Overcoming the Na-ion conductivity bottleneck for the cost-competitive chloride solid electrolytes

Chloride solid electrolytes possess multiple advantages for the construction of safe,energy-dense allsolid-state sodium batteries,but presently the chlorides with sufficiently high cost-competitiveness for commercialization almost all exhibit low Na-ion conductivities of around 10^(-5)S cm^(-1)or ***,we report a chloride solid electrolyte,Na_(2.7)ZFCl_(5.3)O_(0.7),which reaches a Na-ion conductivity of 2.29×10^(-4)S cm^(-1)at 25℃without involving overly expensive raw materials such as rare-earth chlorides or Na_(2)*** addition to the efficient ion transport,Na_(2.7)ZrCl_(5.3)O_(0.7)also shows an excellent deformability surpassing that of the widely studied Na_(3)PS_(4),Na_(3)SbS_(4),and Na_(2)ZrCl_(6)solid *** combination of these advantages allows the all-solid-state cell based on Na_(2.7)ZrCl_(5.3)O_(0.7)and NaCrO_(2)to realize stable room-temperature cycling at a much higher specific current than those based on other non-viscoelastic chloride solid electrolytes in literature(120 mA g^(-1)vs.12-55 mA g^(-1));after 100 cycles at such a high rate,the Na_(2.7)ZFCl_(5.3)O_(0.7)-based cell can still deliver a discharge capacity of 80 mAh g^(-1)at25℃.

We present a study on inelastic thermoelectric devices, wherein charge currents and electronic and phononic heat currents are intricately interconnected. The employment of double quantum dots in conjunction with a phonon reservoir positions them as promising candidates for quantum thermoelectric diodes and transistors. We illustrate that quantum coherence yields significant charge and Seebeck rectification effects. It is worth noting that, while the thermal transistor effect is observable in the linear response regime, especially when phononassisted inelastic processes dominate the transport, quantum coherence does not enhance thermal *** work may provide valuable insights for the optimization of inelastic thermoelectric devices.

We present a novel method to achieve the decoupling between the transmission and reflection waves of non-Hermitian doped epsilon-near-zero(ENZ)media by inserting a dielectric slit into the *** method also allows for independent control over the amplitude and the phase of both the transmission and reflection waves through few dopants,enabling us to achieve various optical effects,such as perfect absorption,high-gain reflection without transmission,reflectionless high-gain transmission and reflectionless total transmission with different *** manipulating the permittivity of dopants with extremely low loss or gain,we can realize these effects in the same *** also extend this principle to multi-port doped ENZ structures and design a highly reconfigurable and reflectionless signal distributor and generator that can split,amplify,decay and phase-shift the input signal in any desired *** method overcomes limitations of optical manipulation in doped ENZ caused by the interdependent nature of the transmission and reflection,and has potential applications in novel photonic devices.

Topological Dirac semimetals are a parent state from which other exotic topological phases of matter, such as Weyl semimetals and topological insulators, can emerge. In this study, we investigate a Dirac semimetal possessing sixfold rotational symmetry and hosting higher-order topological hinge Fermi arc states, which is irradiated by circularly polarized light. Our findings reveal that circularly polarized light splits each Dirac node into a pair of Weyl nodes due to the breaking of time-reversal symmetry, resulting in the realization of the Weyl semimetal phase. This Weyl semimetal phase exhibits rich boundary states, including two-dimensional surface Fermi arc states and hinge Fermi arc states confined to six ***, by adjusting the incident direction of the circularly polarized light, we can control the degree of tilt of the resulting Weyl cones, enabling the realization of different types of Weyl semimetals.

Polymerization-induced self-assembly(PISA)combines synthesis and self-assembly of artificial polymers in one-pot,which brings us one step closer to emulating ***,the reported PISA formulations primarily focus on developing nano-objects with new chemical compositions and rarely on structural regulation of polymers with specific ***,sequence structure controllable polymerization-induced self-assembly(SCPISA)is reported by using 7-(2-methacryloyloxyethoxy)-4-methylcoumarin(CMA)as a *** the copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)and CMA,controlled incorporation of CMA units into the polymer chains can be realized by programmable light/heat ***-based P(HEMA-co-CMA)copolymers with the same composition but different sequence structures generate a range of ***,the morphologies of the resultant nano-objects can also be controlled by regulating the feed molar ratio of CMA and HEMA,which is similar to the conventional PISA,but the synthesis procedure is obviously simplified in *** versatility of the methodology is further demonstrated by the fabrication of different functional nano-objects with sequence structure-dependent morphologies in SCPISA systems with different functional monomers.

A Wigner-distribution-like(WDL)function based on the strong-field approximation(SFA)theory is used to investigate the ionization time of the photoelectron emitted from the initial states with different magnetic quantum number m in elliptically polarized electric *** saddle-point method is adopted for *** different m states,a discrepancy exists in the WDL distributions of the photoelectrons emitted in a direction close to the major axis of the laser field *** on the saddle-point analysis,this discrepancy can be ascribed to the interference between electrons ionized from two tunneling *** results show that the relationships between the tunneling instants and kinetic energy of photoelectrons are the same for different m initial states when the Coulomb potential is not *** work sheds some light on the ionization-time information of electrons from different magnetic quantum states.

Surface electrons in axion insulators are endowed with a topological layer degree of freedom followed by exotic transport phenomena, e.g., the layer Hall effect. Here, we propose that such a layer degree of freedom can be manipulated in a dissipationless way based on the antiferromagnetic MnBi2Te4with tailored domain structure. This makes MnBi2Te4a versatile platform to exploit the ‘layertronics’ to encode, process and store information. Importantly, the layer filter, layer valve and layer reverser devices can be achieved using the layer-locked chiral domain wall modes. The dissipationless nature of the domain wall modes makes the performance of the layertronic devices superior to those in spintronics and valleytronics. Specifically, the layer reverser, a layer version of the Datta–Das transistor, also fills up the blank in designing the valley reverser in valleytronics. Our work sheds light on constructing new generation electronic devices with high performance and low-energy consumption in the framework of layertronics.

The design of diatomic catalysts with uniformly dispersed metal atoms is expected to improve catalytic performance,which is conducive to the intensive comprehending of the synergistic mechanism between dual-metal sites for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)at the atomic ***,we design a strategy to immobilize bimetallic Fe-Co atoms onto nitrogen-doped graphene to obtain a diatomic catalyst(DA-FC-NG)with FeN_(3)-CoN_(3) *** DA-FC-NG shows excellent OER activity with a low overpotential(η_(10)=268 mV),which is superior to commercial iridium dioxide *** calculations uncover that the excellent activity of DA-FC-NG is due to the interaction between Fe and Co diatoms,which causes charge rearrangement and induces the adsorption of intermediates on the Fe-O-Co bridge structure,thus improving the catalytic OER *** work is of great significance for the design of highly active diatomic catalysts to replace noble metal catalysts for energy-related applications.
