Background: Diabetes education is crucial in empowering persons with Type 1 diabetes (T1DM) and their families to properly manage the condition by providing comprehensive knowledge, tools, and support. It boosts one’s belief in their ability to succeed, encourages following medical advice, and adds to the general enhancement of health. Objective: This study is to investigate the effectiveness of diabetes education in empowering individuals with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) and their families to effectively manage the condition. Furthermore, it strives to improve nursing care for families whose children have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM). Design: This research study investigates the efficacy of diabetes education in empowering individuals with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) and their families to effectively handle the condition. Materials and Methods: A systematic search was conducted between the years 2000 and 2022, utilizing the Medline and Google Scholar databases. The purpose of the search was to uncover relevant papers pertaining to diabetes education, management of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM), nurse care, and empowerment. The search focused on peer-reviewed research, clinical trials, and scholarly articles that evaluated the efficacy of diabetes education in empowering individuals and families. Results: Diabetes education is crucial for understanding and controlling T1DM. It includes personalized sessions, webinars, group classes, and clinics that provide customized therapies. Comprehensive education enhances glycemic control and family dynamics. Nevertheless, the implementation of diabetes education for families requires specific standards, especially in the field of nursing. Conclusion: Diabetes education is essential for effectively managing Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM), providing patients and families with crucial knowledge, resources, and confidence. BACKGROUND Intussusception occurs in children and progresses *** not treated in time,it may lead to secondary complications such as intestinal perforation,which affect the quality of life and health of *** is the most common clinical treatment and has a good ***,the postoperative prognosis of children with intussusception has a correlation with the postoperative rehabilitation ***,in this study,we explored the relationship between postopera-tive rehabilitation,gastrointestinal function,and the expression of inflammatory factors in children with *** medical records of 18 children who were admitted to our hospital for intussusception surgery between October 2022 and May 2024 were retrospectively *** patients were divided into the routine nursing group(n=6)and rehabilitation training group(n=12)according to the postoperative rehabilitation *** general data,gastrointestinal function,and inflammatory factor levels of the two groups were statistically *** correlation analysis of gastrointestinal function,inflammatory factors,and postoperative rehabil-itation was *** We found no significant intergroup differences in sex,age,or disease course(P>0.05).The times to first defecation,bowel sound recovery,and anal exhaust were shorter and inflammatory factor levels were lower in the rehabilitation training group than in the routine nursing group(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that gastrin and motilin levels were positively correlated with postoperative rehabilitation(P<0.05).Interleukin(IL)-2,IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein,and tumor necrosis factor-αlevels were negatively correlated with postoperative rehabilitation(P<0.05).Gastrointestinal function was positively correlated(P<0.05),and levels of inflammatory factors were negatively correlated with postoperative recovery time(P<0.05).CONCLUSION We found a positive correlation between gastrointe

Improving BMI in Children While Utilizing pediatric Provider Guided Telemedicine: A Pilot Study

Background: Childhood obesity is dramatically on the rise throughout the world. Screening and prevention are ideal, but treatment becomes necessary when a child’s body mass index (BMI) is 95% and greater. Obesity related illness leads to premature death. Local Problem: The current practice at the clinical site for this project is to send the child for lab work and follow up in three months after implementing lifestyle changes, including diet and exercise. Follow-up visits, often canceled or forgotten, contribute to a lack of evaluation and not being seen until the next annual well visit. Methods: The measurable outcomes are the pre and post BMI measurements. A paired t-test was used for data analysis. Compliance with the program was determined by the dietary logs. Interventions: The childhood obesity project was a self-management project, incorporating weekly telemedicine visits with a pediatric provider. The child’s progress was documented via the dietary log and addressed weekly with the provider. Results: There were five participants at the completion of the program. The BMI levels of the pre-intervention period (M = 21.06, SD = 2.86563) and the post-intervention period (M = 20.9, SD = 3.13688) indicated that there was not a significant change in participant BMI as a result of the eight-week intervention period, t(4) = 0.436, p = 0.685. Conclusions: This program is feasible and can be utilized by other families and providers in futures studies. The availability of telemedicine is convenient for busy families. Further studies are recommended with a larger sample size and a longer implementation period to recognize improved change.
