This study focused on measurement of the autothermal reforming of biogas over a Ni based monolithic catalyst. The effects of the steam/CH4 （S/C） ratio, O2/CH4 （O2/C） ratio and temperature were investigated. The CH4 conversions were higher under all examined temperatures than the equilibrium conversion calculated using the blank outlet temperature, because the catalyst layer was heated by the exothermic catalytic partial oxidation reaction. The CH 4conversion increased with increasing O2/C ratio. Moreover, the CH4 conversion was higher than the equilibrium conversion calculated using the blank outlet temperature for O2/C〉0.42 and reached about 100% at O2/C=0.55. However, the hydrogen concentration decreased for O2/C〉0.45 because hydrogen was combusted to steam in the presence of excess oxygen. On the other hand, the hydrogen and CO2 concentrations increased and the CO concentration decreased with increasing SIC ratio. As a result, it was found that the highest hydrogen concentrations and CH4 conversions were attained at the O2/C ratios of 0.45-0.55 and the SIC ratios of 1.5-2.5. Moreover, the H2/CO ratio could also be controlled in the range from about 2 to 3.5 to give at least 90% CH4 conversion, by regulating the O2/C or S/C ratios.

Objective: The objective of the work was to optimize the extraction conditions of Caesalpinia sappan *** in order to maximize the brazilin content and antibacterial activity of the ***: Two independent factors were studied: extraction temperature(45–95 °C) and extraction time(30–60 min). In addition, five dependent factors were monitored, including extraction yield, brazilin content, and clear zones against Staphylococcus aureus TISTR 1466, Staphylococcus epidermidis TISTR 518 and Propionibacterium acnes DMST 14961. The brazilin content was quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography and antibacterial activity was determined by disk diffusion ***: The high temperature provided high total extract yield as well as brazilin content, while extraction time had little effect on yield or brazilin content. Extraction time had a positive effect, while extraction temperature had little effect on clear zone against S. aureus. The largest clear zone against S. epidermidis was achieved at low extraction temperature and long extraction time. Conversely, short extraction time and high extraction temperature provided the largest clear zone against P. acnes. The optimal conditions providing the highest brazilin content was an extraction temperature and extraction time of 95 °C and 30 min, *** same optimal conditions also provided the simultaneous greatest antibacterial activity against the three bacteria. Modeled optimal conditions were validated be conducting extraction using these values. Yield and antibacterial activity of the resulting extract demonstrated that the model had a low percentage ***: The optimal condition will be used as a standard condition for extraction of C. sappan heartwood to maximize brazilin content and antibacterial activity.

Inertial microfluidics utilizing passive hydrodynamic forces has been attracting significant attention in the field of precise microscale manipulation owing to its low cost,simplicity and high *** this paper,we present a novel channel design with a series of reverse wavy channel structures for sheathless inertial particle focusing and cell sorting.A single wavy channel unit consists of four semicircular segments,which produce periodically reversed Dean secondary flow along the cross-section of the *** balance between the inertial lift force and the Dean drag force results in deterministic equilibrium focusing positions,which also depends on the size of the flow-through particles and *** sizes of fluorescent microspheres(15,10,7,5,3 and 1μm)were used to study the sizedependent inertial focusing *** novel design with sharp-turning subunits could effectively focus particles as small as 3μm,the average size of platelets,enabling the sorting of cancer cells from whole blood without the use of sheath *** an optimized channel design,we demonstrated the size-based sorting of MCF-7 breast cancer cells spiked in diluted whole blood samples without using sheath flows.A single sorting process was able to recover 89.72% of MCF-7 cells from the original mixture and enrich MCF-7 cells from an original purity of 5.3% to 68.9% with excellent cell viability.

The global market of functional foods and demand for a healthy lifestyle among consumers in recent years is growing. Guava is a highly perishable fruit and a rich source of vitamin C. Guava Cheese (GC) is a semi-solid concentrated fruit product that could be consumed as a snack. The objectives were to develop a guava cheese (GC) and determine the antioxidant potential of the product. Formulation consisted of guava puree with added sucrose or agave, chia seeds and almonds. Pectin was added at select concentrations (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%) along with citric acid to enhance the consistency of GC. Physiochemical and sensory parameters were analyzed for extended shelf life (3 months) studies. Moisture content, pH, water activity, color (L*, a*, b*) and texture profile analysis (hardness, springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, chewiness) did not change over the 90-day period. Ash, protein and fat contents of 0% pectin were 2% lower than GC with pectin. Sensory parameters (firmness, mouthfeel, flavor and overall acceptability) of GC 0% pectin and 1% GC were similar. Total content in 0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% pectin added GC were 150.49 ± 32.76, 340.17 ± 54.65, 346.39 ± 53.04, and 355.72 ± 14.24 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/100g. Flavonoid content in 0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% GC were 159.73 ± 13.31, 332.77 ± 13.31, 341.65 ± 15.37, and 350.52 ± 16.60 mg catechin equivalent (CE)/100g. Similarly, antioxidant of potential measure by DPPH radical scavenging was similar in all samples (IC50 at 0.8 mg/ml). Guava cheese may be utilized as a healthy fruit snack because of added alternative sweeteners and functional ingredients to obtain health benefits. Adding pectin to guava cheese improved functionality by increasing antioxidant potential as well as physical properties.

In this paper, the operating conditions, technical requirements, performance characteristics, design ideas, application experiences and development trends of aerospace engine bearings, including material technology, integration design and reliability, are reviewed. The development history of aerospace engine bearing is recalled briefly at first. Then today＇s material technologies and the high bearing performances of the bearings obtained through the new materials are introduced, which play important roils in the aeroengine bearing developments. The integration design ideas and practices are explained to indicate its significant advantages and importance to the aerospace engine bearings. And the reliability of the shaft-bearing system is pointed out and treated as the key requirement with goals for both engine and bearing. Finally, as it is believed that the correct design comes from practice, the pre-qualification rig testing conducted by FAG Aerospace GmbH ＆ Co. KG is briefly illustrated as an example. All these lead to the development trends of aerospace engine bearings from different aspects.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Three-dimensional Cobalt Coordination Polymer Assembled by Ozagrel Ligands

A three-dimensional cobalt coordination polymer [Co（IMPAA）2]n（1, HIMPAA =（2E）-3-[4-（1H-imidazol-1-ylmethyl）phenyl]acrylic acid） was synthesized with ozagrel and structurally characterized by element analysis, IR, PXRD, TGA and X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is of monoclinic system, space group P21 with a = 5.136（4）, b = 25.577（19）, c = 8.174（6） A, V = 1078.6（14） A3, Mr = 513.41, Z = 2, Dc = 1.581 g/cm3, F（000） = 686, μ = 0.840 mm-1, S = 1.119, Rint = 0.0637 and w R = 0.1456. In complex 1, four IMPAA- and four Co（II） ions form a S-shaped 52-membered macrocycle [Co4（IMPAA）4]4＋. Two carboxlate oxygen atoms link the macrocycles to form a one-dimensional chain. IMPAA- ligands bridge one-dimensional chains to yield a novel three-dimensional metal-organic framework（MOFs）. The complex is stable up to 350 ℃.
