The chitosan oligosaccharide and vanillin are used as raw materials to synthesize non-toxic and watersoluble chitosan oligosaccharide derivative called vanillin chitosan oligosaccharide as a green co.rosion inhibitor. The co.rosion inhibition properties of 20# steel in co.-saturated solution system at 25°C and 3.5 wt% NaCl were studied. The synergistic effect of potassium iodide（KI） and Vco. on co.rosion inhibition was also studied. Various techniques such as weight loss（WL）, electrochemical analysis, atomic force microsco.y（AFM）, scanning electron microsco.y（SEM）, quantum chemical calculations, and molecular dynamics simulations were used to understand the inhibition properties. The inhibition efficiency of Vco. enhanced remarkably after the addition of KI, reaching an optimum value of 93.1%. EIS results showed that the inhibition of Vco. + KI on metal surface increased with time. Polarization measurements showed that Vco. and KI acted as mixed inhibitors by demonstrating anode *** and AFM were used to study the formation of inhibition film on metal surface after 3 days immersion. We co.cluded that the mixed inhibitor followed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. In addition,quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics simulations were used to verify the relationship between co.rosion inhibition efficiency and molecular structure.

As a potential resource for emerging clean energy with abundant reserves,co.lbed methane(CBM)has risen rapidly in recent years,and the co.struction of rational and eco.omical CBM gathering system plays a vital role in the development of the oil and gas *** present,there is no literature that co.siders the optimization of the multi-gathering mode of co.lbed methane pipe network *** to the co.plexity and high investment,this paper establishes a unified mixed-integer nonlinear programming model to determine the gathering modes(including liquified natural gas,co.pressed natural gas,and gas gathering station)of gathering system to reduce the co.t of co.lbed methane co.lection and *** objective function is the maximization of total profit during the period of the whole project,and such co.straints,like network structure,facility number,location,node flow balance,capacity and variable value,are taken into *** solution strategy and heuristic algorithm is proposed and verified by the field data from Shanxi province(China).The results show that the model can solve the problem for optimization design of the surface system in co.plicated CBM fields.

Simulating Error-Opening of Pressure Relief Valves of a Station on a co.tinuous Undulating Oil pipeline with Large Elevation Difference

For oil pipeline in mountain areas,high hydrostatic pressure in the pipeline may cause error-opening of pressure relief valves,and oil is discharged from the pipeline to the pressure relief tanks,bringing spilling-over risk of the pressure relief ***,simulating the error-opening situations of the pressure relief valves and investigating the oil discharge process are necessary for checking the possibility of the spilling-over accident and then proposing measures to improve the pressure relief *** research focuses on a co.tinuous undulating oil pipeline with large elevation difference and a station along this pipeline,which is named B station in this paper,is *** OLGA software,simulation model of the pressure relief system of B station is established,and the accuracy of the model is verified by reco.structing a real accident and making a co.parison with the actual accident *** maximum discharge rate reached 8284 m3/h when the pressure relief valve was opened by mistake in the inlet and outlet of the *** accumulated filling time of the two pressure relief tanks is 200 s,which is in good agreement with the accident *** this basis,for error-opening of the pressure relief valves at the inlet and outlet of B station,simulation is performed to investigate variations of the discharge velocity,discharge flow rate,accumulated discharge volume and ventilation volume of the vent *** discharge velocity is found to be over the maximum velocity allowed for safety *** to the accumulated discharge volume,it is inferred that spilling over of the pressure relief tanks will be caused once error-opening of the pressure relief valve *** it is judged that the existing breathing valve can not satisfy the ventilation requirement in case of failure of the pressure relief *** these simulation results,it is proposed that increasing the number of vent valves,replacing the manual valves with electrically operate

The leakage gas from a buried natural gas pipelines has the great potential to cause eco.omic losses and environmental pollution owing to the co.plexity of the mountainous *** this study,co.putational fluid dynamics(CFD)method was applied to investigate the diffusion law and hazard range of buried natural gas pipeline leakage in mountainous *** on cloud chart,co.centration at the monitoring site and hazard range of lower explosion limit(LEL)and upper explosion limit(UEL),the influences of leakage hole direction and shape,soil property,burial depth,obstacle type on the diffusion law and hazard range are *** show that the leakage gas is not radially diffused until it reaches the ground,and the velocity of gas diffusion to the ground and the hazard range decrease as the angle between the leaking direction and the buoyancy direction *** and square leak holes have a faster diffusion rate and a wider hazard range than *** diffusion rate of leakage gas in soil rises as soil granularity and porosity *** time of leakage gas diffusion to the ground increases significantly with the increase of burial depth,and the hazard range reduces as burial depth ***-type obstacles will alter the diffusion path of the leakage gas and accelerate the expansion of the hazard distance,while trench-type obstacles will cause the natural gas to accumulate in the trench and form a high co.centration region slowing the expansion of the surface gas co.centration.

To aid the magnetic anomaly detection(MAD)of underground ferromagnetic pipelines,this paper proposes a geometric modeling method based on the magnetic dipole reco.struction method(MDRM).First,the numerical modeling of basic pipe co.ponents such as straight sections,bends and elbows,and tee joints are discussed and the relevant mathematical formulations for these co.ponents are ***,after analyzing the function of MDRM and various element division strategies,the sectional division and blocked division methods are introduced and applied to the appropriate pipeline co.ponents to determine the volume and center co.rdinates of each element,establishing the general models for the three typical pipeline co.ponents *** resulting volume and center co.rdinates of each co.ponent are the fundamental parameters for determining the MAD forwarding of underground ferromagnetic pipelines using the ***,based on the co.bination and transformation of the basic pipeline co.ponents co.sidered,the visualized geometric models of typical pipeline layouts including parallel pipelines,pipelines with elbows,and a pipeline with a tee joint are *** results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method of geometric modeling for the MDRM,which can be further applied to the finite element modeling of these and other co.ponents when analyzing MAD ***,the models with output parameters proposed in this paper establish a foundation for the inversion of MAD.

Transporting massive quantities of carbon dioxide through a pipeline in its supercritical state is extremely *** of the unique properties of supercritical carbon dioxide,however,leakage occurring in such co.ditions can be extremely intricate,resulting in the dispersion area following leakage being influenced by numerous *** this study,this problem is addressed in the frame of the so-called Unified Dispersion Model(UDM),and various influential parameters are co.sidered,namely,leakage pressure,leakage temperature,leakage aperture,leakage angle,atmospheric stability,wind speed,and surface *** results show that the supercritical carbon dioxide dispersion is primarily influenced by high air temperatures,low wind speeds,reduced surface roughness,and release temperatures slightly below the critical ***,leak apertures also co.tribute to the *** dispersion is maximized under atmospheric stable D co.ditions,and when the leakage angle is 0°,the farthest downwind distance is 10 times greater than that at a leakage angle of 90°under the same co.ditions.
