This work presents a study on the use of cathodic protection as a measure against corrosion in pipelines. The cathodic protection,compliant with the API5L standard,is implemented here by applying an impressed current,while carefully considering several essential variables,such as soil characteristics,the type and color of the pipeline material,as well as the placement and size of the anode. Therefore,it is crucial to optimize the location and values of anodic overflows or ground resistances to ensure a uniform distribution of potential across the entire structure. In this method,impressed current protection uses an auxiliary anode and an external direct current source to induce a current through the electrolyte and the pipeline,thus countering the resistance of the steel. This approach is advantageous as it allows for the adjustment of electrical characteristics,particularly current levels,to meet specific needs. The factors essential to the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems,which optimize the distribution of protection potential across the structure,largely depend on the precise management of ground resistances during anodic discharge,particularly the attenuation coefficient(α). These factors were studied,and the results obtained were presented and discussed based on their influence.

We have collected 18 samples corresponding to 18 locations in the middle and lower reaches of the Huaihe River. The sediment samples were tested for their pH level,percentage of solids,organic matter and five heavy metals (Cr,Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb). The average concentrations of Cr,Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb of the 18 sampling locations were re-spectively 56.1,22.2,70.0,0.17 and 20.4 μg/g. Compared with their background values,the average concentrations of Zn and Cu in sediment samples from the Huaihe River were slightly higher,while the average concentrations of Cr and Pb were slightly lower. The concentration of Cd in all sediment samples was higher than its background value,while the average concentration of Cd in all sediment samples was about twice the amount of the background value. The concen-tration of the five heavy metals was lower than that of the Yangtze River. A correlation analysis revealed that heavy metals have similar geochemical feautures. The geo-accumulation index (Igeo) was used to evaluate the degree of pollu-tion of the Huaihe River sediments. The index reveals that the sediment samples are largely ranked from zero pollution to no to medium pollution.

It is of a great challenge to develop semiconductor photocatalysts with potential possibilities to simultaneously enhance photocatalytic efficiency and inhibit generation of toxic *** this study,we developed a facile method to induce the La doping and cationic vacancie(V(Zn))on ZnO for the highly efficient complete NO *** photocatalytic NO removal efficiency increases from 36.2%to 53,6%.Most importantly,a significant suppressed NO2 production also has been *** to the DFT calculations,ESR spectra and in situ FTIR spectra,the introduction of La^3+induce the redistribution of charge carriers in La-ZnO,which promote the production of·O2^- and lead to the formation of V(Zn)for the formation of·OH,contributing to the complete oxidation of NO to ***,the conversion pathway of photocatalytic NO oxidation has been elaborated,This work paves a new way to simultaneously realize the photocatalytic pollutants removal and the inhibition of toxic intermediates generation for efficient and safe air purification.

Landslide displacement prediction can enhance the efficacy of landslide monitoring system,and the prediction of the periodic displacement is particularly *** the previous studies,static regression models(e.g.,support vector machine(SVM))were mostly used for predicting the periodic *** models may have bad performances,when the dynamic features of landslide triggers are *** paper proposes a method for predicting the landslide displacement in a dynamic manner,based on the gated recurrent unit(GRU)neural network and complete ensemble empirical decomposition with adaptive noise(CEEMDAN).The CEEMDAN is used to decompose the training data,and the GRU is subsequently used for predicting the periodic *** procedures of the proposed method were illustrated by a case study in the Caojiatuo landslide area,and SVM was also adopted for the periodic displacement *** case study shows that the predictors obtained by SVM are inaccurate,as the landslide displacement is in a pronouncedly step-wise *** contrast,the accuracy can be significantly improved using the dynamic predictive *** paper reveals the significance of capturing the dynamic features of the inputs in the training process,when the machine learning models are adopted to predict the landslide displacement.

CO_(2)+O_(2) in-situ leaching(ISL)of sandstonetype uranium ore represents the third generation of solution mining in *** this study,reactive transport modeling of the interaction between hydrodynamic and geochemical reactions is performed to enable better prediction and regulation of the CO_(2)+O_(2) in-situ leaching process of *** reactions between mining solutions and rock,and the kinetic uranium dissolution controlled by O_(2)(aq)and bicarbonate(HCO_(3)-)are considered in the CO_(2)+O_(2) ISL reactive transport model of a typical sandstone-hosted uranium ore deposit in northern *** reactive leaching of uranium is most sensitive to the spatial distribution of the mineralogical properties of the uranium *** geostatistical models are used to represent the uncertainty on the spatial distribution of mineral grades.A Monte Carlo analysis was also performed to simulate the uranium production variability over an entire set of geostatistical *** ISL stochastic simulation performed with the selected geostatistical realizations approximates the uranium production variability *** simulation results of the ISL reactive transport model show that the extent of the uranium plume is highly dependent on mineralogical *** uncertainty analysis suggests the effect of uranium grade heterogeneity was found to be important to improve the accurate capture of the *** study provides guidance for the accurate simulation and dynamic regulation of the CO_(2)+O_(2) leaching process of uranium at the scale of large mining areas.

With the explosive growth of data available, there is an urgent need to develop continuous data mining which reduces manual interaction evidently. A novel model for data mining is proposed in evolving environment. First, some valid mining task schedules are generated, and then au tonomous and local mining are executed periodically, finally, previous results are merged and refined. The framework based on the model creates a communication mechanism to in corporate domain knowledge into continuous process through ontology service. The local and merge mining are transparent to the end user and heterogeneous data ,source by ontology. Experiments suggest that the framework should be useful in guiding the continuous mining process.

Thermal management in solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC)is a critical issue due to non-uniform electrochemical reactions and convective fl ows within the ***,a 2D mathematical model is established herein to investigate the thermal responses of a tubular methanol-fueled *** show that unlike the low-temperature condition of 873 K,where the peak temperature gradient occurs at the cell center,it appears near the fuel inlet at 1073 K because of the rapid temperature rise induced by the elevated current *** the large heat convection capacity,excessive air could not eff ectively eliminate the harmful temperature gradient caused by the large current ***,optimal control of the current density by properly selecting the operating potential could generate a local thermal neutral ***,the maximum axial temperature gradient could be reduced by about 18%at 973 K and 20%at 1073 K when the air with a 5 K higher temperature is ***,despite the higher electrochemical performance observed,the cell with a counter-fl ow arrange-ment featured by a larger hot area and higher maximum temperature gradients is not preferable for a ceramic SOFC system considering thermal ***,this study could provide insightful thermal information for the operating condition selection,structure design,and stability assessment of realistic SOFCs combined with their internal reforming process.
