Einstein’s theory of general relativity is playing an increasingly important role in fields such as interplanetary navigation,astrometry,and *** spacecraft and interplanetary probe prediction and estimation platforms employ a perturbed Newtonian framework,supplemented with the Einstein-Infeld-Hoffmann n-body equations of *** time in Newtonian mechanics is formally universal,the accuracy of modern radiometric tracking systems necessitate linear corrections via increasingly complex and error-prone post-Newtonian techniques—to account for light deflection due to the solar system *** flagship projects such as the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission now operating at unprecedented levels of accuracy,we believe the standard corrected Newtonian paradigm is approaching its limits in terms of *** this paper,we employ a novel prototype software,General Relativistic Accelerometer-based Propagation Environment,to reconstruct the Cassini cruise-phase trajectory during its first gravitational wave experiment in a fully relativistic *** results presented herein agree with post-processed trajectory information obtained from NASA’s SPICE kernels at the order of centimetres.

Recent breakthroughs in the creation of ultracold atomic gases in the laboratory have ushered in major changes in physical science. Many novel experiments are now possible, with an unprecedented control of interaction, geometry and purity. Quantum many-body theory is facing severe challenges in quantitatively understanding new experimental results. Here, we review some recently developed theoretical techniques that provide successful predictions for density response of a strongly correlated atomic Fermi gas. These include the strong-coupling random-phase approximation theory, high- temperature quantum virial expansion, and asymptotically exact Tan relations applicable at large momentum.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)spectroscopy is presented as a sensitive and spe-cific molecular tool for clinical diagnosis and prognosis monitoring of various diseases including *** order for clinical application of SERS technique,an ideal method of bulk synthesis of SERS nanoparticles is necessary to obtain sensitive,stable and highly reproducible Raman *** this contribution,we determined the ideal conditions for bulk synthesis of Raman reporter(Ra)molecules embedded silver-gold core-shell nanoparticles(Au@Ra@AgNPs)using hydroquinone as reducing agent of silver *** using UV-Vis spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy(TEM),we found that a 2∶1 ratio of silver nitrate to hydroquinone is ideal for a uniform silver coating with a strong and stable Raman *** stability testing of the optimized Au@Ra@AgNPs over a two-week period,these SERS nanotags were found to be stable with minimal signal change *** sta-bility of antibody linked SERS nanotags is also crucial for cancer and disease diagnosis,thus,we further conjugated the as-prepared SERS nanotags with anti-EpCAM antibody,in which the stability of bioconjugated SERS nanotags was tested over eight *** UV-Vis and SERS spectroscopy showed stable absorption and Raman signals on the anti-EpCAM conju-gated SERS nanotags,indicating the great potential of the synthesized SERS nanotags for future applications which require large,reproducible and uniform quantities in order for cancer biomarker diagnosis and monitoring.

Accurate prediction of surface subsidence due to the extraction of underground coal seams is a significant challenge in geotechnical engineering. This task is further compounded by the growing trend for coal to be extracted from seams either above or below previously extracted coal seams, a practice known as multiseam mining. In order to accurately predict the subsidence above single and multi-seam longwall panels using numerical methods, constitutive laws need to appropriately represent the mechanical behaviour of coal measure strata. The choice of the most appropriate model is not always straightforward. This paper compares predictions of surface subsidence obtained using the finite element method, considering a range of well-known constitutive models. The results show that more sophisticated and numerically taxing constitutive laws do not necessarily lead to more accurate predictions of subsidence when compared to field measurements. The advantages and limitations of using each particular constitutive law are discussed. A comparison of the numerical predictions and field measurements of surface subsidence is also provided.

In this study,we demonstrated the label-free continuous separation and enrichment of Bacillus subtilis populations based on length using viscoelastic ***,a gram-positive,rod-shaped bacterium,has been widely used as a model organism and an industrial *** can be arranged in different morphological forms,such as single rods,chains,and clumps,which reflect differences in cell types,phases of growth,genetic variation,and changing environmental *** ability to prepare *** populations with a uniform length is important for basic biological studies and efficient industrial ***,we systematically investigated how flow rate ratio,poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)concentration,and channel length affected the length-based separation of *** *** lateral positions of *** cells with varying morphologies in a straight rectangular microchannel were found to be dependent on cell length under the co-flow of viscoelastic and Newtonian ***,we evaluated the ability of the viscoelastic microfluidic device to separate the two groups of *** cells by length(i.e.,1-5μm and>5μm)in terms of extraction purity(EP),extraction yield(EY),and enrichment factor(EF)and confirmed that the device could separate heterogeneous populations of bacteria using elasto-inertial effects.
