Analysis of the Ambient Air Quality of Tarlac City： Baseline Data for Environmental Management Plan

This study aimed to monitor the level of air pollutants in the ambient air of Tarlac City. Samples were collected from different parts of the city to evaluate what area of the city (categorized as to: Station 1-highly active interchange, Station 2-bus interchange, Station 3-city center hub, and station 4- school community) has the highest level of pollution. The results were compared and interpreted based on the standard procedures specified under Republic Act 8749 otherwise known as the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999. Total suspended particulates at stations 1 (over by 547.77 μg/Ncm), 2 (over by 41.01 μg/Ncm), and 3 (over by 150.51 μg/Ncm) exceeded the maximum allowable limit as described in the DENR standard. This may pose an unhealthy environment particularly to people with respiratory ailments such as asthma and allergies. Among the four stations, Station 1exhibited the highest levels in terms of TSP, NO2 and CO.

The dynamic coupling between the fluttering motions and hydrodynamic characteristics of codend is essential in understanding the trawl selectivity through fish response and the drag force acting on the whole trawl.This study investigated the effect of towing speed,warp length,warp tension,and catch size on the fluttering motions of Antarctic krill trawl codend during net shooting,towing,and hauling by using sea trial data.The time-periodicity of codend oscillation was analyzed by the Morlet wavelet transform method.Results indicated that the period of codend oscillation was between 50 s and 90 s and showed an increasing trend with the warp tension but a decreased value at the towing stage.The coefficient amplitude of codend oscillation was between 0 and 4 at the net shooting and hauling stages,and between 0.2 and 0.6 at the towing stage.The amplitude of codend oscillation increased with the warp tension,towing speed,and catch size,but decreased with the increase of the warp length.In addition,the period of codend oscillation increased with the towing speed at the net shooting and hauling stages,but decreased at the towing stage.These results from codend fluttering motions can improve the understanding of fish behavior and gear shape that modify the hydrodynamic force on the codend instantaneously.

In order to satisfy his yearning for his long lost homeland and his family, the narrator presents a romantic image of the Ondaatje family.

Global environmental cooperation serves as an important part in the Chinese ideal of building a Community with a Shared Future for all Human Beings. The report of 19 th CPC National Congress indicates that China is committed to proactive mitigation under the Paris Agreement and further participating in global environmental governance under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and both of which are largely integrated to the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). BRI are also closely linked with South-South environmental and climate cooperation proposed by China from previous UN summits. Based on shared ideas, intersected agendas, and compatible governance approaches, BRI and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development grow increasingly relevant and they might form synergies based on increasingly interactive relations. In sum,seeking and intensifying the linkages between BRI and 2030 sustainable development goals(SDGs) could address global environmental governance deficits and enhance cooperation among nations.
