Plant roots are one of the major mediators that allocate carbon captured from the atmosphere to soils as rhizodeposits,including root *** rhizodeposition regulates both microbial activity and the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients,the effects of particular exudate species on soil carbon fluxes and key rhizosphere microorganisms remain *** combining high-throughput sequencing,q-PCR,and NanoSIMS analyses,we characterized the bacterial community structure,quantified total bacteria depending on root exudate chemistry,and analyzed the consequences on the mobility of mineral-protected *** well-controlled incubation experiments,we showed that the three most abundant groups of root exudates(amino acids,carboxylic acids,and sugars)have contrasting effects on the release of dissolved organic carbon(DOC)and bioavailable Fe in an Ultisol through the disruption of organo-mineral associations and the alteration of bacterial communities,thus priming organic matter decomposition in the *** resolution(down to 50 nm)NanoSIMS images of mineral particles indicated that iron and silicon colocalized significantly more organic carbon following amino acid inputs than treatments without exudates or with carboxylic *** application of sugar strongly reduced microbial diversity without impacting soil carbon *** acids increased the prevalence of Actinobacteria and facilitated carbon mobilization,whereas amino acid addition increased the abundances of Proteobacteria that prevented DOC *** summary,root exudate functions are defined by their chemical composition that regulates bacterial community composition and,consequently,the biogeochemical cycling of carbon in the rhizosphere.

The purpose of this study was to determine the thickness of skin and fat folds in Kyrgyz women of various ages, taking into account their somatotypological profile. Using the method of complex anthropometry, including the determination of the values of 21 anthropometric parameters, the physical status of 1028 Kyrgyz women of different age groups was studied youth (16 - 20 years old 310 girls), mature age (1st period, 21 - 35 years old 308 women;2nd period, 36 - 55 years 410 women) living in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. For somatotyping, we used the scheme of constitutional diagnostics. Seven somatotypes distinguished within three constitutional groups. The subcutaneous fat was measured by caliperometry. Statistical processing carried out using the statistical programs Microsoft Excel and the STATISTICA package (v. 6.0). To determine the reliability of the differences between the indicators, the Student’s test was used (p < 0.05). The results demonstrate that within each somatotype there are broad changes in the studied anthropometric indicator. Thus, the thickness of the skin and fat folds is the smallest in women of asthenic, athletic and stenoplastic (p < 0.05), and the largest in representatives of the euriplastic and pycnic somatotypes (p < 0.05). Thus, indicators of physical status in adolescence and adulthood in women have a pronounced somatotypological specificity. These materials on the physical development and constitutional and typological characteristics of the studied population of women applicable for a personalized approach in the context of a relative norm.

A case report presents a progression of autoimmune thyroiditis with an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid glands and increased thyreotropin hormone concentration-associated with interferon treatment in human papillomavirus infected patient with the autoimmune thyroiditis and a daily L-thyroxin hormone replacement therapy background. Observation was supplemented with a brief review of literature and discussion. On the basis of this observation and a brief review of literature authors suggested that the potential adverse effects of interferon therapy are overbalanced than its benefits for gynecological patients, therefore any interferon treatment should be recommended with strict indications as well as after screening of conditions and functions of thyroid glands and other interferon target organs to avoid interferon treatment side effects. Practitioners especially gynecologists should inform their patients about pleiotropic interferon effects and its high frequent and wide range side effects before to start such kind of treatment.

Nickel(Ⅱ)complexes with pyrazole-based ligands are widely employed in catalysis of ethylene oligomerization and subsequent Friedel-Crafts alkylation of *** have prepared ten new nickel(Ⅱ)dibromide complexes with various substituted bis(azolyl)*** have been characterized using^(1)H NMR,IR,high resolution mass spectrometry and elemental *** structures of three complexes have been unambiguously established using X-ray *** was found that these complexes in the presence of Et2AlCl or Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)are active both in ethylene oligomerization and Friedel-Crafts alkylation processes(activity up to 3720 kgoligomer·mol[Ni]^(−1)·h^(−1)).The use of Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)results in a higher share of alkylated products(up to 60%).Moreover,catalytic systems activated with Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)produced small amounts of odd carbon number olefins(up to 0.8%).The Friedel-Crafts alkylation was used as a trap for previously undetected short-chain odd carbon number olefins(C_(3)and C_(5)).

To study the expression of RNA editing deaminases ADAR2 and ADAR3 in different malignant glioma cell lines and the effect of phenylacetate on the expression of these genes, the primarily glial cells of human brain tissue were isolated and cultured. The human glioma SHG-44, U-251, BT-325 cell lines were maintained in culture. The expressions of ADAP,.2 and ADAR3 mRNA were detected by the semiquantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction（RT-PCR）. The changes in ADAR2 mRNA expression before and after phenylacetate treatment were detected by RT-PCR and image analysis. The level of ADAR gene expression is expressed as the ratio expression rate（RER） of ADAR gene to β-actin according to computer image analysis. ADAR2 displays moderate expression in glial cells, low expression in low-grade malignant glioma SHG-44 cells, and high level expression in high-grade malignant glioma U-251and BT-325 cells. The expression of ADAR2 can be decreased by phenylacetate treatment in glioma U-251 cells. ADAR3 is not expressed in normal brain glial cells, or glioma SHG-44, U-251 and BT-325 cells before and after phenylacetate treatment. The enhanced expression of ADAR2 may be involved in the tumor progression of malignant glioma. Phenylacetate can decrease the expression of ADAR2 in glioma cells, suggesting that it may act on the RNA editing process in glioma.

Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles with different magnetic properties were prepared by coprecipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ with aqueous NaOH solution. The inductive heat properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in an alternating current (AC) magnetic field were investigated for local hyperthermia. The maximum saturation magnetization Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles is 65.53 emu·g-1 under the optimum conditions of Fe3+: Fe2+ molar ratio at 1.8:1. The Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles decreased as the Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio increased. But the coercivity Hc increases with the increasing of Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio. Exposed in the AC magnetic field for 29 min, the temperatures of physiological saline suspension containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles were 42-97.5 ℃. The inductive heat property of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in AC magnetic field decreases as Hc increases, but increases with the increasing of Ms. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles would be useful as good thermoseeds for localized hyperthermia treatment of cancers.

Effects of mildly increasing dialysis sodium removal on renin and sympathetic system in hemodialysis patients

Background It has been argued that the benefits of reducing sodium loading may be offset by increased activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system （RAAS） and sympathetic nervous system. This study aimed to investigate the long-term effects of an increase in dialysis sodium removal on circulating RAAS and sympathetic system in hypertensive hemodialysis （HD） patients with ＂normal＂ post-HD volume status. Methods Thirty hypertensive HD patients were enrolled in this pilot trial. After one month period of dialysis with standard dialysate sodium of 138 mmol/L, the patients were followed up for a four months period with dialysate sodium set at 136 retool/L, without changes in instructions regarding dietary sodium control. During the period of study, the dry weight was adjusted monthly under the guidance of bioimpedance spectroscopy to maintain post-HD volume status in a steady state; 44-hour ambulatory blood pressure, plasma renin, angiotensin II （Ang II）, aldosterone, and norepinephrine （NE） were measured. Results After four months of HD with low dialysate sodium of 136 mmol/L, 44-hour systolic and diastolic blood pressures （BPs） were significantly lower （-10 and -6 mmHg）, in the absence of changes in antihypertensive medications. No significant changes were observed in plasma renin, Ang II, aldosterone, and NE concentrations. The post-HD volume parameters were kept constant. Conclusion Mildly increasing dialysis sodium removal over 4 months can significantly improve BP control and does not activate circulating RAAS and sympathetic nervous system in hypertensive HD patients.
