Standard friction prediction model of long-distance hot oil pipelines

We developed a predictive model for the pipeline friction in the 520-730 m^3/h transmission range using the multi-layerperceptron-back-propagation(MLP-BP)method and analyzing the unit friction data after the pigging of a hot oil *** view of the shortcomings of the MLP-BP model,two optimization methods,the genetic algorithm(GA)and mind evolutionary algorithm(MEA),were used to optimize the MLP-BP *** research results were applied to the standard friction prediction of three sections of a hot oil *** the GA and MEA optimizations,the average errors of the three sections were 0.0041 MPa for the GA and 0.0012 MPa for the MEA,and the mean-square errors were 0.083 and 0.067,*** MEA-BP model prediction results were characterized by high precision and small *** MEABP prediction model was applied to the analysis of the wax formation 60 and 90 days after *** analysis results showed that the model can effectively guide pipe pigging and *** was little sample data for the individual transmission and oil temperature steps because the model was based on actual production data modeling and analysis,which may have affected the accuracy and adaptability of the model.

Marine unbonded flexible pipes serve as the most essential equipment in offshore oil and gas exploration and *** compressive loads during installation or in service in the complex marine environment usually lead to buckling failure.A flexible pipe is a composite structure with multiple functional layers,of which the tensile armor layer plays a key role with regard to the response of the pipe subjected to axial *** this paper,a simplified three-dimensional finite element model is developed,focusing on the tensile layer and replacing the carcass layer,pressure sheath layer,and pressure armor layer by a cylindrical rigid body to reduce computational *** using this model,the buckling failure modes of the tensile armor layer(in particular the birdcaging phenomenon)are *** key parameters that affect the stability of the flexible pipe under axial compression and torsion are emphasized,and their effects on its axial and torsional stiffness are compared and *** results show that both the lay angle of the steel wires and the interlayer friction coefficient have a significant influence on the axial and torsional stiffness of the pipe,whereas the damaged length of the outer sheath has virtually no effect.

An optimal flow rate allocation model of the oilfield treated oil pipeline network

oilfield treated oil pipeline network is the link connecting the upstream oilfields and the downstream *** to the differences in operating costs and transportation fee between different pipelines and the fluctuation in the demand and sales prices of the treated oil,there is an optimal flow allocation plan for the pipeline network to make the oilfield company obtain the highest social and economic *** this study,a mixed integer nonlinear programming(MINLP)model is developed to determine the optimal flow rate allocation plan of the large-scale and complex treated oil pipeline network,and both the social and economic benefits are considered *** optimization objective is the multi-objective which includes the largest user satisfaction and the highest economic *** model constraints include the oilfield production capacity,refinery demand,pipeline transmission capacity,flow,pressure,and temperature of the node and station,and the pipeline hydraulic and thermal *** 3.7 is utilized for the programming of the off-line calculation procedure and the MINLP model,and GUROBI 9.0.2 is served as the MINLP ***,the model is applied to a real treated oil pipeline network located in China,and three optimization scenarios are *** social benefit,the values of the user satisfaction of each refinery and the total network are 1 before and after optimization for scenarios 1,2,and *** economic benefit,the annual revenue can be increased by 0.227,0.293,and 0.548 billion yuan after the optimization in scenario 1,2,and 3,respectively.

A Singular Perturbation Method for Parametric Investigation on J-lay Installation of Deepwater Pipelines

The maximum bending moment or curvature in the neighborhood of the touch down point （TDP） and the maximum tension at the top are two key parameters to be controlled during deepwater J-lay installation in order to ensure the safety of the pipe-laying operation and the normal operation of the pipelines. In this paper, the non-linear governing differential equation for getting the two parameters during J-lay installation is proposed and solved by use of singular perturbation technique, from which the asymptotic expression of stiffened catenary is obtained and the theoretical expression of its static geometric configuration as well as axial tension and bending moment is derived. Finite element results are applied to verify this method. Parametric investigation is conducted to analyze the influences of the seabed slope, unit weight, flexural stiffness, water depth, and the pipe-laying tower angle on the maximum tension and moment of pipeline by this method, and the results show how to control the installation process by changing individual parameters.

Experimental and Numerical Studies on the Diffusion of CO2 from oil to Water

Injecting CO2 into oil reservoirs can improve the oil recovery,meanwhile achieve CO2 *** diffusion of CO2 in oil-water systems has a substantial impact on this *** interface significantly affects the mass transfer of CO2 between oil and water *** this paper,based on the determination of the CO2 diffusion coefficient in oil or water phases,the diffusion processes of CO2 from oil to water were experimentally investigated under different pressures.A numerical method was proposed to calculate the pressure drop and the diffusion coefficient in the process of CO2 diffusion from oil to *** experimental results indicated that the CO2 diffusion coefficient in oil or water increased rapidly with pressure up to the critical pressure of CO2 and gradually slowed down *** CO2 diffusion from oil to water was much slower than that in oil or *** diffusion coefficient of CO2 from oil to water was one magnitude lower than that in the single liquid phase of oil or water,and the effect of pressure was not *** on the diffusion coefficient of CO2 in a single liquid phase and the proposed numerical method,the pressure drop and the numerical diffusion coefficient in the process of CO2 diffusion from oil to water were *** relative errors between the experimental and numerical results were within 9%.Therefore,the numerical method proposed herein can be used to predict the diffusion process of CO2 from oil to water and the diffusion coefficient associated with this process.

Underground natural gas storage(UNGS)is an important part of the natural gas supply system to ensure a balanced energy *** surface system,as an important part of the gas storage,undertakes the functions of gas injection and gas production of the gas storage,and its investment economy is of vital *** fact,the UNGS surface pipeline network has two-way injection and production characteristics,which is different from the one-way production characteristics of conventional oil&gas gathering and transportation *** paper takes the minimum investment of the pipeline network as the objective function,considers the gas injection and gas withdrawal flow conditions and esablishes a mixed integer non-linear programming model(MINLP)for the surface pipeline network of the UNGS to optimize its pipeline layout and diameter *** including the well affiliation,the number of stations,the gathering radius,the processing capacity and the flow/pressure equilibrium equations,are also taken into *** an UNGS in China as an example,the results of the optimal structure and diameter of the pipeline network,as well as the pipe flow,node pressure,and maximum/minimum flowrate during gas injection and gas withdrawal are ***,the effects of constraints such as processing capacity and radius on the structure layout and investment of the UNGS are analyzed,verifying the reliability and effectiveness of the model.

Endoplasmic reticulum stress and autophagy in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury:PERK as a potential target for intervention

Several studies have shown that activation of unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress plays a crucial role in severe cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** occurs within hours after cerebral ischemia,but the relationship between ER stress and autophagy remains *** this study,we established experimental models using oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation in PC12 cells and primary neurons to simulate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** found that prolongation of oxygen-glucose deprivation activated the ER stress pathway protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase(PERK)/eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit alpha(e IF2α)-activating transcription factor 4(ATF4)-C/EBP homologous protein(CHOP),increased neuronal apoptosis,and induced ***,inhibition of ER stress using inhibitors or by si RNA knockdown of the PERK gene significantly attenuated excessive autophagy and neuronal apoptosis,indicating an interaction between autophagy and ER stress and suggesting PERK as an essential target for regulating *** autophagy with chloroquine exacerbated ER stress-induced apoptosis,indicating that normal levels of autophagy play a protective role in neuronal injury following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** from this study indicate that cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury can trigger neuronal ER stress and promote autophagy,and suggest that PERK is a possible target for inhibiting excessive autophagy in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Polymer microspheres(PMs),such as polyacrylamide,have been widely applied for enhanced oil recovery(EOR),yet with environmental ***,we report a microfluid displacement technology containing a bio-based eco-friendly material,i.e.,calcium alginate(CaAlg)microspheres for *** dominant mechanisms responsible for EOR over Ca Alg fluid have been verified,including the microscopic oil displacement efficacy augmented by regulating capillary force(determined by the joint action of interfacial tension and wettability between different phases)and macroscopic sweep volume increment through profile control and mobility ratio *** comprehensive effectiveness can be further impacted when the CaAlg microsphere is embellished ulteriorly by using appropriate amount of sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDS).The core flooding and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)tests demonstrate that CaAlg-SDS microsphere can balance the interphase property regulation(wettability alteration and IFT reduction)and rheology properties,enabling simultaneous profile control and oil *** introduction of SDS will have a negative impact on rheological properties,which is not favored for *** results show that the involvement of 4-m M SDS will provide the best behavior,with an EOR rate of 34.38%.This cost-effective and environmentally-friendly bio-microspherebased microfluidic displacement technology is expected to achieve“green”oil recovery in future oilfield exploitation.

An investigation into the deformation, movement and coalescence characteristics of water-in-oil droplets in an AC electric field

Drop-drop coalescence is important in electric dehydrators used for oil-water separation in the oil *** deformation degree,angle between the electric field and the center line of two drops,effects of intensities and frequencies of the electric field have been studied by analyzing droplet ***,seldom have people investigated the movement and the relative velocity in the process of dropdrop *** this paper forces acting on a single droplet and horizontal water droplets in an AC electric field were analyzed,and experiments were carried out to investigate the deformation,movement and coalescence characteristics of droplets with white oil and *** a micro high-speed camera system and image processing technology,the droplet images were collected and *** results indicate that the deformation is mainly affected by the electric field intensity,frequency,droplet diameter and the oil *** field strength and large diameter facilitate deformation of drops in the electric *** effect of frequency and oil viscosity is not *** frequency and higher oil viscosity will lead to smaller oscillation *** effect of electric field intensity and droplet diameter on oscillation amplitude is not *** the center-to-center distance between droplets is large,the forces acting on droplets in the horizontal direction are mainly dipole-dipole attraction and drag *** is also the film-thinning force when droplets get *** forces are simplified and *** on force analysis and Newton＇s second law,the relative movement is analyzed in different parts,and the relationship of center-to-center distance and time is in accordance with an explinear function at different *** to experimental data,the movement of 145 μm double droplets before coalescence can be fitted well with an explinear function at two *** addition,the whole movement process is investigated and can be estimated with
