Erect panicle super rice varieties enhance yield by harvest index advantages in high nitrogen and density conditions

The erect panicle （Ep） type is an important characteristic for japonica super rice in Northeast China and plays a significant role in enhancing yield. The Ep type is considered to be a genetic ideotype resource to the japonica super rice group by virtue of its agronomic advantages such as grain number per panicle and biomass. This study addresses the effects of nitrogen and planting density conditions on yielding performance regarding panicle type （PT） using the recombinant inbred line （RIL） population derived from the cross between an Ep variety Liaogeng 5 and non-Ep variety Wanlun 422. The genetics underlying the Ep type proved to be robust not only for panicle-type optimization but also plant height, panicle length, flag leaf length and seed density. We also found that regardless of nitrogen and density, correlation between harvest index （HI） and plant height was not significant in Ep type whatever the nitrogen and density. The application of Ep type provides a potential strategy for yield improvement by increasing biomass through HI maintainable in rice.

A manifestly covariant, or geometric, field theory of relativistic classical particle-field systems is devel- oped. The connection between the space-time symmetry and energy-momentum conservation laws of the system is established geometrically without splitting the space and time coordinates; i.e., space- time is treated as one entity without choosing a coordinate system. To achieve this goal, we need to overcome two difficulties. The first difficulty arises from the fact that the particles and the field reside on different manifolds. As a result, the geometric Lagrangian density of the system is a function of the 4-potential of the electromagnetic fields and also a functional of the particles＇ world lines. The other difficulty associated with the geometric setting results from the mass-shell constraint. The standard Euler-Lagrange （EL） equation for a particle is generalized into the geometric EL equation when the mass-shell constraint is imposed. For the particle-field system, the geometric EL equation is further generalized into a weak geometric EL equation for particles. With the EL equation for the field and the geometric weak EL equation for particles, the symmetries and conservation laws can be established geometrically. A geometric expression for the particle energy-momentum tensor is derived for the first time, which recovers the non-geometric form in the literature for a chosen coordinate system.

Separable multi-block convex optimization problem appears in many mathematical and engineering *** the first part of this paper,we propose an inertial proximal ADMM to solve a linearly constrained separable multi-block convex optimization problem,and we show that the proposed inertial proximal ADMM has global convergence under mild assumptions on the regularization *** phase retrieval arises in holography,data separation and phaseless sampling,and it is also considered as a nonhomogeneous version of phase retrieval,which has received considerable attention in recent *** by convex relaxation of vector sparsity and matrix rank in compressive sensing and by phase lifting in phase retrieval,in the second part of this paper,we introduce a compressive affine phase retrieval via lifting approach to connect affine phase retrieval with multi-block convex optimization,and then based on the proposed inertial proximal ADMM for 3-block convex optimization,we propose an algorithm to recover sparse real signals from their(noisy)affine quadratic *** numerical simulations show that the proposed algorithm has satisfactory performance for affine phase retrieval of sparse real signals.

PD-L1 is a member of the B7 protein family,most of whose members so far were identified as dimers in a solution and crystalline state,either complexed or uncomplexed with their ligand(s).The binding of PD-L1 with its receptor PD-1(CD279)delivers an inhibitory signal regulating the T cell *** with the Garboczi group,we successfully solved another structure of human PD-L1(hPD-L1).Our protein crystallized in the space group of C222_(1) with two hPD-L1 molecules per asymmetric *** comparison of reported B7 structures,we have found some intrinsic factors involved in the interaction of these two *** on these results,we tend to believe this uncomplexed hPD-L1 structure demonstrated its potential dimeric state in solution,althougt it could just be an evolutionary relic,too weak to be detected under present technology,or still a functional unit deserved our attentions.

Plant cell elongation depends on well-defined gene regulations,adequate nutrients,and timely cell wall *** size is positively correlated with the number and viability of pollen grains,while little is known about molecular mechanisms underlying anther cell ***,we found that properly activated cell elongation regulators at transcriptional levels in loss-of-function ZmMs33 mutant(ms33-6038)anthers failed to promote maize anther ***33 deficiency disrupted metabolic homeostasis mainly by inhibiting both photosynthesis in anther endothecium and lipid accumulation in anther ***,ms33-6038 anthers displayed ectopic,premature and excessive secondary cell wall thickening in anther middle layer,which constrained cell elongation structurally and blocked nutrient flows across different anther wall *** metabolic disorder was only found in ms33-6038 mutant rather than several representative male-sterility lines at transcriptional and post-translational ***,the disordered metabolisms and blocked nutrient flows defeated the activated cell elongation regulators,and finally inhibited anther elongation and growth with a unique‘‘idling effect”in ms33-6038 mutant.

Blind numbers of evaluation indices about groundwater resources carrying capacity are defined from the concomitancy of randomness, fuzziness, grey property and unascertainment of groundwater system. Based on fuzzy theory, a comprehensive evaluation model on groundwater resources carrying capacity is constructed with blind information. Then a risk assessment model of surcharge about groundwater resources carrying capacity is established on blind reliability theory. The probable value ＂＊＂ matrix of fuzzy membership degree about carrying capacity corresponding to each judgment level can be obtained with the aid of blind algorithm as well as the subjective reliability ＂×＂ matrix. And then a graph of ＂groundwater carrying capacity v.s. accumulative reliability＂ can be gained Based on the graph, fuzzy membership degree of groundwater resources carrying capacity to each judgment level under different risk probability can be got. Thus, a comparatively reasonable judgment to groundwater resources carrying capacity might be obtained, with comprehensive analysis to the state of society, economy technology and ecology.

CD4^(+)T cells play major roles in the adaptive immune system,which requires antigen recognition,costimulation,and cytokines for its elaborate *** studies have provided new insight into the importance of the supramolecular activation cluster(SMAC),which comprises concentric circles and is involved in the amplification of CD4^(+)T cell ***,the underlying mechanism of SMAC formation remains poorly ***,we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of CD4^(+)T cells left unstimulated and stimulated with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies to identify novel proteins involved in their *** found that intraflagellar transport 20(IFT20),previously known as cilia-forming protein,was upregulated in antibody-stimulated CD4^(+)T cells compared to unstimulated CD4^(+)T *** also found that IFT20 interacted with tumor susceptibility gene 101(TSG101),a protein that endocytoses ubiquitinated T-cell *** interaction between IFT20 and TSG101 promoted SMAC formation,which led to amplification of AKT-mTOR ***,IFT20-deficient CD4^(+)T cells showed SMAC malformation,resulting in reduced CD4^(+)T cell proliferation,aerobic glycolysis,and cellular ***,mice with T-cell-specific IFT20 deficiency exhibited reduced allergen-induced airway ***,our data suggest that the IFT20-TSG101 axis regulates AKT-mTOR signaling via SMAC formation.

Environmental DNA(eDNA)metabarcoding has emerged as a potentially powerful tool to monitor invasive fish *** an alternative(or complementary)tool for biodiversity monitoring,e DNA metabarcoding had been used to detect species in aquariums,which represents an important transit avenue for introducing non-indigenous species with high population *** this study,eDNA metabarcoding as well as morphological characterization were used to reveal the diversity of non-indigenous species in a large aquarium at Qingdao Underwater *** DNA metabarcoding of 14 water samples at five locations from the Big Water Tank detected 24 non-indigenous species and four putative non-indigenous operational taxonomic units(OTUs).In contrast,only 20 non-indigenous species were observed by morphological *** species undetected by morphological characterization,such as Oreochromis niloticus(Linnaeus,1758),are highly adaptable to various environments and/or have invaded preferred regions where they threaten native aquatic *** metabarcoding also detected seven local fishes that were not identified by morphological ***,analysis of OTU diversity among stations and sample replications revealed that eDNA varied within and/or between *** sampling effort as well as negative controls are required to increase the detection rate of species and to eliminate false-positive OTUs.
