The reservoir evaluation as a key technology in oil exploration and production is based on the electrical transport property (ETP) of saturated rock that is described in a mathematical form with Arhcie’s equa-tion. But there have been increasing cases observed in many researches indicating that the ETP is non-Archie especially for the complex reservoir with low porosity and permeability. In this paper,the numerical experiments based on the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) have been employed to study the effect of porous structure and fluids on the ETP for revealing the nature of non-Archie phenomenon in micro-scale. The results of numerical experiments have proved that the saturation exponent n is a function of water saturation and porosity instead of being a constant in Archie’s equation. And then,a new formula has been developed for the EPT through combining the result of numerical simulation with that of laboratory measurements. The calculations from the new formula show very good agreement with laboratory measurements to demonstrate the efficiency of the new formula over the conventional methods in non-Archie rock.

The borehole acoustic reflection imaging logging is a newly developed acoustic logging method that has attracted many interests. These converted and reflected waves for imaging are usually mixed up with borehole guided waves and therefore difficult to be clearly identified. To improve the downhole tool design and develop more sophisticate data processing and interpretation algorithms,studies on precisely numerical modeling of the wave fields in the acoustic reflection imaging logging are neces-sary and critical. This paper developed a parallelized scheme of 3D finite difference (3DFD) with non-uniform staggered grid and PML absorbing boundary to simulate the acoustic wave fields in isotropic and anisotropic formations. Applications of this scheme to the typical cases of isotropic and anisot-ropic formations and comparison with the results from published analytical solutions have demon-strated the validation and efficiency of the scheme. Higher accuracy and lower computation cost (3.5 times faster than the conventional schemes) have been achieved with this scheme for modeling such a complex wave fields of 60 dB dynamic range with higher frequency (10 kHz). This simulating program provides a quantitative analytical means for studying acoustic reflection imaging tool and development of the data processing and interpretation methods.

The effectiveness of gas accumulation processes is controlled by several main geological factors in-cluding charging force,features of gas conduit,sealing properties of caprock,etc. Based on the analysis and statistics of the large-medium size gas accumulations in china,the main parameters,in-cluding the excess pressure difference between the source rock and reservoir bed,the area coefficient of the gas conduit,and the thickness or displacement pressure of caprock,and the criteria for the as-sessment of gas accumulation processes have been established. Using the parameters and the criteria above,the effectiveness of gas accumulation processes in the Kuqa depression was quantitatively evaluated. By integrating the parameters of the excess pressure difference between the source rock and reservoir bed,the area coefficient of fault conduit system,and the caprock thickness in gas charging period,a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of gas accumulation in the Kuqa depression has been made. The result reveals that the Tubei-Dawan area,the Central Kelasu area and the Dongqiu-Dina area are three highly-effective areas for gas accumulation in the Kuqa depression.

Radial drilling technology, of which the jet bit is the key device, is a research focus in the field of oil drilling and production. This paper establishes mechanical equations for jet bits and analyzes the hydroseal of backward jets in bottom holes. Meanwhile this paper establishes a mechanical equation for a high pressure hose and analyzes the axial force distribution. Laboratory experiments indicate that the flow rate, the angle between the backward nozzle axis and the jet bit axis, and the hole diameter are the major influencing factors; the generation of the pulling force is mainly due to the inlet pressure of the jet bit; the backward jets can significantly increase not only the pulling force but also the stability of jet bits. The pulling force would reach 8,376 N under experimental conditions, which can steadily pull the high-pressure hose forward.

THE Yellow River, with its huge amount of silt charge from the Loess Plateau, is the secondlargest river in china. Its lower reach has become a famous hanging river because of serioussilting up, and the magnitude of discharge changes much from season to season. As a result ofsilting, migration of the stream channel happens frequently. Lateral erosion of channel or pointbars, and scarp slopes forming during the erosion may be often observed. The silt stalactite,hitherto not reported, usually forms on surfaces of the slope. As a newly found kind of sedirnen-tary structure, the silt stalactite may have some significance to the study of sedimentary envi-ronments and paleoclimate.

Electro dislocation multiplication and strain effect in 2091 Al-Li alloy

Electro dislocation multiplication and strain effect were investigated. TEM observation showed that when statically held for 15 min, the microstructure of dislocation cell in the specimens without current pulse turned to subgrains with few dislocations in cold rolled state, but when current pulse charged, there were a lot of dislocations although a more rapid recrystallization occurred concurrently; when deformed, the interior dislocations in the specimens without current pulse were annihilated due to dynamic recrystallization, but were not decreased in the current pulse charged specimens in dynamic recrystallization, instead increased. It is indicated that “electron wind” force created by current pulse produced a shear stress for dislocation slip, and caused a dislocation multiplication in static holding of 2091 Al Li alloy; when strain exerted, an additional shear stress was provided to increase the effect of current pulse on dislocation multiplication.

The vortex finder is essential in cyclone separators, significantly affecting separation performance via its diameter and insertion depth. The current study shows that as the insertion depth of the vortex finder increases, the separation efficiency initially increases and then decreases, and there exists a maximum point with which the corresponding insertion depth is the maximum efficiency insertion depth (SMEID). However, there are inconsistent conclusions in the existing literature regarding the maximum efficiency insertion depth and a lack of explanation for the flow field mechanism at the maximum efficiency insertion depth. This study examines the Stairmand type cyclone using 13 mm silicon micro-powder, employing numerical simulation and cold mold experiments to explore the effects of the vortex finder's insertion depth and diameter on separation performance and flow field. The results indicate that the insertion depth has minimal impact on pressure drop. The maximum efficiency insertion depth of the vortex finder decreases as the diameter decreases and is independent of this insertion depth with respect to the inlet velocity. Analysis of the flow field reveals that the maximum efficiency insertion depth is essentially the result of a "competitive and synergistic" mechanism between the annular space separation capability and the separation space separation capability. The electrically permeable slit crack within a piezoelectric body is treated as a bonded interface in electrostatics. The electric boundary conditions along the interface should be the continuity of the tangent component of the electric field strength and the normal component of the electric displacement. Using such boundary conditions, the problems of antiplane strain of collinear cracks between bonded dissimilar piezoelectric materials are exactly analyzed. Solutions of the complex potentials in a closed form are given for a single and two interface cracks. It is shown from the solutions that the stress, strain, electric field strength and electric displacement have (1/2) type of singularity at the crack tip, and the energy release rate for crack propagation depends only on both stress intensity factor and strain intensity factor.
