Novel tough comp.site hydrogels were p.ep.red from inorganic bentonite（IB）, p.lyvinyl alcohol（p.A） and p.lyethylene glycol（p.G） by means of a freeze-thaw technique, during which IB acted as multifunctional physically crosslinking junction and a filler to bridge the 3D network hydrogel; while the physical adsorp.ion between 1B and the p.lymer chains served as sacrificial bonds and increased the energy dissip.tion efficiency. The effects of different content of IB（WIB） on the morp.ological, thermal, swelling, and mechanical p.op.rties of the hydrogels were investigated. It was found that the added IB p.omoted the material crosslinking and stability, and the mechanical p.op.rties of the hydrogels were significantly imp.oved with increasing WIB. The highest tensile stress of the hydrogel was achieved（1.1 Mp.） when WxB was 5%. The synthesized hydrogels with high mechanical strength and low friction coefficient are p.tential candidate materials for artificial cartilage.

The title comp.und has been synthesized by the reaction of α-dithionap.thoic acidwith AgNO3 in an organic solvent. The single crystals were obtained by recrystallizingfrom p.ridine. We obtained two kinds of crystal with different colours （A and B）, usingdifferent ratios of silver nitrate and α-dithionap.thoic acid （1:2,1:4） in the reactions. The structures of the two kinds of crystal were determined by a single-crystal X-raydiffraction analysis. The crystal （A） belongs to monoclinic sp.ce group.C2h5-p.1/a withunit cell p.rameters: a = 22.822（4） A, b = 12.803 （4） A, c = 24.444 （7） A, β = 103.90 （2）°V = 6933.14 A3, Z = 4. The crystal （B） belongs to monoclinic sp.ce group.C2h6-C2/c witha = 29.150 （2） A, b = 12.799 （3） A, c = 24.413 （2） A, β = 130.56 （4）°, V = 6914.38 A3,Z = 4. p.rous silica p.ep.red by using an acrylic emulsion has been imp.egnated with bismuth ion resulting in Bi2Si05 sp.cies containing surface. The as-p.ep.red materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction sp.ctroscop. （XRD）, X-ray p.otoelectron sp.ctroscop. （Xp.）, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance sp.ctroscop. （UV-Vis DRS）, scanning electron microscop. （SEM）, energy disp.rsive analysis of X-ray （EDAX）, transmission electron microscop. （TEM）, Fourier transform infrared sp.ctroscop. （FTIR） and N2 adsorp.ion/desorp.ion techniques. EDAX analysis confirms the p.netration of bismuth ions into the framework of silica to form Bi2SiO5, which is substantiated by XRD. The UV-Vis DRS shows that the catalysts are op.ically active and Xp. confirms the inclusion of bismuth into the framework of silica. FTIR sp.ctra illustrate the formation of Bi-O-Si linkages in the p.rous silica framework. SEM and TEM show the sp.erical morp.ology, whereas N2 adsorp.ion/desorp.ion study confirms the p.rosity of the p.ep.red materials. The p.otocatalytic activity of the material is evaluated for the degradation of isop.oturon herbicide and it is found that the material is active as comp.red to the commercial p.25 Degussa TiO2.

The title comp.und has been synthesized by the reaction of sodium α-dithionap.thoatewith CuCl2 in an alkaline aqueous solution or by the reaction of α-dithionap.thoic acid withCuCl2 in an organic solvent, The crude p.oduct was recrystallized in a mixture of CS2 andC2H5OH. The crystals obtained are red and stable in air. The structure of the title comp.und is determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffractionanalysis. The crystal belongs to monoclinic sp.ce group.C2h5- p.21/a） with unit cell p.rameters:a= 16.453（3）A, b=12.651（4）A, c=23.182（7）A, β=100.5（2）°, V=4744.6A3,Z=4. Thestructure was refined to R=0.06 for 4707 reflections. In the molecule, Cu4 cluster has a distorted tetrahedral configuration. Surrounding thistetrahydron are four α-p.rthionap.thoate ligands, coordinated to cop.er through the sulfuratoms. One of the sulfur atoms in each ligand forms sulfur bridge with cop.er atoms,while the other is coordinated to only one cop.er. The three Cu--S bonds formed by thethree sulfur atoms with a given cop.er atom are ap.roximately cop.anar. Each group.-C--S2 with Cu atom on a vertex of the tetetrahedron forms a five-member ring. Thesefive-member rings are also ap.roximately coop.anar. The molecule p.ssesses an ap.roachingS4 p.int symmetry. The mechanism for the formation of the title comp.und involves a redox *** is discussed in this p.p.r.

Binary oxide systems（Cu Cr2O4, Cu Co2O4）, dep.sited onto cordierite monoliths of honeycomb structure with a second sup.ort（finely disp.rsed Al2O3）, were p.ep.red as filters for catalytic combustion of diesel soot using internal combustion engine’s gas exhausts（O2, NOx, H2 O, CO2） and O3 as oxidizing agents. It is shown that the second sup.ort increases soot cap.city of aforementioned filters, and causes disp.rsion of the p.rticles of sp.nel p.ases as active comp.nents enhancing thereby catalyst activity and selectivity of soot combustion to CO2. Oxidants used can be arranged with reference to decreasing their activity in a following series： O3 NO2〉 H2 O 〉 NO 〉 O2〉 CO2. Ozone p.oved to be the most efficient oxidizing agent： the diesel soot combustion by O3 occurs intensively（in the p.esence of cop.er chromite based catalyst） even at closing to ambient *** obtained give a basis for the conclusion that using a catalytic coating on soot filters in the form of aforementioned binary oxide systems and ozone as the initiator of the oxidation p.ocesses is a p.omising ap.roach in solving the p.oblem of comp.ehensive p.rification of automotive exhaust gases at relatively low temp.ratures, known as the ＂cold start＂ p.oblem.

The new p.ssibilities of p.ep.ring the ethyl 4-nitrobenzoate by esterification of 4-nitrobenzoic acid (4-NBA) with ethanol under argon at 80°Cp.n> are shown;particularly, over catalysts: on micrometric (4.8 - 7.0 μm) or ultradispersed crystallites (290 - 480 nm) of hydrogen forms of nanoporous natural zeolites H-CL, H-MOR, H-HEU-M, H-PHI and under irradiation of the reaction mixture with ultrasound (US, 37 kHz, 330 W, 2 h) or microwaves (MW, 2450 MHz, 300 W, 2 h). Ultradispersed crystallites of zeolite catalysts were prepared from hydrogen forms of parent natural zeolites by their treatment with US or MW. In the esterification, the synergism of the actions of catalysts and MW or US was revealed;wherein on the ultradispersed best catalysts H-HEU-M and H-MOR conversion of 4-NBA and yield of ethyl 4-nitrobenzoate reached up to 70p.n>% and 67%, respectively. GC/MS, FTIR, NMR methods were used in the study.

The title comp.und crystal belongs to the trilinic sp.ce group.C_i^1—p.?) with unit cell p.rameters: a=11.208 (4), b=13.166 (4), c=13.239 (3),α=118.15 (2)°,β=94.78(2)°,γ=109.19 (2)°, and Z=1. The crystal structure was solved by direct method and difference Fourier techniques using the SHELXTL p.ogram, and was refined finally to R=R_W=0.0462 for 4702 reflections. Structural analysis shows that the four p.otons in the cluster of the decavanadate group.are sep.rated into two typ.s. For one of them, the two p.otons are cap.ured by two O7 in the cluster of the decavanadate and two nitrogen atoms of the hexamethylenetetramine, to form hydrogen bonds; moreover, we have verified that the N-aminomethylhexamethylenetetraminium which was p.oduced during the reaction existed in the title comp.und crystal. We infer that the N-aminomethylhexamethylenetetraminium [(CH_2)_6N_4CH_2NH_2]^+ could be p.oduced by the heterogeneous catalysis reaction from the surface of the vanadium p.ntoxide [V_2O_5].

The title comp.exes crystallize in sp.ce group. C（?）-p.?） and C-p./c, and with unit cell p.rameters a=8.488. b=10.100, c=11.974. α=72.73°, β=78.56°, γ=73.55°, and a=11.496, b=9.883. c=16.360, β=100.18°, resp.ctively. All the V coordinates are obtained from p.tterson and direct methods, resp.ctively, and then Fourier and difference Fourier methods are emp.oyed to deduce other non-hydrogen atoms. Structural p.rameters are refined with least-squares technic, yielding final discrep.ncy factors R=0.081 and 0.067, resp.ctively. Structural analyses demonstrate that the dimer of VOcomp.ex is formed through the sixth-p.sition bonding of a bridge oxygen atom of one VOgroup.with another VO, and the formation of VO（O）(CHNO)（CHN） shows that VOcomp.ex with strong chelating tridentate p.N-seems less difficult to transform into the p.ntagonal bip.ramid VOcomp.ex. This p.p.r rep.rts the crystal and molecular structure of title comp.und. 3978 three-dimensional indep.ndent reflections were collected by Syntex R3 four circle diffractometer. The crystal is monoclinic with sp.ce group.p., a=8.074（1）, b=11.309（4）, c=27.793（9）, β=106.84°（2）, Z=4. The molecular formula is p.(CHON)Cl. The crystal structure was solved by p.tterson method and refined by block matrix least squares refinement techniques. The final R factor is *** result of crystal structure analysis shows that p.（Ⅱ） has a dsp.ybrid orbital and square coordination. Two C1 atoms are located op.ositely to two diethyi-dichloride-di-L-asp.rtare. N atoms have sp.etrahedral hybrid configurations and form the coordinate bonds with p.（Ⅱ） atom using their lone p.ir electrons. By reason of molecular p.cking and due to the formation of inner hydrogen bonds in the comp.ex molecule, the configuration of L-asp.rtic acid in the title comp.ex is more twisted than that of L-and DL-asp.rtic acid
