Multiphysics simulation and optimization of the in-situ beneficiation process of ilmenite minerals from lunar regolith

The exploration and utilization of lunar resources have beco.e the major objectives of future lunar exploration missions. The classified co.lection and processing of lunar minerals is the basic prerequisite for the in-situ exploration and utilization of lunar resources. In this study, we propose a scheme for in-situ separation of magnetic minerals from lunar soils using the dry magnetic separation method. The scheme can realize the purpose of separating magnetic minerals from lunar regolith by altering the motion trajectory of lunar regolith particles with different magnetic properties. Detailed modeling of the dry magnetic separation device is co.ducted, and the three-dimensional distribution of magnetic parameters is calculated and analyzed. Based on the characterization and analysis of the Chang E-5's samples, the morphologies and physical parameters of lunar regolith particles are modeled and simulated. A discrete element simulation of the motion process of lunar regolith particles under multi-physical field co.ditions is performed, and the influences of key parameters on the beneficiation performance of lunar magnetic minerals are investigated. Our results indicate that optimal separation and beneficiation of lunar regolith particles can be achieved under specific co.ditions of magnetic field strength and drum speed. Additionally, we analyze the effects of lunar weak gravity co.ditions and the charged nature of lunar particles on the beneficiation process, showing that these factors can obviously enhance the beneficiation process of lunar ilmenites. This study demonstrates the feasibility of using the dry magnetic separation method for the beneficiation of magnetic minerals from lunar regolith, providing a theoretical basis for the scientific tasks of co.lecting, processing, and utilizing lunar mineral resources.

Pulsed dynamic electrolysis enhanced PEMWE hydrogen production:Revealing the effects of pulsed electric fields on protons mass transport and hydrogen bubble escape

The transition of hydrogen sourcing from carbon-intensive to water-based methodologies is underway,with renewable energy-powered proton exchange membrane water electrolysis （PEMWE） emerging as the preeminent pathway for hydrogen *** remarkable advancements in this field,co.fronting the sluggish electrochemical kinetics and inherent high-energy co.sumption arising from deteriorated mass transport within PEMWE systems remains a formidable *** impediment stems primarily from the hindered protons mass transfer and the untimely hydrogen bubbles *** address these challenges,we harness the inherent variability of electrical energy and introduce an innovative pulsed dynamic water electrolysis *** to co.stant voltage electrolysis (hydrogen production rate:51.6 m L h-1,energy co.sumption:5.37 kWh Nm-3H2),this strategy (hydrogen production rate:66 m L h-1,energy co.sumption:3.83 kWh Nm-3H2) increases the hydrogen production rate by approximately 27%and reduces the energy co.sumption by about 28%.Furthermore,we demonstrate the practicality of this system by integrating it with an off-grid photovoltaic （PV） system designed for outdoor operation,successfully driving a hydrogen production current of up to 500 mA under an average voltage of approximately 2 *** co.bined results of in-situ characterization and finite element analysis reveal the performance enhancement mechanism:pulsed dynamic electrolysis （PDE） dramatically accelerates the enrichment of protons at the electrode/solution interface and facilitates the release of bubbles on the electrode *** such,PDE-enhanced PEMWE represents a synergistic advancement,co.currently enhancing both the hydrogen generation reaction and associated transport *** promising technology not only redefines the landscape of electrolysis-based hydrogen production but also holds immense potential for broadening its application across a diverse spectrum of electrocatalytic endeavors.

Improvement of co.d Recycled Mixture Performance Based on Improved Density Test Method and RAP Characteristics

Experimental Study for Effect of Multi-Site Spark Ignition on Dedicated Hybrid Engine Performance under High Dilution co.dition

In this study,a triple spark ignition scheme was first designed on a three-cylinder 1.5-L dedicated hybrid engine（DHE）.On this basis,the effect of different ignition modes on engine co.bustion and emission characteristics was studied,especially under high dilution *** results tested at 2000 r/min and 0.8 MPa BMEP（brake mean effective pressure） show that with highly increased in-cylinder flow intensity,using only passive prechamber（PPC） has a lower lean limit than that with single central spark plug（CSP）,thereby leading to slightly higher minimum fuel co.sumption and nitrogen oxides（NOx） *** side spark plugs（SSP）based on PPC can result in improved capability of lean limit extension and engine performance than ***,the improvement level is lower than that with triple spark plugs（TSP）.As the excess air ratio λincreases,the advantage of PPC and PPC with SSP in improving the co.bustion phasing co.pared with CSP gradually ***,the increasing tendency of their ignition delay and co.bustion duration is more *** added SSP based on PPC can effectively shorten the ignition delay of leaner mixture,but the co.bustion duration can be only slightly *** a result,under extremely lean co.dition,the advantage of PPC and PPC with SSP in terms of co.bustion characteristics over CSP beco.es much *** co.trast,the TSP ignition can achieve much shorter ignition delay and co.bustion duration simultaneously under this *** to the highest available dilution level,the TSP ignition achieves the lowest raw ***,it can also reduce the raw carbon monoxide（co. and hydrocarbons（HC） emissions co.pared to CSP due to a more thorough co.bustion of the end gas *** on the excellent performance of TSP,the highest engine brake thermal efficiency（BTE） was further *** results show that with normal RON 92 fuel,the engine finally achieved 43.69% and 45.02% BTE under stochiometric mode with exhaust

Bending Stiffness of co.crete-Filled Steel Tube and Its Influence on co.crete Placement Timing of co.posite Beam-String Structure

When the upper chord beam of the beam-string structure(BSS)is made of co.crete-filled steel tube(CFST),its overall stiffness will change greatly with the co.struction of co.crete placement,which will have an impact on the design of the tensioning plans and selection of co.trol measures for the *** order to accurately obtain the bending stiffness of CFST beam and clarify its impact on the mechanical properties of co.posite BSS during co.struction,the influence of some factors such as height-width ratio,wall thickness of steel tube,elasticity modulus of co.crete,and friction co.fficient on the bending stiffness are analyzed parametrically by the numerical simulation technology based on an actual *** calculation formula of the equivalent bending stiffness of CFST is also established through mathematical statistical ***,the equivalent bending stiffness is introduced into the co.struction and use stages of the co.posite BSS,respectively,and the mechanical properties such as prestress-tensioning co.trol value,structural deformation,and internal force of key members are co.paratively analyzed when adopting two different co.struction ***,the optimal co.struction plan of co.crete placement first and then prestress-tensioning is proposed.

Microstructure and Wear/co.rosion Resistance of Stainless Steel Laser-alloyed with Mn+W_(2)C, Mn+NiWC and Mn+SiC

In-situ formed high Mn steel co.ting reinforced by carbides was formed by laser surface alloying(LSA).Laser alloyed layers on 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel with Mn+W_(2)C(specimen A),Mn+NiWC(specimen B)and Mn+SiC(specimen C)powders were fabricated to improve the wear and co.rosion behavior of 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel blades in high speed *** evolution,phases,element distribution,microhardness,wear and co.rosion behavior of the laser alloyed layers were *** indicated that high Mn steel matrix co.posites with undissolved W_(2)C,WC and other in-situ formed carbides were formed by LSA with Mn+W_(2)C and Mn+NiWC while SiC totally dissolved into the high Mn matrix when adding Mn+*** as the binding phase in Ni-WC powder decreased the crack sensitivity of the alloyed layer as co.pared with the addition of W_(2)C *** improvement in average microhardness was achieved in the matrix in specimen A,B and C,with the value of 615,602 and 277 HV_(0.5),while that of the substrate was 212 HV_(0.5).The increase of microhardness,wear and co.rosion resistance is highly co.elated to microstructure,formed phases,type and co.tent of carbides,micro-hardness and toughness of the alloyed layers.

Preparation of co.S co.doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and co.co.doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of MOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of MOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)for methylene blue(MB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the MB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alco.ol solvent evaporation(MOF-AEP)mixing route co.ld degrade 95.60%MB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(MOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y revealed that the co.S co.tent of MOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of MOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in MOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of MOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of co.for PMS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to co.alt in the form of co.S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more co.tributions to activate PMS co.pared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and MOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the seco.dary one in degrading MB.

Automatic and Rapid Throughflow-Based Optimal Design Method for Multi-Stage Axial-Flow co.pressors

Throughflow design has the advantages of less time co.sumption and large optimization space,and thus is the co.ner stone of advanced design system of multi-stage axial-flow *** majority of relevant studies were limited to the throughflow inverse designs,and quite few works have been till now devoted to the throughflow optimal *** this work,an automatic and rapid throughflow-based optimal design method is proposed for axial-flow co.pressors in which a throughflow inverse design solver is embedded in optimal genetic algorithm to improve the design efficiency of axial-flow *** types of design parameters in the throughflow inverse design of axial-flow co.pressors,i.e.,swirl and shroud curve,are simultaneously used to optimize both the blade shape and flow *** proposed method is validated by the redesign optimization of the benchmark axial-flow co.pressor NASA Stage 35,and the CFD predictions show that the throughflow-based optimization leads to 1.18% efficiency benefit at design *** proposed method is then utilized to the two-dimensional throughflow optimal design of a large-scale 6.5-stage axial-flow industrial *** optimal design results are co.firmed by CFD predictions,indicating that the proposed method can effectively improve the design adiabatic efficiency of the co.pressors by 1.09% within a few minutes on desk-top *** throughflow design implications are also obtained for advanced axial-flow industrial *** work co.ld enhance the capability of throughflow design method and has engineering application value to explore the throughflow optimization space of multi-stage axial-flow co.pressors.

Boosting Photocatalytic Performance of Cu-Mn co.doped CeO_(2) Nanoparticles for Tetracycline Degradation

Cu-Mn co.doped CeO_(2) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method to assess its capability in degrading *** and TEM results showed that Cu and Mn were successfully co.doped into CeO_(2) without forming heterostructure,XPS and photoelectrochemical results revealed that Mn ions doping amplified the generation of photo-induced charge carriers,while Cu ions doping significantly facilitated the interfacial charge transfer ***,the optimized Cu3Mn2CeO_(2) nanoparticles exhibited the highest TC removal efficiency,achieved a rate of 78.18%and maintained a stable cycling performance.

The paper presents experimental investigation results of crack pattern change in cement pastes caused by external sulfate attack(ESA).To visualize the formation and development of cracks in cement pastes under ESA,an X-ray co.puted tomography(X-ray CT)was used,i e,the tomography system of Zeiss Xradia 510 *** results indicate that X-CT can monitor the development process and distribution characteristics of the internal cracks of cement pastes under ESA with attack *** addition,the C3A co.tent in the cement significantly affects the damage mode of cement paste specimens during sulfate *** damage of ordinary Portland cement(OPC)pastes subjected to sulfate attack with high C3A co.tent are severe,while the damage of sulfate resistant Portland cement(SRPC)pastes is much smaller than that of OPC ***,a quadratic function describes the co.relation between the crack volume fraction and development depth for two cement pastes immermed in sulfate solution.
