Objective and Impact ***-time monitoring of the temperatures of regional tissue microenvironments can serve as the diagnostic basis for treating various health conditions and *** thermal sensors allow measurements at surfaces or at near-surface regions of the skin or of certain body *** at depth require implanted devices connected to external readout electronics via physical interfaces that lead to risks for infection and movement constraints for the ***,surgical extraction procedures after a period of need can introduce additional risks and ***,we report a wireless,bioresorbable class of temperature sensor that exploits multilayer photonic cavities,for continuous optical measurements of regional,deep-tissue microenvironments over a timeframe of interest followed by complete clearance via natural body *** designs decouple the influence of detection angle from temperature on the reflection spectra,to enable high accuracy in sensing,as supported by in vitro experiments and optical *** with devices implanted into subcutaneous tissues of both awake,freely moving and asleep animal models illustrate the applicability of this technology for in vivo *** results demonstrate the use of bioresorbable materials in advanced photonic structures with unique capabilities in tracking of thermal signatures of tissue microenvironments,with potential relevance to human healthcare.

To study the rpoB and katG gene mutation rate and its ***-sectional study methods were used to study Tuberculosis. A total of 45 sputum samples were collected from Annapurna neurological institute and Allied sciences. Then, acid fast bacilli staining were performed. Positive and negative samples were carried for conventional polymerase chain reaction identification and *** of 45 samples, 3 were acid fast bacilli positive and the rest were negative. Male participants were more as compare to female participants and the mutation in rpoB and katG gene was found similar i.e. 6.66% among the total *** can conclude that genetic mutation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis can be identified directly from the clinical samples. However, we have carried this study in less sample size and to validate research on large number of sample is recommended.

Background： The relationship between monosymptomatic resting tremor （mRT） and Parkinson＇s disease （PD） Iemains controversial. In this study, we aimed to assess tile function ofpresynaptic dopaminergic neurons in patients with mRT by dopamine transporter positron emission tomography （DAT-PET） and to evaluate the utility of clinical features or electrophysioIogical studies in differential diagnosis. Methods： Thirty-three consecutive patients with toRT were enrolled prospectively. The Unified Parkinson＇s Disease Rating Scale and electromyography were tested before DAT-PET. Striatal asymmetry index （SAI） was calculated, and a normal DATPET was defined as a SAI of 〈15%. Scans without evidence of dopaminergic deficits （SWEDDs） were diagnosed in patients with a subsequent normal DAT-PET and structural magnetic resonance imaging. Results： Twenty-eight toRT patients with a significant reduction in uptake of DAT binding in the striatum were diagnosed with PD, while the remained 5 with a normal DAT-PET scan were SWEDDs. As for UPRDS, the dressing and hygiene score, walking m motor experiences of daily living （Part I1） and motor examination （Part Ill ） were significant different between two groups （P 〈 0.05 and P 〈 0.01, respectively）. Bilateral tremor was more frequent in the SWEDDs group （P 〈 0.05）. The frequency of resting tremor and the amplitude ofpostural tremor tend to be higher in the SWEDDs group （P = 0.08 and P= 0.05, respectively）. Conclusions： mRT is heterogeneous in presynaptic nigrostriatal dopaminergic degeneration, which can be determined by DAT-PET brain imaging. Clinical and electrophysiological features may provide clues to distinguish PD from SWEDDs.

Background and purpose As studies vary in defining the prognostic significance of smoking in acute ischaemic stroke(AIS),we aimed to determine the relation of smoking and key outcomes in patient participants who had thrombolysed AIS of the international quasi-factorial randomised Enhanced Control of Hypertension and Thrombolysis Stroke Study(ENCHANTED).Methods Post-hoc analyses of ENCHANTED,an international quasi-factorial randomised evaluation of intravenous alteplase-dose comparison and levels of blood pressure control in patients who had thrombolysed *** logistic regression models with inverse probability of treatment weighting(IPTW)propensity scores were used to determine associations of self-reported smoking status and clinical outcomes,according to 90-day modified Rankin Scale(mRS)scores and symptomatic intracerebral haemorrhage(sICH).Results Of 4540 patients who had an AIS,there were 1008(22.2%)current smokers who were younger and predominantly male,with more comorbidities of hypertension,coronary artery disease,atrial fibrillation and diabetes mellitus,and greater baseline neurological impairment,compared with *** univariate analysis,current smokers had a higher likelihood of a favourable shift in mRS scores(OR 0.88,95%CI 0.77 to 0.99;p=0.038)but this association reversed in a fully adjusted model with IPTW(adjusted OR 1.15,95%CI 1.04 to 1.28;p=0.009).A similar trend was also apparent for dichotomised poor outcome(mRS scores 2–6:OR 1.18,95%CI 1.05 to 1.33;p=0.007),but not with the risk of sICH across standard *** Smoking predicts poor functional recovery in patients who had thrombolysed *** registration number NCT01422616.

Traumatic brain injuries are serious clinical incidents associated with some of the poorest outcomes in neurological *** with the limited regenerative capacity of the brain,this has significant implications for patients,carers,and healthcare systems,and the requirement for life-long care in some *** treatment currently focuses on limiting the initial neural damage with longterm care/support from multidisciplinary *** targeting neuroprotection and neural regeneration are not currently available but are the focus of intensive ***-based interventions are gaining popularity for a range of applications including biomolecule and drug delive ry,and to function as cellular *** investigations into the development of such novel therapeutics for traumatic brain injury will be critically underpinned by the availability of appropriate high thro ughput,facile,ethically viable,and pathomimetic biological model *** represents a significant challenge for researchers given the pathological complexity of traumatic brain ***,there is a concerted post-injury response mounted by multiple neural cell types which includes microglial activation and astroglial scarring with the expression of a range of growth inhibito ry molecules and cytokines in the lesion ***,we review common models used for the study of traumatic brain injury(ranging from live animal models to in vitro systems),focusing on penetrating traumatic brain injury *** discuss their relative advantages and drawbacks for the developmental testing of biomaterial-based therapies.

Background We collected neonatal neurological,clinical,and imaging data to study the neurological manifestations and imaging characteristics of neonates with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods This case-control study included newborns diagnosed with COVID-19 in Wuhan,China from January 2020 to July *** included newborns had complete neurological evaluations and head magnetic resonance *** normalized the extracted T2-weighted imaging data to a standard neonate template space,and segmented them into gray matter,white matter,and cerebrospinal *** comparison of gray matter volume was conducted between the two *** A total of five neonates with COVID-19 were included in this *** median reflex scores were 2 points lower in the infected group than in the control group(P=0.0094),and the median orientation and behavior scores were 2.5 points lower in the infected group than in the control group(P=0.0008).There were also significant differences between the two groups in the total scale score(P=0.0426).The caudate nucleus,parahippocampal gyrus,and thalamus had the strongest correlations with the Hammersmith neonatal neurologic examination(HNNE)score,and the absolute correlation coefficients between the gray matter volumes and each part of the HNNE score were all almost greater than *** We first compared the neurological performance of neonates with and without COVID-19 by quantitative neuroimaging and neurological examination *** the limited numbers of patients,more studies focusing on the structural or functional aspects of the virus in the central nervous system in different age groups will be carried out in the future.

Background and purpose:Providing participants with evidence-based care for secondary prevention is an ethical and scientific priority for trials in stroke *** optimal strategy,however,is *** report the performance of a new approach for delivering preventive care to trial ***:Participants were enrolled in the Insulin Resistance Intervention after Stroke trial,which examined the insulin sensitiser,pioglitazone versus placebo for prevention of stroke and myocardial infarction after ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic *** care was the responsibility of the participants’personal healthcare providers,but investigators monitored care and provided feedback *** studied achievement of 8 prevention goals at baseline and 3 annual visits,with a focus on 3 priority goals:blood pressure<140/90 mm Hg,lowdensity lipoprotein(LDL)cholesterol<2.59 mmol/L and antithrombotic ***:The proportion of participants achieving the priority goals was highest for antithrombotic use(96–99%in each year)and similar for blood pressure(66–72%in each year)and LDL(68–70%in each year).All 3 priority goals were achieved by 47–52%of participants in any given ***,only 22%of participants achieved all 3 goals in each ***:A strategy of monitoring care and providing feedback was associated with high average yearly achievement of 3 priority secondary prevention goals,but the majority of trial participants did not persist in being at goal over *** registration number:NCT00091949.
