Omega-3 fatty acids found in some foods have a wide-range of health benefits. The omega-3 supplementation results in higher antioxidant activity in human seminal fluid and enhanced sperm count, sperm motility, and sperm morphology. Considerable number of infertile men with idiopathic oligoasthenoteratozoospermia might be benefit from omega-3 fatty acids administration.

In December 2017,a decomposed unidentified body was found near the river Tronto in Teramo,*** corpse was found without any identifying documents or specific personal belongings,except for a packet of *** medical examiner determined a gastric perforation from the intake of hydrochloric acid to be the cause of death.A jar of muriatic acid found near the body led to suicide being considered the manner of *** Penal Court in Teramo appointed two forensic odontologists to complete the postmortem assessment and collect dental data for personal *** corpse was found wearing a complete set of upper and lower *** dental autopsy and 42 periapical X-ray images helped generate a biological profile of a man totally edentulous with upper and lower dentures,as well as an osteosynthesis with two plates and screws in the left ascending ramus of the *** March 2018,the sister of a missing person reported the disappearance of her brother,and a presumptive identification was performed through visual recognition of the decomposed *** sister confirmed the presence of two dentures and the location of the maxillo-facial surgery for the treatment of the fractured mandible.A complete dental autopsy was able to establish his identity without any DNA comparison *** case highlights the importance of performing a complete dental autopsy inclusive of dental radiographs,and its value in the identification of all unknown human remains even when totally edentulous.A complete dental autopsy should be performed in all cases of human identification.

Objective: To assess the safety and efficacy of herbal formulation rich in standardized fenugreek seed extract(IND-2) add-on therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients who were on insulin treatment in prospective, single arm, open-label, uncontrolled, multicentre ***: T2DM patients(n=30) with aged 18-80 years who were stabilized on insulin treatment with fasting blood sugar(FBS) level between 100-140 mg/dL received IND-2 capsules(700 mg, thrice a day) for 16 *** primary endpoints were an assessment of FBS at week 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 and *** end-points include post-prandial blood sugar level, glycosylated Hb(HbA1c), reduction in the dose of insulin and number of hypoglycemic attacks, and improvement in lipid profile at various *** and adverse events(AEs) were also assessed during the ***: Study was completed in twenty T2DM patients, and there was no significant reduction in FBS and post-prandial blood sugar level after addon therapy of ***, add-on therapy of IND-2 significantly reduced(P<0.01) the HbA1c values, requirements of insulin and hypoglycemic events as compared with *** cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins-cholesterol, and low-density lipoproteincholesterol levels were significantly increased(P<0.01) after IND-2 add-on *** weight and safety outcomes did not differ significantly in IND-2 add-on therapy group at week ***, add-on therapy of IND-2 did not produce any serious adverse ***: The results of present investigation suggest that add-on therapy of IND-2 with insulin in T2DM patients improves glycaemic control through a decrease in levels of HbA1c and number of insulin doses needed per day without an increase in body weight and risk of ***, IND-2 may provide a safe and well-tolerated add-on therapy option for the management of T2DM.

Family characteristics on self-reported toothache among Indonesian children aged 12-14 years

Objective： Toothache was reported as a reason for school absenteeism, sleeping difficulties, loss of appetite, and seeking dental treatment among children. These represented some impacts of dental problems on health, quality of life, and socioeconomic problems. The aims of this study were to describe the prevalence of toothache among 12-14-year-old children in Indonesia and their family characteristics and to analyze the associations of family characteristics on the toothache. Methods： We analyzed the data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey 5 in 2014-2015. A total of 2,377 children aged 12-14 years were included in this survey. This age is the early stage of eruption of all permanent teeth. Children were asked about their experience on toothache in the last 4 weeks as a dependent variable. The independent variables were the family socioeconomic characteristics including father＇s and mother＇s highest educational level, family income, and the number of children in the family. A logistic regression was applied to analyze the relationship of family characteristics with toothache experience of children. Results： Toothache experience was reported from 13.9% of the respondents. Descriptive statistics showed that higher percentages of toothache were experienced by male children and children from family with lower parental education and economic position as well as from bigger family. However, logistic regression showed that only the number of children in the family had a statistically positive association with self-reported toothache of the children. Children living in the family with more than four children were more likely reported toothache than living in the family with one or two children （P=0.012; odds ratio [OR] = 1.53）. Children living with more siblings may experience less attention from their parents on oral health hygiene. Poor oral health habits could result in dental pain. AIM: To review evidence supporting pharmacological treatments for treatment-resistant depression(TRD) and to discuss them according to personal clinical ***: Original studies, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses addressing pharmacological treatment for TRD in adult patients published from 1990 to 2013 were identified by data base queries(Pub Med, Google Scholar e Quertle Searches) using terms: "treatment resistant depression", "treatment refractory depression", "partial response depression", "non responder depression", "optimization strategy", "switching strategy", "combination strategy", "augmentation strategy", selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors antidepressants(SSRI), tricyclic antidepressants(TCA), serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors antidepressants, mirtazapine, mianserine, bupropione, monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressant(MAOI), lithium, thyroid hormones, second generation antipsychotics(SGA), dopamine agonists, lamotrigine, psychostimulants, dextromethorphan, dextrorphan, ketamine, omega-3 fatty acids, S-adenosil-L-metionine, methylfolat, pindolol, sex steroids, glucocorticoid agents. Other citations of interest were further identified from references reported in the accessed articles. Selected publications were grouped by treatment strategy:(1) switching from an ineffective antidepressant(AD) to a new AD from a similar or different class;(2) combining the current AD regimen with a second AD from a different class; and(3) augmenting the current AD regimen with a second agent not thought to be an antidepressant ***: Switching from a TCA to another TCA provides only a modest advantage(response rate 9%-27%), while switching from a SSRI to another SSRI is more advantageous(response rate up to 75%). AIM:To evaluate the results and complications of secondary endoresection via pars plana vitrectomy for choroidal melanoma and review the previously reported endoresection studies on the treatment of choroidal ***:The medical records of 6 patients with choroidal melanoma who underwent secondary endoresection between March 2012 and March 2020 were retrospectively *** indications for secondary endoresection were progressive or recurrent tumor and severe exudative retinal detachment after previous treatment with plaque radiotherapy/Cyberknife radiosurgery/transpupillary thermotherapy(TTT).RESULTS:Before endoresection,2 eyes had Iodine-125 plaque radiotherapy and TTT,1 eye had Ruthenium-106 plaque radiotherapy and TTT,1 eye had Cyberknife radiosurgery and TTT,1 eye had Cyberknife radiosurgery,and 1 eye had TTT *** visual acuity ranged from 20/63 to 20/1600(Snellen) and from 0.5 to 1.9(mean:1.1) on the log MAR *** mean tumor base diameters were 9.5×8.7 mm and the mean tumor thickness was 5.4 *** secondary endoresection,transient vitreous hemorrhage developed in 2(33.3%) eyes and retinal detachment in 1(16.7%) *** examination revealed epithelioid cell melanoma in 4(66.7%) eyes and mixed cell melanoma in 1(16.7%).Melanoma cell type was not specified in 1(16.7%) *** a mean follow-up of 49.6 mo(range:16-90 mo),mean visual acuity did not improve and 1 eye was enucleated due to tumor *** visual acuity ranged from 20/63 to 20/1600(Snellen) and from 0.5 to 1.9(mean:1.2) on the log MAR *** patients with choroidal melanoma developed metastasis and eventually ***:Secondary endoresection seems to be an effective treatment option for globe salvage in choroidal melanoma not responsive to conventional treatment and displaying persistent exudative retinal *** was no visual acuity increase among the treated eyes but globe salvage was possible in most cases in this study.

Objective:To evaluate the level of salivary Mutatis streptococci(MS) after rinsing with xylitol, fluoride,and a combination of xylitol and fluoride solutions,compared with distilled water. Reactive oxygen species are the intermediates that are formed during the normal metabolic process which are effectively neutralized by the antioxidant system of the *** imbalance in this neutralization process causes oxidative stress which has been implicated as one of the cause in diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, cardiovascular disorders, cancer etc. Research has enabled the use of antioxidants as therapeutic agents in the treatment of various diseases. Literature also puts forth the negative effects of using antioxidants in the treatment of diseases.
