole-dipole interaction was confirmed as the mechanism of energy transfer from Tm^3+ to Dy^3+ *** results suggested that BLNPF:Tm^3+,Dy^3+ phosphor might be a promising single-phased white-light-emitting phosphor for UV white-light LED.

Hawking radiation from the dilaton-(anti) de Sitter black hole via covariant anomaly

Adopting the anomaly cancellation method, initiated by Robinson and Wilczek recently, this paper discusses Hawking radiation from the dilaton-（anti） de Sitter black hole. To save the underlying gauge and general covariance, it introduces covariant fluxes of gauge and energy-momentum tensor to cancel the gauge and gravitational anomalies. The result shows that the introduced compensating fluxes are equivalent to those of a 2-dimensional blackbody radiation at Hawking temperature with appropriate chemical potential.
