Background: Tenofovir (TFV) is widely used to treat patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. But kidney abnormalities are the main concern using this drug. Few studies have described the renal impairment due to the TFV in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in Sub-Saharan Africa. The objective was to evaluate factors associated with renal impairment observed in patients on TFV for CHB. Method: It was a hospital based cross sectional prospective study carried out from June 2023 to July 2023 in Yaoundé (Cameroon) and included any patient treated with TFV for CHB during at least a period of 6 months. For each participant, we collected in the medical report socio-demographic data, clinical data, baseline creatinine, treatment information (type of TFV which was Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) or Alafenamide (TAF), duration). Then, we collected blood samples to measure serum creatinine and phosphate levels and urine dipstick analysis. Factors associated with renal impairment were assessed with the Odds Ratio. A p value of Results: A total of 60 participants were included. The median age was 44 years [36-55] and median duration of TFV therapy was 17.5 months [11.7-25.7]. The prevalence of reduced eGFR (Conclusion: Kidney function was impaired in some patients receiving TFV for CHB. It should be monitored, particularly after 36 months and for those receiving TDF prodrug.

Introduction: Priapism is a urological emergency defined as a prolonged penile erection for more than 6 hours, painful and sustained, occurring without any sexual stimulation. The diagnosis is essentially clinical. However, the management is often late because of the delay in consultation, which is characteristic in our context. The purpose of our study is to describe the clinical and therapeutic aspects of patients who presented with priapism at the Yaoundé Central Hospital as well as to propose a present synthesis concerning the management of priapism. Methodology: We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study with a retrospective recruitment method in the urology department of the YCH. It extended over a period of 6 months from January 2022 to June 2022. We reviewed the files of patients seen within a period spanning 10 years from January 1st, 2011 to January 31st, December 2021. The study population consisted of patients who had been hospitalized and treated for priapism. We carried out consecutive and non-exhaustive sampling. Results: During the study, we collected data from the medical files of 13 patients. The median age was 25 years, with extremes of 12 and 82 years. Most of the patients were between 20 and 30 years old (38.5%). Most of the patients were single (69.2%). Sickle cell disease was the main comorbidity encountered during the study (76.9%). The median time from onset of symptoms to consultation was 10 [6 - 20.5] hours, with extremes of 1 and 264 hours. All patients presented with painful penile erection (100%). There was concomitant multifocal pain in 38.5% of cases suggestive of vaso-occlusive crises (VOC). The symptoms occurred in a non-traumatic context in the majority of cases (92.3%). The T-shunt was the most used surgical technique (84.6%). The median duration of surgery was 36 [35 - 40] minutes with extremes of 25 and 60 minutes, the majority being operated in less than 45 minutes (84.6%). The frequency of postopera

Objective To study the changing characteristics and trend of medical income structure in the government-run hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),evaluate the effects of relevant reform measures,and to put forward corresponding suggestions for further optimizing their income *** The data related to the average medical income of government-run hospitals of TCM from 2012 to 2021 were sorted ***,descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the changes of related ***,structural change method was applied to investigate the changes of outpatient income and inpatient *** and Conclusion From 2012 to 2021,the growth of medical income in government-run hospitals of TCM tended to be stable,and the proportion of medical service income increased from 22.62%(2012)to 29.38%(2021),but the average annual growth rate was only 0.68%.The main items that caused the change of outpatient income structure were medicine revenue,laboratory tests,diagnosis and treatment,and the cumulative contribution rate was 89.15%.The main items that caused the change of inpatient income structure were medicine revenue,sanitary materials,and auxiliary examinations income,with a cumulative contribution rate of 80.04%.However,the contribution rate of registration,diagnosis,treatment,surgery and nursing income reflecting the value of medical personnel’s technical labor was relatively *** medical income structure of government-run hospitals of TCM underwent great changes and gradually became reasonable,but the medical service income increased slowly,and not all indicators achieved the *** promote the sustainable development of public hospitals of TCM and enable them to provide high-quality and efficient TCM medical and health services,it is necessary to further improve the relevant policy mechanism.

Introduction: Prematurity is the leading cause of neonatal death in Africa. More than a million children die each year due to co-morbidities related to prematurity. In addition to being one of the causes of neonatal deaths, the health problems associated with prematurity can also lead to severe lifelong impairment in those who survive. Objectives: This paper aims to determine the epidemiology and identify co-morbidities of prematurity in the neonatology units of the Douala General Hospital (DGH) and the Laquintinie Hospital of Douala (LHD). Patients and Methodology: We conducted an analytical retrospective cohort study from January 2015 to January 2018 in the neonatology department of the GDH and the LHD, which are considered reference hospitals for the management of preterm babies in Cameroon. We included all newborns aged less than 37 weeks admitted to the neonatology units of the GDH and the LHD. The descriptive component was based on the analysis of quantitative variables using measures of central tendency. The analytical component was evaluated using Spearman correlations and the Chi-square and Fisher tests. Simple and multiple logistic regressions measured factors predictive of mortality. The Kaplan Meier survival curve used the Log Rank test and significance at p ≤ 0.05. Results: We recorded 908 preterm newborns in neonatal service and 1,124 preterm deliveries in maternity, representing an incidence of 32.5% in neonatal unit and 10.6% in maternity. 51% of whom were girls, given a sex ratio M/F of 0.9. Hypertension was the main prenatal pathology (9.1%), while premature rupture of membranes: PROM (35.5%) and eclampsia/pre-eclampsia (18.6%) were the most common obstetrical pathologies. 75.9% of deliveries were vaginal with 65.2% being performed in our referral hospitals. Gestational age ranged from 22 to 36 weeks, with a mean of 32.4 weeks. Late preterm birth rate was 53.7%, and birth weight varied between 590 and 3200 g with an average of 1747 ± 479 g. The per
