Multifunctional scaffolds with host defense peptides designed for regenerative endodontics are desirable nanobiotechnological tools for ***,different scaffolds were tested for use during the pulp revascularization process,including poly(vinyl alcohol)-PVA hydrogels or resins,collagen hydrogels and poly(vinyl alcohol)PVA/Chitosan(PVA/CS)*** on time to degradation(21 days),nanofibers were chosen to be incorporated with ciprofloxacin and IDR-1002(each at 50 mg/g).Nanofibers containing ciprofloxacin and IDR-1002 had anti-biofilm activity against Enterococcus faecalis,Staphylococcus aureus and a multispecies oral biofilm,besides anti-inflammatory *** in vivo subcutaneous tissue response to tooth fragments filled with nanofibers demonstrated a pulp-like tissue formation,when compared to empty teeth ***,we designed a strong antimicrobial,immunomodulatory and regenerative candidate for pulp revascularization and regeneration procedures.

Aim: To evaluate data related to mental work functioning of workers with cancer diagnosis in radiotherapy in a private service in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Method: It consists in a cross-sectional, observational and analytical study with comparison between cancer patients and healthy people, using the Brazilian version of the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire (WRFQ-Br). Descriptive and statistical analysis is performed by the Mann-Whitney test. Results: There was a significant difference between the groups in the evaluation of mental demand;however, the population diagnosed with malignant neoplasm submitted to radiotherapy had unexpected higher scores, reflecting lower mental exigency. Conclusions: The observed context may occur due to extensive support of family, government and interdisciplinary team of health care for individuals diagnosed with cancer. This data provide support for new research studies related to the importance of the work to promote mental health, considering aspects related to social interaction and productivity as the support system members. The importance of disseminating these results and limitation is based in the necessity of investments to improve research and actions to promote the permanence and early return to work for cancer survivors in Brazil and Latin America.

Objective:To describe the prognostic and clinical profile of hospitalized patients with chikungunya virus(CHIKV)infection focusing on renal ***:This is a cross-sectional study including all patients with confirmed chikungunya fever(CHIKF)admitted to 3 different highcomplexity hospitals in Fortaleza,Brazil between January 2016 and June *** analysis was carried out to evaluate correlation between clinical profile and ***:Fifty-five patients were included,with a median age of 77(IQR=21)years,and 23(41.82%)were ***-five patients(45.45%,25/55)developed acute kidney injury(AKI),and 15(60.00%,15/25)were classified as KDIGO 1,1(4.00%)as KDIGO 2,and 9(36.00%)as KDIGO *** overall mortality was 34.54%whilst AKI-related mortality was 64.00%(16/25).Both AKI and encephalitis were associated with higher *** who died were significantly older[82(IQR=12)years vs.70(IQR=28.75)years,P<0.001].In the multivariate analysis,abdominal pain was associated with an increased risk of severe AKI(OR=5.33,95%CI=1.11–25.64,P=0.037)and AKI was an independent risk factor of death(OR=12.06,95%CI=2.55–57.15,P=0.002).Recovery of renal function was similar among the different age ***:AKI is present in half of the study population and is an independent risk factor of ***,renal function should be carefully monitored in hospitalized patients with CHIKV infection.

The Microclimatic Influence of a Water Body on an Urban Environment

The paper aims to investigate the potential of a water body to influence in lowering the warmth in the city of Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Brazil, due to the evaporative cooling effects. In order to verify its potential, three collecting points of temperature and humidity were placed in an urban area close to the municipal dam. The first one was placed on the dam margin, the second one, 50 m distant of the margin and, the third one, 100 m distant. The data were taken during December 2010 and then compared to the climate data of the Climate Station of CIIAGRO-Integrated Center of Agro Meteorological. The results show that the closer the collection point is to the water body, and the lower is the temperature variation. The humidity taxes verified at the closest point to the water body indicate values higher than those ones collected at the most distant point. The insertion of moisture through the water bodies in an urban environment demonstrated to be a strategy that improved the thermal conditions and has to be considered for urban planners to establish strategies of urban occupation.

Objective:To investigate the cytotoxic activity of actinomycete isolated from marine ***:In the present study the DNA was isolated and the ITS region of 16s rRNA was amplified by polymerase chain reaction,using two universal bacterial primers,1492K(5'-GGTTACCTTG'TTAC GACTT-3')and Eubac27F(5'-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTC AG-3').The amplified products were purified using TIANgel mini purification kit,ligated to MD18-T simple vector(TaKaRa),and transformed into competent cells of Escherichia coli DH5α.16S rRNA gene fragment was sequenced using forward primer M13F(-47)and reverse primer M13R(-48).Blast search sequence similarity was found against the existing non-redundanl nucleotide sequence database thus,identified as Streptomyces sp SU,Streptomyces rubralavandulae strain SU1,Streptomyces cacaoi strain SU2,Streptomyces cavourensis strain SU3,Streptomyces avidinii strain SU4,Streptomyces globisporus strain SU5,Streptomyces variabilis strain SU6,Streptomyces coelicolor strain SU *** the eight identified isolates,one actinomycete Streptomyces avidinii strain SU4 was selected for further ***:Crude extract of the actinomycete isolate exhibited IC_(50)in 64.5μg against Hep-2 cell line,250μg in VERO cell *** value is very close to the criteria of cytotoxicity activity for the crude extracts,as established by the American National Cancer Institute(NCI)is in IC_(50)post genomic approaches to isolate more bioactive compounds a
