Carbon-containing Al2O3 refractory crucibles and pure Al2O3 refractory crucible were fabricated to study the effect of carbon-containing Al2O3-C refractories on aluminum and carbon pick-up of *** crucibles with pure iron powder were placed in a vacuum induction furnace and heated at 1600℃ for regular time under flowing argon *** Al and C contents of iron samples were analyzed,and iron samples were a.s. investigated using a field scanning electron microscope equipped with energy-dispersive *** results showed that carbon materia.s.did affect the interac?tion of(Al2O3-C)/Fe system,carbothermal reduction in alumina occurred in the reaction system and the extent of reactions depended on the kinds of carbon materia.s.

Magnesia castables have been widely used in metallurgical industries with the advantages of high refractoriness,non-polluting steel,and resistance to alkaline *** castables were prepared using strontium carbonate(srCO_(3))as additive to enhance slag resistance and mechanical properties,and the influence of srCO_(3) on the evolution of phases,microstructure and properties of magnesia castables sintered at different temperatures was *** results show that,with the introduction of srCO_(3)(lower than 3 wt.%),elastic modulus,mechanical strength,thermal shock resistance and densification of magnesia castables were significantly enhanced owing to the formation of needle-like Ca_(0.9)sr_(0.1)Mgsi_(2)O_(6) phase and liquid phase when sintering at high temperatures,and the introduced srCO_(3) presented minor effects on the mechanical properties of castables for its highly structural stability below 1100℃.during the slag corrosion process,srCO_(3) and siO_(2) in castables reacted with Al^(3+)in molten slag to form srAl_(2)siO_(8) phase,resulting in the increased slag viscosity and suppressed continuing penetration.

The mechanical force borne by the lintel and“brackets”in the inclined channel area of CdQ and the thermal stress generated by the top-down temperature gradient were simulated by a.s.s *** following conclusions are drawn.(1)The mechanical force has very mild effect on the damage of the“brackets”.(2)The temperature gradient ca.s.d by the uneven temperature distribution of CdQ oven is the key factor affecting the“bracket”*** different expa.s.on of refractory materia.s.in various parts results in the thermal stress concentration which tea.s.the“brackets”.(3)The structure adjustment of the“brackets”has very little effect on the thermal stress distribution.(4)The multi-phase nitride bonded silicon carbide for CdQ can effectively alleviate the stress concentration at the“brackets”,realizing the long-life and stable operation.

Improved Removal Efficiency of submicron Inclusions in Non-oriented silicon steel during RH process

To improve the removal efficiency of such submicron inclusions,we designed an argon blowing method for an RH facility based on mathematical *** effect of the argon blowing on the liquid steel flow and the movement of submicron inclusions was studied using the k-ε flow model coupled with the dpM model for inclusion movement based on fluid computational dynamics in *** was found that a more uniform argon flow can be achieved in the up-leg snorkel with a new nozzle position and inner diameter,which resulted in a favorable up-lifting and mixing *** new design a.s. increased the circulation rate of molten steel in the RH *** increased turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent dispersing rate enhanced the collision probability of submicron inclusions,which results in an improved removal for 0.5-1 μm *** proposed RH facility could increase the removal rate of submicron inclusions from the original 57.1% to 66.4%,which improves the magnetic properties of non-oriented silicon steel.

A rheological method for selecting nano-kaolin powder as filler in sBR rubber

This paper shows that the stiffness ofstyrene-butadiene solid rubber with added kaolin powder is related to the yield stress of kaolin dispersion in liquid polybutadiene rubber up to the percolation threshold. For five kinds of kaolin powder, the value of τ° spa.s.the range of 100-430 pa, while the corresponding compressive elastic constant of sBR varies from 12 to 21 Mpa. A relationship between τ° and △E^i^＊/ER^＊ is proposed. Critical examination of these data infers that kaolin powder dispersed in solid rubber matrix acts as an additive which decreases the random movement of the polybutadiene chains. Consequently, dispersions of nano-particles in liquid and in solid sBR are considered to be related, thus leading to a theological method for selecting nano-particles as fillers in solid sBR.

A local thermal stress model of water-cooled-wall pulverized-coal gasifier was built, and a.s.s was used to simulate the stress field in the gasifier operation to research the damage of refractories and slag layer ca.s.d by the thermal stress. The results reveal that:（1） the maximum stress of water-cooled-wall gasifier appea.s.at the interface between anchor nails and refractories as well as the interface between refractories and the slag layer, and the maximum stress of slag layer appea.s.on the surface of the slag layer;（2） the increase of slag layer thickness can significantly reduce the thermal stress at the interface between anchor nails and refractories, but increase the thermal stress between slag layer and refractories;（3） when the therma I conductivity is 2-6 W · m-1 · K-1, the thermal stress increases rapidly with the increase of the thermal conductivity, but when the thermal conductivity is 6-10 W · m-1 · K-1, the thermal stress is basically stable;（4） the higher the cooling rate, the faster the decreasing speed of the temperature and thermal stress.
