To address the limitations of contemporary lithium-ion batteries,particularly their low energy density and safety concerns,all-solid-state lithium batteries equipped with solid-state electrolytes have been identified as an up-and-coming *** the various SEs,organic–inorganic composite solid electrolytes(OICSEs)that combine the advantages of both polymer and inorganic materials demonstrate promising potential for large-scale ***,OICSEs still face many challenges in practical applications,such as low ionic conductivity and poor interfacial stability,which severely limit their *** review provides a comprehensive overview of recent research advancements in ***,the influence of inorganic fillers on the main functional parameters of OICSEs,including ionic conductivity,Li+transfer number,mechanical strength,electrochemical stability,electronic conductivity,and thermal stability are systematically *** lithium-ion conduction mechanism of OICSE is thoroughly analyzed and concluded from the microscopic ***,the classic inorganic filler types,including both inert and active fillers,are categorized with special emphasis on the relationship between inorganic filler structure design and the electrochemical performance of ***,the advanced characterization techniques relevant to OICSEs are summarized,and the challenges and perspectives on the future development of OICSEs are also highlighted for constructing superior ASSLBs.

Experimental and theoretical analyses of package-on-package structure under three-point bending loading

High density packaging is developing toward miniaturization and integration, which causes many difficulties in designing, manufacturing, and reliability testing. Package-on-Package （POP） is a promising three-dimensional high- density packaging method that integrates a chip scale package （CSP） in the top package and a fine-pitch ball grid array （FBGA） in the bottom package. In this paper, in-situ scanning electron microscopy （SEM） observation is carried out to detect the deformation and damage of the PoP structure under three-point bending loading. The results indicate that the cracks occur in the die of the top package, then cause the crack deflection and bridging in the die attaching layer. Furthermore, the mechanical principles are used to analyse the cracking process of the PoP structure based on the multi-layer laminating hypothesis and the theoretical analysis results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.

Mathematical solutions predict abstract conditions that indicate limits or bounds for physical processes. Generally, experimental verifications and physical observations on physical processes validate the mathematical predictions. Sometimes these predictions lead to new theories and concepts that form basis of better understanding of the natural processes. Gravitational interactions between bodies are natural physical processes. A smaller body moves under the influence of gravity, due to the gravitational effect of another large body. Newton’s classical gravitational theory addresses the interactions at low velocities. Einstein’s general relativity provides firm basis for gravitational interactions. Observations over past 100 years prove the mathematical precision and predictions of general relativity. Einstein’s special relativity forms the foundation of quantum physics. In this paper, the author applies concepts of special relativity to classical two body Newtonian gravitational problem. The study predicts a new mathematically viable condition that when a body moves at a specific velocity derived in this paper, the total energy of the moving body is zero. The specific velocity is a constant. At velocities far less than specific velocity, the total energy is negative and is equal to classical value of half the potential energy. At velocities, greater the specific velocity the total energy is positive. The specific velocity condition also enables determination of specific mass of gravitating body, as well as the specific distance of the moving body from gravitating body, at which the total energy of moving body is zero.

Additional Space Dimension in Bound Spaces Created by a Central Object

Space is a common entity in any static or dynamic system of objects whether the system is a bound system or an open system. Space is described by either measured or abstract dimensions. All motions, momentum and energy transfers take place in space in any given system of objects. By understanding space we understand many physical phenomena happening in space. One method is to observe similarities among phenomena, deduce possible relations and validate the relations through known results. De Broglie wavelength for matter waves is a typical theorized abstract dimension existence of which is established through experiments later. In this paper, the author studies two bound spaces in two bound systems, namely, atomic bound systems and gravitationally bound systems. Both these bound systems have similar characteristics;they have inertial masses in motion with constant kinetic energies for a given orbital distance around the respective central object. In atomic bound space, the central object is the central positive charge which plays the role of creating the bound space around it. In gravitationally bound space, it is the central mass that plays the same role. Thus for these two bound systems a common constitutive relation between the energies of inertial masses in kinetic state, their distance from central object could be present. By noticing the similarities of the two systems, the author proposes such a relation through introduction of an additional space dimension. The existence of the proposed additional dimension is proved in this paper by considering hydrogen atom for atomic bound space and by considering any gravitational system for gravitationally bound space. Though the magnitude of the additional space dimension is different in both the situations, the additional space dimension exists. The concept of employing thermoelectric generators(TEGs)to recover energy from waste heat has gained popularity,with applications that range from milliwatt to kilowatt levels of output *** this study,a hybrid photovoltaic panel and thermoelectric generator(HPVTEG)system consisting of an integrated heat exchanger,a commercial polycrystalline silicon photovoltaic(PV)panel and a commercial bismuth telluride TEG was ***,TE components can be used to cool PV modules,increasing their output power via the Seebeck *** main finding is that the hybrid system has a reduced average temperature of 16.01°*** average power of the stand-alone PV panel is 28.06 W,but that of the HPVTEG system is 32.76 W,which is an increase of 4.7 *** conversion efficiency and power of the hybrid system increased by 16.7%and 16.4%,respectively,compared with a stand-alone PV *** HPVTEG system achieved an average exergy efficiency of 12.79%compared with 10.98%for a stand-alone PV *** to the calculation results,the levelized cost of energy(LCOE)of the stand-alone PV panel can range from 0.06741 to 0.10251 US$/kWh depending on how many days it is in operation,while the LCOE of the HPVTEG system can range from 0.06681 to 0.10160 US$/kWh.

This paper presents a quick, easy to implement and versatile way of using stochastic simulations to investigate the power and design of using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays for genome-wide association studies in farm animals. It illustrates the methodology by discussing a small example where 6 experimental designs are considered to analyse the same resource consisting of 6006 animals with pedigree and phenotypic records: (1) genotyping the 30 most widely used sires in the population and all of their progeny (515 animals in total), (2) genotyping the 100 most widely used sires in the population and all of their progeny (1102 animals in total), genotyping respectively (3) 515 and (4) 1102 animals selected randomly or genotyping respectively (5) 515 and (6) 1102 animals from the tails of the phenotypic distribution. Given the resource at hand, designs where the extreme animals are genotyped perform the best, followed by designs selecting animals at random. Designs where sires and their progeny are genotyped perform the worst, as even genotyping the 100 most widely used sires and their progeny is not as powerful of genotyping 515 extreme animals.

Using genetic markers in unpedigreed populations to detect a heritable trait

Before a breeder invests selection pressure on a trait of interest, it needs to be established whether that trait is actually heritable. Some traits may not have been measured widely in pedigreed populations, for example, a disease or deformity may become more prevalent than previously, but is still relatively rare. One approach to detect inheritance would be to screen a commercial population to obtain a sample of "affecteds" (the test group) and to also obtain a random control group. These indi- viduals are then genotyped with a set of genetic markers and the relationships between individuals within each group estimated. If the relatedness is higher in the test group than in the control group, this provides initial evidence for the trait being heritable. A power simulation shows that this approach is feasible with moderate resources.

Jet propulsion technology has been limited to being identified largely with turbojets and turbo-machinery driven jet *** late there has been a renewed interest in pulsejet technology and it has once again caught the imagination of *** specific characteristics of the pulsejet,such as easy scalability,absence of moving parts,reduced combustion temperatures;lower NOX formation and the like make it possess varied capabilities for use in the field of jet propulsion and the most viable option for small-scale jet *** the current work,a numerical analysis encompassing feasibility and validation of a valveless pulsejet engine was attempted using CD-adapco's STAR-CCM+CFD *** to lack of comprehensive established mathematical laws to govern the working of a pulsejet,most experimental work being performed is done by trial and *** necessitates in-depth computational studies in order to shed more light on the understanding of valveless *** results have been encouraging and in agreement with observed experimental conclusions such as,i)changes in dimensions affect the working of a pulsejet,ii)presence of a flare enhances the working of a pulsejet,and the close agreement in the frequency of *** continuous study,an optimum initial condition was achieved which enabled the pulsejet to begin operation even before 0.05 s,thereby greatly reducing computational costs if a higher time-scale were to be used.
