Nitrate is the primary water-soluble macronutrient essential for plant growth that is converted from excess fish feeds,fish effluents,and degrading biomaterials on the aquaponic pond floor,and when aquacultural malpractices occur,large amounts of it retain in the water system causing increase rate in eutrophication and toxifies fish and aquaculture *** nitrate sensor prototypes still require performing the additional steps of water sample deionization and dilution and were constructed with expensive *** response to the challenge of sensor enhancement and aquaponic water quality monitoring,this study developed sensitive,repeatable,and reproducible screen-printed graphite electrodes on polyvinyl chloride and parchment paper substrates with silver as electrode material and 60:40 graphite powder:nail polish formulated conductive ink for electrical traces,integrated with 9-gene genetic expression model as a function of peak anodic current and electrochemical test time for nitrate concentration prediction that is embedded into low-power Arduino ESp32 for in situ nitrate sensing in aquaponic pond *** SpE electrical traces were designed on the two types of *** electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray confirmed the electrode surface *** cyclic voltammetry using 10 to 100 mg/L KNO3 and water from three-depth regions of the actual pond established the electrochemical test time(10.5 s)and electrode potential(0.135 V)protocol necessary to produce peak current that corresponds to the strength of nitrate ions during *** findings from in situ testing revealed that the proposed sensors have strong linear predictions(R2=0.968 MSE=1.659 for nSpEv and R2=0.966 MSE=4.697 for nSpEp)in the range of 10 to 100 mg/L and best detection limit of 3.15μg/L,which are comparable to other sensors of more complex *** developed three-electrode electrochemical nitrate sensor confirms that it is reliable for bot

Existence for a Class of Non-Newtonian Fluids with a Nonlocal Friction Boundary Condition

We deal with a variational inequality describing the motion of incompressible fluids, whose viscous stress tensors belong to the subdifferential of a functional at the point given by the symmetric part of the velocity gradient, with a nonlocal friction condition on a part of the boundary obtained by a generalized mollification of the stresses. We establish an existence result of a solution to the nonlocal friction problem for this class of non-Newtonian flows. The result is based on the Faedo-Galerkin and Moreau Yosida methods, the duality theory of convex analysis and the Tychonov-Kakutani-Glicksberg fixed point theorem for multi-valued mappings in an appropriate functional space framework.

Magmatic Evolution of Garnet-Bearing highly Fractionated Granitic Rocks from Macao,Southeast China:Implications for Granite-Related Mineralization processes

The widespread W-(Mo)-Sn-Nb-Ta polymetallic mineralization in Southeast(SE)China is genetically associated with Mesozoic highly fractionated granitic *** rocks have enigmatic mineralogical and geochemical features,making its petrogenesis an intensely debated *** better understand the underlying magma evolution processes,petrography,garnet chemistry and whole-rock major and trace element data are reported for Jurassic highly fractionated granitic rocks and associated microgranite and aplitepegmatite dikes from Macao and compared with coeval similar granitic rocks from nearby areas in SE *** the fact that the most evolved rocks in Macao are garnet-bearing aplite-pegmatite dikes,the existence of coeval two-mica and garnet-bearing biotite and muscovite granites displaying more evolved compositions(e.g.,lower Zr/Hf ratios)indicates that the differentiation sequence reached higher degrees of fractionation at a regional *** crystal fractionation played an important role,late-stage fluid/melt interactions,involving F-rich fluids,imparted specific geochemical characteristics to Macao and SE China highly fractionated granitic rocks such as the non-CHARAC(CHArge-and-RAdius-Controlled)behavior of trace elements,leading,for example,to non-chondritic Zr/Hf ratios,Rare Earth Elements(REE)tetrad effects and Nb-Ta enrichment and *** process contributed to the late-stage crystallization of accessory phases only found in these highly evolved *** the latter,two populations of garnet were identified in MGI(Macao GroupⅠ)highly fractionated granitic rocks:small grossular-poor euhedral grains and large grossular-rich skeletal garnet grains with quartz *** first group was mainly formed through precipitation from highly evolved Mn-rich slightly peraluminous melts under low-pressure and relatively low temperature(~700℃)*** of upper crust metasedimentary materials may have contributed as a source of Mn and

Liquid water structure from X-ray absorption and emission, NMR shielding and X-ray diffraction

Here we investigate to what extent X-ray absorption（XAS） and emission（XES） spectroscopy, the oxygen-oxygen radial distribution function and σ（1H） and σ(17O) NMR shielding can be represented by a common set of model structures of liquid water. This is done by using a Monte Carlo-based fitting technique which fits the spectra based on a library of ～1400 precomputed spectra and assigns weights to contributions from different model structures. These are then used to reweight the contributions from the structures in the library to reveal classes of structures that are over-or under-represented in the library. The goal is to include different experimental data sets which are sensitive to different aspects of liquid water structure and thus narrow down which types of structures must exist in the real liquid.

A comparative study on emergent pollutants photo-assisted degradation using ruthenium modified titanate nanotubes and nanowires as catalysts

Titanate Nanorods Modified with Nanocrystalline ZnS particles and Their photocatalytic Activity on pollutant Removal

Aiming to produce materials with enhanced photocatalytic properties, the synthesis of new crystalline nanocomposites by combining titanate nanorods（TNR） with ZnS nanocrystallites is described in this *** TNR modification was accomplished by an in situ nucleation and growth process of ZnS *** diethyldithiocarbamate was used as the metal chalcogenide precursor. The prepared materials were structural, morphological and optical characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and powder diffuse reflectance spectra. Crystalline Zn S nanoparticles were obtained as a homogeneous and continuous layer, covering completely the TNR surface. The application of these new nanocomposite materials on photocatalytic degradation of pollutants was investigated. First, the evaluation of hydroxyl radical formation, using the terephthalic acid as probe, was studied. Afterwards, the adsorption and photodegradation of safranine-T, used here as a model pollutant molecule, was investigated. The obtained data indicate that the prepared nanocomposites have potential to be used as photocatalysts for organic pollutant *** best removal results（97% removal） were obtained using the 0.01 Zn S/HTNR sample as catalyst（0.2 g/L; 10 ppm safranin-T solution） with a combination of a low dye adsorption（20%） and a high dye photocatalytic degradation（77%）.

A multiobjective routing model for Multiprotocol Label Switching networks with multiple service types and traffic splitting is presented in this paper. The routing problem is formulated as a multiobjective mixed-integer program, where the considered objectives are the minimization of the bandwidth routing cost and the minimization of the load cost in the network links with a constraint on the maximal splitting of traffic trunks. Two different exact methods are developed for solving the formulated problem, one based on the classical constraint method and another based on a modified constraint method. A very extensive experimental study, with results on network performance measures in various reference test networks and in randomly generated networks, is also presented and its results are discussed.

Aims Mediterranean coastal dunes are habitats of great conservation interest,with a distinctive and rich *** the last century,Acacia spp.,native from Australia,have been introduced in portugal,with the objective of stabilizing sand dunes,and since have become dominant in numerous sand dune *** invasion process led to the reduction of native plant species richness,changed soil characteristics and modified habitat’s microclimatic *** aim of this research was to typify and compare,in Mediterranean sand dune ecosystems,the ecophysiological responses to drought of Helichrysum italicum and Corema album,two native species,and Acacia longifolia,an exotic invasive *** addressed the following specific objectives:(i)to com-pare water relations and water use efficiencies,(ii)to evaluate water stress,(iii)to assess water use strategies and water sources used by plants and(iv)to evaluate the morphological adaptations at leaf and phyllode *** In order to obtain an integrative view of ecophysiological patterns,water relations and performance measuring methods have been applied:predawn(ψpD)and midday(ψMD)water potential,chloro-phyll a fluorescence,oxygen isotopic composition of xylem,rain and groundwater(δ18O)and leaf carbon isotopic discrimination(Δ13C).The leaf characteristics of the three species,as well as the histochemistry of non-glandular trichome cell walls,were also studied to identify morpho-traits related to drought *** Findings The results support our initial hypothesis:although *** clearly possesses a degree of resistance to water stress,such ability is provided by a different water strategy,when compared to native *** relied on morphological adaptations to restrict water loss,whereas the invasive species adjusted the water uptake as a way to balance their limited ability of restricting water *** corroborate that woody native species(i)have a conservative water-saving strategy an
