Update on pathogenesis and predictors of response of therapeutic strategies used in inflammatory bowel disease

The search for biomarkers that characterize specific aspects of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD), has received substantial interest in the past years and is moving forward rapidly with the help of modern technologies. Nevertheless, there is a direct demand to identify adequate biomarkers for predicting and evaluating therapeutic response to different therapies. In this subset, pharmacogenetics deserves more attention as part of the endeavor to provide personalized medicine. The ultimate goal in this area is the adjustment of medication for a patient's specific genetic background and thereby to improve drug efficacy and safety rates. The aim of the following review is to utilize the latest knowledge on immunopathogenesis of IBD and update the findings on the field of Immunology and Genetics, to evaluate the response to the different therapies. In the present article, more than 400 publications were reviewed but finally 287 included based on design, reproducibility(or expectancy to be reproducible and translationable into humans) or already measured in humans. A few testshave shown clinical applicability. Other, i.e., genetic associations for the different therapies in IBD have not yet shown consistent or robust results. In the close future it is anticipated that this, cellular and genetic material, as well as the determination of biomarkers will be implemented in an integrated molecular diagnostic and prognostic approach to manage IBD patients.

We present an approach to control a semi-autonomous robot team remotely under low bandwidth conditions with a single operator. Our approach utilises virtual reality and autonomous robots to create an immersive user interface for multi-robot control. This saves a big amount of bandwidth, just because there is no need to transfer a constant steam of camera images. The virtual environment for control only has to be transferred once to the control station and only has to be updated when the map is out of date. Also, the camera position can easily be changed in virtual reality for more overview on the robots situation. The parts of this approach can easily be transferred to applications on earth e.g. for semi-autonomous robots in hazardous areas or under water applications.

On the basis of a state-of-the-art aberration-corrected transmission electron microscope, the spherical aberration coefficient CSof the objective lens can be tuned to either a positive or a negative value. The use of a negative value of CS combined with an overfocus setting of the objective lens leads to the development of the negative CSimaging（NCSI） technique. Images obtained using the NCSI technique show superior contrast and signal intensity at atomic column positions than the corresponding positive CSimages, especially for weakly scattering oxygen columns that are in close proximity to strongly scattering cation columns in oxides. Based on the images obtained under the NCSI condition, quantification of the image contrast allows measurements of the atom positions with a precision of a few picometers and the local chemistry on atomic scale. In the present review, we discuss firstly the benefits of the NCSI technique in studies of oxide materials,and then show a procedure for quantitative analysis of the image based on the absolute value of contrast. In the last part,examples are given for the application of the quantitative high-resolution transmission electron microscopy（HRTEM） to the study of electric dipoles of oxide ferroelectrics and atomic-scale chemistry of interfaces.

＜正＞The quality demands placed on rolled products in the field of bars and wire rod call for a microstructure and mechanical properties in modern manufacture, which are optimally oriented to the use of the finished rolled stock and/or its further processing. Key elements for the future success of the above rolling technologies in practical operation - and hence their impact on any downstream processes - is an offline simulation of the upstream rolling process in the quality management. Expert systems needed for this purpose have over the recent years been developed by SMS Meer gmbh, Monchengladbach, Germany especially for bar and rod *** paper presents an overview regarding the new generation of the CCT （Controlled Cooling Technology）-system with material database, microstructure simulation and calculation of stress strain *** mills in Europe, USA and Asia that are successfully using this system will be presented along with their products. For different steel groups this present paper describes and also gives results of the process technologies applicable according to the state-of-the-art rolling mill technology.

Compliance and Tolerance of a New High Protein and High Energy Oral Nutritional Supplement in Older Adults

Background and objectives Volume,caloric density,and timing of administration influence compliance to oral nutritional supplements(ONS).The provision of high energy,high protein and low volume ONS may allow easy achievement of intakes considered effective in improving nutritional *** report the evaluation of a new low volume,energy dense ONS in older *** and study design Two open-label studies,each including 20 older adults(75±4 and 76±5 years)in residential *** received one bottle(125 ml,400 kcal,20 g protein)of the new ONS daily,either as a single or multiple dose(3×40 ml/~400 kcal)for 7 *** outcome was gastrointestinal(GI)tolerance;additional parameters of interest were palatability and compliance(ratio of consumed *** volume).Data were evaluated *** All participants completed the studies and reported good *** symptoms were comparable before first and after last ingestion,55%and 65%(single and multiple dose regimens)did not report any GI *** consumed 96%and 94%of the prescribed volume,***,smell and appearance were rated as“good”or“excellent”on both days of recording(day 1 and day 7)by 75-90%of the participants in both *** A high energy,high protein ONS delivered in a small volume was well tolerated and accepted in older adults,with excellent compliance,independent of the delivery as single or multiple ***,this new ONS represents a clinically valuable option for high compliance to nutritional therapy.

Increasing model variety, more vehicle customization and shorter innovation cycles have a strong impact on productivity and quality. The number of platforms and body types are permanently increasing inside a plant, leading to high tool and set-up costs in the body in white section of the factory. Moreover, as legislation sets mandatory emission reduction targets for new cars and trucks, new lightweight design strategies for the "Body-in White"（BIW） need to be found like ultra-high tensile materials with important springback and load optimized design of parts leading to complex geometries. Often parts of the BIW belong to a family differing only in a single geometrical parameter like overall length or width, or even only in material thickness. Hence,the companies tend to replace manufacturing processes like press forming due to their lack of flexibility by other more flexible production methods. We present a new manufacturing system using the sheet metal roll forming process to overcome many of these challenges. Traditional roll forming lines only produce parts with constant cross sections. A new 3D roll forming line for complex structural automotive parts opens new ways for production. It also gives more flexibility and higher product *** this study, an overview is given for possible families of parts being produced with this new production technique. The basic machine concept and its current application is shown.
