An approach was made to correlate the proposed model of ion-cluster structure and structural parameter of TiO_2-bearing pentan system of molten slag with ***- sults showed that an increase of ions with 4-coordination number in molten slag makes the increase of bulk viscosity and the decrease of density,while ions with 6-coordination number are the *** structural parameter proposed is so fairly interrelated to the properties of slag,that it may be available for the prediction about *** comparison with ions of 4-coordination *** is more effective than Al and Si.

Three-dimensional finite element model of electromagnetic stirrer was built to predict magnetic field in a bloom continuous casting mold for steel during operation. The effects of current intensity, current frequency, and mold copper plate thickness on the magnetic field distribution in the mold were investigated. The results show that the magnetic induction intensity increases linearly with the increase in current intensity and decreases with the increase in current frequency. Increasing current intensity and frequency is available in increasing the electromagnetic force. The Joule heat decreases gradually from surface to center of bloom, and a maximum Joule heat can be found on corner of bloom. The prediction of magnetic induction intensity is in good agreement with the measured values.

The layer thermal conductivity during constraint cooling of hot rolled coil was described by using equivalent thermal conductivity model and finite element method. Two radial stress concentration zones in constraint cooled coil were shown by numerical analysis, and the tension stress was assumed to be the main factor to induce stress corrosion. The experimental results show that the longer the water cooling time is, the smaller the grain size and the more uniform the grains are.

The non-isothermal oxidation experiments of ilmenite concentrate were carried out at various heating rates under air atmosphere by *** oxidation kinetic model function and kinetic parameters of apparent activation energy（Ea）were evaluated by Málek and Starink *** results show that under air atmosphere,the oxidation process of ilmenite concentrate is composed of three stages,and the chemical reaction（G（α）=1-（1-α）~2,whereαis the conversion degree）plays an important role in the whole oxidation *** the first stage（α=0.05-0.30）,the oxidation process is controlled gradually by secondary chemical reaction with increasing conversion *** the second stage（α=0.30-0.50）,the oxidation process is completely controlled by the secondary chemical reaction（G（α）=1-（1-α）~2）.At the third stage（α=0.50-0.95）,the secondary chemical reaction weakens gradually with increasing conversion degree,and the oxidation process is controlled gradually by a variety of functions;the kinetic equations are G（α）=（1-α）^（-1）（β=10K·min^（-1）,whereβis heating rate）,G（α）=（1-α）^（-1/2）（β=15-20K·min^（-1））,and G（α）=（1-α）^（-2）（β=25K·min^（-1））,*** the whole oxidation process,the activation energies follow a parabolic law with increasing conversion degree,and the average activation energy is 160.56kJ·mol^（-1）.

The reduction of ilmenite concentrate in 30vol% co–70vol% N_2 atmosphere was characterized by thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric(TG–DTG) analysis methods at temperatures from 1073 to 1223 *** isothermal reduction results show that the reduction process comprised two stages;the corresponding apparent activation energy was obtained by the iso-conversional and model-fitting *** the first stage,the effect of temperature on the conversion degree was not obvious,the phase boundary chemical reaction was the controlling step,with an apparent activation energy of 15.55–40.71 k J·mol^(–1).For the second stage,when the temperatures was greater than 1123 K,the reaction rate and the conversion degree increased sharply with increasing temperature,and random nucleation and subsequent growth were the controlling steps,with an apparent activation energy ranging from 182.33 to 195.95 k J·mol^(–1).For the whole reduction process,the average activation energy and pre-exponential factor were 98.94^(–1)18.33 k J·mol^(–1) and 1.820^(–1).816 min^(–1),respectively.

The SMART/ASTC dynamic soft reduction technology of VAI and its application on the 6-strand bloom continuous caster at Pangang, China are presented. The operation results show that soft reduction technology is effective to improve the inner quality of continuously cast blooms. At Pangang, both the central porosity and the central segregation ratings are no more than 1.0, the central shrinkage cavity rating is no more than 0.5, and the central segregation index of carbon is no more than 1.05. Rails made from the blooms have excellent quality and are used for high-speed tracks.

When titanium element appears in bearing steel, it is very easy to create titanium nitride inclusion, which reduces the fatigue life of bearing steel. Based on the production data of bearing steel produced by BOF, it is found that the titanium takes its source in bearing steel; the factors-affecting titanium content, and the thermodynamics behavior of titanium under smelting condition were studied. The results show that the prime reasons of titanium content increment are the soluble aluminum content and the titanium oxide of slag. The comparison between the experimental data and theoretical ones shows that there is a big declination when the soluble aluminum content of steel is higher, which is caused by the nonequilibrium reaction of slag and steel. The apparent equilibrium distribution coefficient of titanium between slag and steel is Obtained by use of experimental data.

Inclusion has an important effect on quality of high speed rail steel. In consideration of the lower acceptance percentage of the inclusion and its constraint against the requirement for large scale production of 350 km/h high speed rail steel in panzhihua iron and steel （Group） co,the technology of nonmetallic inclusion control for 350 km/h high speed rail steel was studied. An optimized model of the argon-blowing in ladle furnace （LF）,the control of the components of the ladle slag,and the technique of calcium treatment for the molten steel was brought forward. Using the researched technology,the removal ratio of the inclusion was increased and the components,distribution,and shape of the inclusion in the rail steel were changed,which resulted in a reduction in the average total oxygen content to 10.17×10^-6 and an increase in the comprehensive acceptance percentage of the nonmetallic inclusion from 48.21% to 98.1%. Test has shown that this metallurgical technology can meet the requirement for large scale production of 350 km/h high speed steel in panzhihua iron and steel （Group） co.
