Dietary cooking oils and cardiometabolic measurements in an elderly Chinese population

High-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum beam emitter with an internally sensed optical phased array

The high-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum(OAM)beam has attracted significant attention in a wide range of applications,such as long-distance optical communication,nonlinear frequency conversion,and beam *** beam combining(CBC)of an optical phased array(OPA)can offer a promising solution for both generating the high-power OAM beam and rapidly switching the OAM ***,achieving real-time phase noise locking and formation of desired phase structures in a high-power CBC system faces significant ***,an internal phase-sensing technique was utilized to generate the high-power OAM beam,which effectively mitigated thermal effects and eliminated the need for large optical *** OPA with six elements was employed for experimental *** first effective generation of over 1.5 kW mode-programmable OAM beam in a continuous-wave domain was ***,the results demonstrated that the generated OAM beam could be modulated with multiple *** topological charge can be switched in real time from-1 ***,this OAM beam emitter could function as an OAM beam copier by easily transforming a single OAM beam into an OAM beam *** importantly,a comprehensive analysis was conducted on power scaling,mode switching speed,and expansion of OAM ***,the system’s compact design enabled it to function as a packageable OAM beam *** to the advantages of having high power and programmable modes with multiple dimension modulation in phase structures and intensity distribution,this work can pave the way for producing high-power structured light beams and advancing their applications.

Regional variations in acute coronary syndrome(ACS) management and outcomes have been an enormous public health issue. However, studies have yet to explore how to reduce the variations. The National Chest Pain Center program(NCPCP) is the first nationwide, hospital-based, comprehensive, continuous quality improvement program for improving the quality of care in patients with ACS in China. We evaluated the association of NCPCP and regional variations in ACS healthcare using generalized linear mixed models and interaction analysis. Patients in the Western region had longer onset-to-first medical contact(FMC) time and time stay in non-percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) hospitals, lower rates of PCI for ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) patients, and higher rates of medication *** in Central regions had relatively lower in-hospital mortality and in-hospital heart failure *** in the door-to-balloon time(Dto B) and in-hospital mortality between Western and Eastern regions were less after accreditation(β =-8.82, 95% confidence interval(CI)-14.61 to-3.03;OR = 0.79, 95%CI 0.70 to 0.91). Similar results were found in differences in Dto B time, primary PCI rate for STEMI between Central and Eastern regions. The differences in PCI for higher-risk non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome(NSTE-ACS) patients among different regions had been ***, the differences in medication use between Eastern and Western regions were higher after accreditation. Regional variations remained high in this large cohort of patients with ACS from hospitals participating in the NCPCP in China. More comprehensive interventions and hospital internal system optimizations are needed to further reduce regional variations in the management and outcomes of patients with ACS.

Background There are different definitions to identify/classify children with medical complexity(CMC).We aimed to investigate and describe the definitions used to classify CMC in epidemiological *** PubMed,SciELO,LILACS,and EMBASE were searched from 2015 to 2020(last updated September 15th,2020)for original studies that presented the definition used to classify/identify CMC in the scientific research *** applied the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** the included studies,the following were identified:first author,year of publication,design,population,study period,the definition of CMC used,limitations,and *** Nine hundred and sixty-seven records were identified in the searched databases,and 42 met the inclusion *** the 42 studies included,the four most frequent definitions used in the articles included in this review were classification of CMC into nine diagnostic categories based on the International Classification of Diseases,Ninth Revision(ICD-9)(35.7%,15 articles);update of the previous classification for ICD-10 codes with the inclusion of other conditions in the definition(21.4%,nine articles);definition based on a medical complexity algorithm for classification(16.7%,seven articles);and a risk rating system(7.1%,three articles).Conclusions CMC definitions using diagnostic codes were more ***,several limitations were found in its *** research highlighted the need to improve health information systems to accurately characterize the CMC population and promote the provision of comprehensive care.

To improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of Al-Si-Cu alloy,it was treated by a high-pressure torsion process,and the effect of the deformation degree on the microstructure and properties of the Al-Si-Cu alloy was *** results show that the reinforcements(β-Si andθ-CuAl_(2)phases)of the Al-Si-Cu alloy are dispersed in theα-Al matrix phase with finer phase size after the *** processed samples exhibit grain sizes in the submicron or even nanometer range,which effectively improves the mechanical properties of the *** hardness and strength of the deformed alloy are both significantly raised to 268 HV and 390.04 MPa by 10 turns HPT process,and the fracture morphology shows that the material gradually transits from brittle to plastic before and after *** elements interdiffusion at the interface between the phases has also been effectively *** addition,it is found that the severe plastic deformation at room temperature induces a ternary eutectic reaction,resulting in the formation of ternary Al+Si+CuAl_(2)eutectic.

DEAD-box helicase 17(DDX17)is a typical member of the DEAD-box family with transcriptional cofactor *** DDX17 is abundantly expressed in the myocardium,its role in heart is not fully *** generated cardiomyocyte-specific Ddx17-knockout mice(Ddx17-cKO),cardiomyocyte-specific Ddx17 transgenic mice(Ddx17-Tg),and various models of cardiomyocyte injury and heart failure(HF).DDX17 is downregulated in the myocardium of mouse models of heart failure and cardiomyocyte ***-specific knockout of Ddx17 promotes autophagic flux blockage and cardiomyocyte apoptosis,leading to progressive cardiac dysfunction,maladaptive remodeling and progression to heart *** of DDX17 expression in cardiomyocytes protects cardiac function under pathological *** studies showed that DDX17 can bind to the transcriptional repressor B-cell lymphoma 6(BCL6)and inhibit the expression of dynamin-related protein 1(DRP1).When DDX17 expression is reduced,transcriptional repression of BCL6 is attenuated,leading to increased DRP1 expression and mitochondrial fission,which in turn leads to impaired mitochondrial homeostasis and heart *** also investigated the correlation of DDX17 expression with cardiac function and DRP1 expression in myocardial biopsy samples from patients with heart *** findings suggest that DDX17 protects cardiac function by promoting mitochondrial homeostasis through the BCL6-DRP1 pathway in heart failure.

Objective:To investigate the in vitro antimicrobial potential of extracts of stem,leaves,flowers,pods and seeds of Moringu okifera(***) against Vibrio *** hatchery water and the prawn Mmrobrachium ***:The ethanol extracts of stem,leaves,pods and seeds and chloroform extract of flowers of *** were tested against Vibrio cholerue(***) serogroups non-O1/non-O139(n=4).Vibrio vulnificus(n=l) and Vibrio mimicus(n=1).Escherichia coli(***)(ATCC(?) 25922) was used as quality *** species were obtained from Macmbrachium amazonicum prawns and from hatchery water from prawn *** Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(MIC) was determined by broth microdilution ***:The best result was obtained with the ethanol extract of pods,which inhibited three strains of the ***,Vibrio vulnificus,Vibrio minimis and ***(MIC range 0.312-5.000 mg/mL).The chloroform extract of flowers was effective against all *** strains and ***(MIC range 0.625-1.250 mg/mL).However,the ethanol extracts of stem and seeds showed low effectiveness in inhibiting the bacterial ***:The extracts of pods,flowers and leaves of *** have potential for the control of Vibrio *** studies are necessary to isolate the bioaetive compounds responsible for this antimicrobial activity.

Potential preservative mechanisms of cardiac rehabilitation pathways on endothelial function in coronary heart disease

Cardiac rehabilitation, a comprehensive exercise-based lifestyle and medical management, is effective in decreasing morbidity and improving life quality in patients with coronary heart disease. Endothelial function, an irreplaceable indicator in coronary heart disease progression, is measured by various methods in traditional cardiac rehabilitation pathways, including medicinal treatment, aerobic training, and smoking cessation. Nevertheless, studies on the effect of some emerging cardiac rehabilitation programs on endothelial function are limited. This article briefly reviewed the endothelium-beneficial effects of different cardiac rehabilitation pathways, including exercise training, lifestyle modification and psychological intervention in patients with coronary heart disease, and related experimental models, and summarized both uncovered and potential cellular and molecular mechanisms of the beneficial roles of various cardiac rehabilitation pathways on endothelial function. In exercise training and some lifestyle interventions, the enhanced bioavailability of nitric oxide, increased circulating endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs), and decreased oxidative stress are major contributors to preventing endothelial dysfunction in coronary heart disease. Moreover, the preservation of endothelial-dependent hyperpolarizing factors and inflammatory suppression play roles. On the one hand, to develop more endothelium-protective rehabilitation methods in coronary heart disease, adequately designed and sized randomized multicenter clinical trials should be advanced using standardized cardiac rehabilitation programs and existing assessment methods. On the other hand, additional studies using suitable experimental models are warranted to elucidate the relationship between some new interventions and endothelial protection in both macro-and microvasculature.
