Objective: To construct gene co-occurrence network of hypertension and liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome, to investigate the biological basis of hypertension and liver-fire hyperactivity syndrome and the characteristics of the molecular network from gene *** and Methods: Applying Gen CLip 2.0 online platform to retrieve the up-to-date literature referred to essential hypertension from PubMed database, cluster the abnormal expression of essential hypertension-related genes and analyze their function, combining Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes-pathway analysis to investigate the closely related genes and the signaling *** on the genes closely related to hypertension, standard diagnostic symptoms of liver-fire hyperactivity were used as keywords to conduct hypertension liver-fire hyperactivity-related gene cluster ***: The top 1000 genes of essential hypertension were retrieved from GenCLip 2.0 online platform, which mainly clustered in the regulation of ambulatory blood pressure, regulation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAAS), and sympathetic nervous system activity, as well as endothelial dysfunction; the closely related genes of hypertension with liver-fire hyperactivity are related to RAAS, gene REN, angiotensin converting enzyme, angiotensinogen, and cytochrome P450 family ***: A combination of literature mining and data mining can construct the gene network of hypertension and the syndrome-related genes, which provides a new method for the study of the biological basis of hypertension from the genetic level.

Clinical characteristics of 96 patients with drug-induced acute liver failure:a comparison between traditional chinese and Western Medicine

OBJECTIVE: To compare the causes, clinical symptoms, laboratory test results, and prognosis in patients with acute liver failure(ALF) induced by traditional chinese medicines(TCM) and by Western Medicines(WM).METHODS: The medical histories of patients who were diagnosed with drug-induced ALF(DALF)(n =96) after hospitalization in the 302 Military Hospital between January 2010 and December 2015 were retrospectively ***: Fifty-eight of the 96 DALF patients(60.4%) had a hepatocellular pattern of DALF, 16 patients(16.7%) had a cholestatic pattern, and 22 patients(22.9%) had a mixed pattern. DALF resolved in 24 patients(25.0%). Twenty-five patients(26.0%)developed chronic liver injury, 43 patients(44.8%)died, and 4 patients(4.2%) underwent liver transplantation. There were 42 ALF patients(43.8%) who received WM, and 32 ALF patients(33.3%) who received TCM. TCM-induced ALF patients had a higher average age [42.4 ± 18.4) vs(33.5 ± 17.9) years,P = 0.04] and higher creatinine and urine nitrogen levels [(155.2 ± 108.8) vs(97.5 ± 130.4) mmol/L, P =0.047;(9.1 ± 7.7) vs(4.3 ± 5.0) mmol/L, P = 0.002, respectively]. Patients with TCM-induced ALF exhibited an increased risk of renal injury [odds ratio(OR),3.75; 95% confidence interval(CI), 1.330-10.577].The 14 patients with TCM-induced ALF who died exhibited higher creatinine levels than the 18 patients with TCM-induced ALF patients who survived[(218.7 ± 111.6) vs(105.8 ± 78.4) mmol/L, P =0.002]. They were also more likely to exhibit ascites(85.7% vs 44.4%, P = 0.017) and hepatorenal syndrome(78.6% vs 22.2%, P = 0.002).CONCLUSION: TCM-induced ALF was more likely to be accompanied by renal injury than was WM-induced ALF, especially in TCM-induced ALF patients who died.

Effects of Gua Sha therapy on weightlifting training: a randomized trial

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of Gua Sha therapy on weightlifting ***: The sample size was calculated by conducting a pilot study. A total of 44 male weightlifters were randomly assigned to either the Gua Sha group(n = 15), sham scraping group(n = 14), or control group(n = 14). The participants in the Gua Sha group and sham scraping group received 16 sessions of Gua Sha therapy during normal weightlifting training for 8 weeks. No treatment was applied to participants in the control group. The effectiveness of Gua Sha therapy was evaluated by measuring weightlifting ability, the rating of perceived exertion(RPE) of snatch and clean and jerk(85% of1 repetition maximum), and creatinine kinase(CK),blood urea nitrogen(BUN), and immunoglobulin A ***: Gua Sha therapy treatment significantly increased weightlifting ability in participants in the Gua Sha group(P < 0.01). The RPE values of snatch and clean and jerk were significantly lower in the Gua Sha group and sham scraping groups compared with the control group(P < 0.05). CK levels were lower and immunoglobulin A levels were significantly higher in the Gua Sha group compared with sham scraping group and control group(both P < 0.05). BUN levels tended to be reduced only in the Gua Sha group. A close correlation between CK levels and the RPE was found in the Gua Sha ***: Gua Sha therapy can facilitate weightlifting ability, reduce the RPE, and inhibit muscle injury by promoting recovery from fatigue caused by normal weightlifting training. Gua Sha therapy could be an effective treatment to complement normal weightlifting training.

Intelligent prediction of RBC demand in trauma patients using decision tree methods

The replacement strategies of the fluid resuscitation for burn shock in an austere environment

It is universally recognized that excessive depletion of fluid from the circulation after severe burn injury result in burn *** initial hypovolemic phase is a potentially fatal condition coincides with early death and serves as a predisposing cause of many life-threatening complications such as tissue edema and multiple organ dysfunctions(MODS).Prompt and sufficient fluid resuscitation as early as possible is widely used to restore effective intravascular volume and improve organ perfusion as the standard treatment regime for this hypovolemic phase post severe burn ***,conventional fluid resuscitation is inevitable delayed and even impossible when mass victims occur in austere environments such as battlefield,earthquake,or *** such circumstance,severe burn injury is associated with high mortality for the lack of sufficient medical *** present,oral fluid resuscitation and HDACI in early period of burn shock are important measures in the treatment of casualties in the battlefield as well as in mass casualties in lieu of the means of establishing a venous line.
