The use of a combined additive consisting of silica-containing additives“F”(thinning)and“s”(accelerating castable hardening)instead of the previously used silica-containing additive“A”and a mixture of dispersing additives based on polyethylene glycol in low-cement silicon carbide castable allows to improve the castable workability by increasing(in 5.4 times)the flowability of a freshly prepared castable,and increase by 1.2 and 1.1 times the cold crushing strength of heat-treated at temperatures of 110 and 1580°C,respectively,castable samples from low-cement silicon carbide castable with practically equal values of open porosity(15.8%and 16.0%).The petrographic studies of the castable sample microstructure after firing at a temperature of 1580°C showed that the investigated silica-containing additives“F”and“s”contribute to the denser and more uniform structure *** a result of the carried out research,the manufacturing technology of a low-cement silicon carbide castable was improved,of which the production was mastered at JsC“URIR named after ***”.

The microstructure and phase composition of high-alumina,chromic oxide,and a.s.Cr refractories containing 30%and 60%(by ma.s.Cr_(2)O_(3) after exposure to aluminaboronsilicate gla.s.s and basalt melts depending on the type of melts and temperature have been *** mechanisms of refractory corrosion by the used melts and the factors contributing to the inhibition of corrosion development have been investigated by the method of petrographic *** the basis of obtained results,the use of high-alumina,chromic oxide,and a.s.Cr refractories in the sections of gla.s.furnace linings,experiencing the intensive impact of aluminaboronsilicate gla.s.s and basalt melts,has been confirmed and scientifically substantiated.

The self-reduction experiment of manganese-rich slag briquette containing carbon was carried out in a high- temperature carbon tube furnace. The main factors affecting the reduction rate were analyzed, and the kinetic model of reduction was established. The results show that the increase of basicity of briquette has an obvious effect on im- proving reduction rate. When the carbon ratio of briquettes is 1.2 and its basicity is 1.0, the reduction rate can reach 90 %. It can accelerate reduction process and decrease reduction time when the appropriate flux CaF2 is added to the briquette. The apparent activation energy of chemical reaction is 24.07 kJ/mol, and the apparent activation energy of internal diffusion is 107.55 kJ/mol by calculation. Therefore, the reduction rate of briquette is determined by the ma.s.tra.s.er of CO in the product layer.

The composition,structure and micro-morphology of magnesium- iron- aluminum composite oxides were investigated using various methods such as XRF,sEM,Eds,XRd and KMn O4-titration. Compared to hercynite,the composite oxides have completely different phases including solid solution（ Mg O）0. 77（ Fe O）0. 23,composite spinel Mg Fe0. 2Al1. 8O4 and a.s.all amount of Mg Fe2O4. The composite oxides exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to cement clinker and pota.s.um *** products produced by magnesite and the composite oxides show better performance than magnesia- hercynite bricks,especially the corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance.

Ziegler-Natta precatalysts were synthetized from Lewis-base-modified-MgCl2 supports and treated by various Lewis acids,prior to activation by triethylaluminum, in order to increase their activity in ethylene polymerization. BCl3 provided the highest increase in activity. Interestingly, polymerization results showed no substantial modification of polymer properties, which is consistent with that Lewis acid only promotes the creation of new active sites, after activation by TEA, possessing very similar features to the original ones achievable with conventional precatalysts(i.e. without Lewis-acid treatment).

To improve their mechanical and thermal insulation properties, aluminum silicate fibrous materia.s.with in situ synthesized K_2Ti_6O_(13) whiskers were prepared by firing a mixture of short aluminum silicate fibers and gel powders obtained from a.s.l–gel process. during the preparation process, the fiber surface was coated with K_2Ti_6O_(13) whiskers after the fibers were subjected to a heat treatment carried out at various temperatures. The effects of process parameters on the microstructure, compressive strength, and thermal conductivity were analyzed systematically. The results show that higher treatment temperatures and longer treatment durations promoted the development of K_2Ti_6O_(13) whiskers on the surface of aluminum silicate fibers; in addition, the intersection structure between whiskers modulated the morphology and volume of the multi-aperture structure among fibers, substantially increasing the fibers' compressive strength and reducing their heat conduction and convective heat tra.s.er at high temperatures.

The {111} fiNd plane texture, grain boundary characterization and grain boundary segregation of phos- phorus are investigated for the phosphorus added high strength interstitial free （IF） steel annealed at 810℃ for 60 s to 180 s. The results show that the maximum volume fraction of {111} fiNd plane texture is about 85% and the grain boundary segregation peak of phosphorus is about 14 at. % for the steel annealed at 810℃ for 120 s. The ∑3 and other low-∑CsL （coincident site lattice） boundaries are lowest for the steel annealed for 120 s. segregation of phosphorus is a.s. found at low angle grain boundaries.
