Despite significant advances over the last decade, mucosal lesions of the small bowel are poorly detected by imaging studies such as CT scan, MRI-enteroclysis and contrast-enhanced abdominal ultrasound. Capsule endoscopy (CE) has dramatically changed the diagnostic approach to intestinal diseases. Moreover, the use of CE can be extended to include other conditions. However, it is diffi cult to assess the positive influence of CE on patient outcomes in conditions involving a small number of patients, or in critically ill and diff icult to examine patients. CE has the advantage of diagnosing intestinal lesions and of directing the use of double balloon enteroscopy (DBE) in order to obtain biopsy specimens. Moreover, CE allows repeated assessment in chronic conditions, especially to detect relapse of an infectious disease.

Cutaneous metastasis from renal cell carcinoma is believed to be rare. We present a 66-year-old man operated for kidney cancer 20 years ago and has consulted for a scrotal lesion that had started 20 days. The physical examination revealed an erythematous lesion. A biopsy of the scrotal skin was made. We found a scrotal metastasis of renal cell carcinoma.

Background: Tongue is an exceptional site of lipoma, a yet very common tumor. Aim: To improve awareness in tongue lipoma diagnosis and treatment approaches through a report of 2 cases and a review of literature. Case Report: A 57-year female patient presented with a large and long-standing mass of 10 years of duration of the base of the tongue, difficulties in feeding and speaking. Another patient of 33 years old presented with an asymptomatic swelling of the left side of the mobile tongue. The two patients had no remarkable medical history and their clinical examination was otherwise unremarkable. In all the two masses, macroscopic examination of the surgical specimen showed an elastic consistency and a yellowish cut surface. Microscopically, matures adipocytes in an abundant fibrous connective tissue were noted in one of the specimen and fibrolipoma was diagnosed. In the other one, matures adipocytes were noted and its patient was diagnosed as having lipoma. Discussion: Tongue lipoma diagnosis, clinically challenging, is easily suspected at macroscopic examination of surgical specimen of a tongue mass. Treatment should favor as possible as a non-mutilating approach given the benign character and the classical low propensity for recurrence of the tumor.

AIM: To study the expression of early growth response gene1 (Egr-1 gene) and Bcl-X/L protein and its relationship with the cell apoptosis in human esophageal carcinoma(EC) and precancerous ***: In situ hybridization(ISH), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and TUNEL method were used respectively to detect Egr-1mRNA, Egr-1 protein, apoptosis related-protein Bcl-X/L and cell apoptosis in situ from 66 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and their upper cut edge and paracancerous ***: Egr-1 gene in situ hybridization, Bcl-X/L immunohistochemistry positive products were located in the cytoplasm, while Egr-1 immunohistochemistry and TUNEL positive signal were located in the nuclei. The apoptosis index(AI) and the frequency of apoptosis occurrence were increased gradually from precancerous lesion to cancer (P＜0.01) and the expression of Egr-1mRNA and Egr-1 protein in dysplasia was the highest among all specimens (P＜0.01).The AI of Egr-1 positive cancer tissues was much higher than that of Egr-1 negative cancer tissues (P＜0.01), while the AI of Bcl-X/L positive cancer tissues was much lower than that of Bcl-X/L negative cancer tissues (P＜0.01). The AI and Egr-1 expression were not correlated with invasiveness and lymphatic metastasis in ***: Cell apoptosis was present through esophageal carcinogenesis. The expression of Egr-1 mRNA and Egr-1 protein were high in precancerous lesion of esophagus. The AI was increased significantly in Egr-1 positive squamous cell carcinoma. Egr-1 might promote apoptotic effect. Egr-1 expression and cell apoptosis may have an important biological significance in esophageal carcinogenesis.

Introduction: Soft tissue chondroma is a very rare, slow progressing, benign tumor. It has a specific tendency for hands and feet. It can exhibit worrisome radiographic and histologic features mimicking chondrosarcomas. Case 1: A 54-year-old man was presented with a big mass in the left thigh. At magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the lesion exhibited a heterogeneous pattern, localized in muscle without infiltration. Open biopsy was performed showed a soft tissue chondroma. Case 2: A 40 years old man presented with a hard mass on the right iliac fossa. TDM showed a well circumscribed soft tissue mass with a heterogeneous pattern. Histological assessment of the resected specimen confirmed a soft tissue chondroma. Conclusion: Soft tissue chondroma is a very rare benign tumor. In our case, the tumor presented with an unusual location and radiological appearance, suggesting a malignant process. The diagnosis was rectified thanks to pathological examination.

syndrome （BCS） and identify the aetiologies of thisdisease in ***： Patients with BCS, hospitalised in our unitfrom January 2004 until June 2010 were included and theaetiological factors were assessed. Patients presentinga BCS in the setting of advanced-stage cirrhosis or aliver transplantation were excluded from the study. Thediagnosis was established when an obstruction of hepaticvenous outflow （thrombosis, stenosis or compression）was demonstrated. We diagnosed myeloproliferativedisease （MPD） by bone marrow biopsy and V617FJAK2 mutation. Anti-phospholipid syndrome （APLS） wasdetected by the presence of anticardiolipin antibodies,anti-β2 glycoprotein antibodies and Lupus *** also detected paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria（PNH） by flow cytometry. Celiac disease and Beh？etdisease were systematically investigated in our *** anticoagulant protein deficiencies were alsoassessed. We tested our patients for the G20210Amutation at Beaujon Hospital. Imaging procedures wereperformed to determine a local cause of BCS, such as ahydatid cyst or a liver ***： One hundred and fifteen patients wereincluded. Mean follow up： 32.12 mo. Mean age： 34.41years, M/F = 0.64. Chronic presentation was frequent：63.5%. The revealing symptoms for the BCS wereascites （74.8%） and abdominal pain （42.6%）. Themost common site of thrombosis was the hepatic veins（72.2%）. Involvement of the inferior vena cava alonewas observed in 3 patients. According to the radiologicalinvestigations, BCS was primary in 94.7% of the cases（n = 109） and secondary in 5.2% （n = 6）. An aetiologywas identified in 77.4% of the patients （n = 89）; itwas multifactorial in 27% （n = 31）. The predominantaetiology of BCS in our patients was a myeloproliferativedisease, observed in 34.6% of cases. APLS was foundin 21.7% and celiac disease in 11.4%. Myositis ossificans is a benign self limiting condition that usually related to trauma. Despite a clinically and histologically distinct entity, myositis ossificans still causes considerable difficulties in diagnosis. A 33-year-old Moroccan woman presented with a 2-month history of left inguinal inflammatory pain with limping gait, MRI examination suggested a malignant neoplasm such as soft tissue osteosarcoma. A diagnosis of myositis ossificans was made by incisional biopsy. Conservative management with clinical and radiological follow up of 19 months confirm the diagnosis. The symptoms resolved within seven months. Myositis ossificans should be considered by clinicians as a possible diagnosis for a soft tissue lesion.

The clinical data of 18 patients with PB from April 1989 to April 2013 was analyzed retrospectively,including 11 men and 7 women,aged 45 and 76 years old(mean 53 years).There were 12 eases of PB occurrlng in right lung and other cases in left lung,AraBng them,3 patients had no symptoms,and 15 patients displayed symptoms of cough,chest pain,asthenia or minor ***,11 patients had a preoperative diagnosis of lung cancer,7 patients were preoperatively diagnosed as the other disease,which included lung benign tumor(n=5)and mediastinal mass(n=2).All patients received a radical *** patients received postoperative cisplalinbascd chemothcrapy,and two paticnts received postoperative irradiation with the dose of 55 ***.14 eases of 18 patients had biphasie pulmonary blastema and four cases had well differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma.A total of 12 patients died in a period of 6-36 months after operation,and 1 ease was lost after 2 years of follow *** median survival time was 19 months,PB is a rare primary lung malignant embryonal *** its assumed embyonal origin,the tumor has a predileetion for adults.A preoperative correct diagnosis is very difficult in spite of modern diagnostic imaging and biopsy techniques,Surgical resection is the main method for diagnosis and *** chemotherapy or irradiation can help eliminate tumor *** prognosis is very poor,especially for the biphasie type.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors of the scalp are rare lesions of the nervous system. ?Only 16 cases have been reported to date. In this report, we present a case of a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) of the scalp and retrospectively analyze the clinical features, imaging findings, pathological features, and prognoses of these tumors.
