The Education for health at PET Work Program (PET-health) is focused on education as a pre-supposition. Actions are directed towards to the integration of service-learning and community. Interdisciplinary principle is directed from fusion of work of graduate students, academics and professionals of health services for the benefit of strengthening primary care and health surveillance. This work aimed to carry out educational activities with Community health Agents (ACS) of the health facilities of PET-health, with the theme of Chagas disease. This descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out from January to May 2013, and the sample consisted of 25 active ACS in six Basic health Units in the city of petrolina, Brazil. In spite of actuation of ACS in primary care for over 10 years, a limited knowledge has been developed about this pathology. The health education workshops developed by the PET group clarified the ACS on Chagas disease allowing them to have an expansion of knowledge about the vector, habitat Barber, transmission, clinical manifestations… After the workshop, it was found that the ACS expanded their knowledge about the disease cycle, expanding the possibilities for action in the prevention of this pathology in their respective coverage areas. This work shows an important form of integration between education, service and community that can govern the new direction of health education.

The hepatitis C virus(HCV)is estimated to affect 71 million people *** 2016,the World health Organization adopted the first global health sector strategy to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat by *** December 2018,the European Association for the Study of the Liver,International Liver Foundation convened an expert panel to address the elimination of HCV in *** steps have already been taken to eliminate HCV in Kuwait,including free HCV treatment for Kuwait’s citizens,high blood safety standards,and the implementation of screening and awareness *** expert panel made several recommendations aimed at accelerating the elimination of HCV in Kuwait:The development of a national strategy and action plan to guide all HCV elimination activities;the formation of a coordination mechanism to support collaboration between hepatitis working committees;the prioritization of microelimination at primary,secondary or tertiary facilities,in prisons and rehabilitation centers;and ensuring the involvement of multiple stakeholders–including relevant civil society groups–in all *** screening and linkage to care should be prioritized in Kuwait,with the expansion of the prescriber base to primary healthcare providers and nurse practitioners to be *** awareness and educating people about HCV infection also remain essential to achieve the goal of HCV ***,a national HCV registry should be developed to help monitor the implementation of viral hepatitis plans and progress towards achieving national and international targets.

Essentials of Teamcare in Randomized Controlled Trials of Multidisciplinary or Interdisciplinary Interventions in Somatic Care:A Systematic Review

Background: Teamcare should, like all patient care, also contribute to evidence-based practice (EBP). Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) focusing on teamcare have been performed but no study has addressed its essentials. How far this EBP has progressed in different health aspects is generally established in systematic reviews of RCTs. Aim: The aim is to determine the essentials of teamcare including the nurse profession in RCTs of multi- or interdisciplinary interventions in somatic care focusing on the stated context, goals, strategies, content as well as effectiveness of quality of care. Methods: A systematic review was performed according to Cochrane review assumptions to identify, appraise and synthesize all empirical evidence meeting pre-specified eligibility criteria. The PRISMA statement guided the data selection process of 27 articles from PubMed and CINAHL. Results: Eighty-five percent of RCTs in somatic care showed a positive effectiveness of teamcare interventions, of which interdisciplinary ones showed a greater effectiveness compared with the multidisciplinary approach (100% vs 76%). Also theory-based RCTs presented higher positive effectiveness (85%) compared with non-theory-based RCTs (79%). The RCTs with positive effectiveness showed greater levels for professional-centered ambition in terms of goals and for team-directed initiatives in terms of strategy, and a significantly higher level for patient-team interaction plans in terms of content was shown. Conclusions: Teamcare RCTs are still grounded in the multidisciplinary approach having a professional-centered ambition while interdisciplinary approaches especially those that are theory-based appear to be essential with regard to positive effectiveness and preferable when person-centered careis applied.

Sero Status Disclosure to Sexual Partner and Associated Factors among Adult HIV Positive Patients in Bale Zone Hospitals, Oromia Region, Ethiopia: Institution Based Cross-Sectional Study

Background: Disclosure of HIV sero status is among varies HIV prevention strategy to prevent the spread of HIV. It is the base for accessing care and treatment programs, attains psycho-social support and reduces stigma, adheres to treatment and promotes safer health behavior particularly for couples. Objective: To assess HIV sero status disclosure to sexual partner and associated factors among HIV positive adult patient in Bale Zone hospitals. Method: A cross-sectional study design was conducted among 411 adult HIV positive clients who were selected by using systematic random sampling methods from Bale Zone Hospitals. Data were collected by using pre-tested questionnaire after verbal consent obtained from participants by trained nurse. Multiple logistic regression analysis was done by using SPSS version 20 and P-value of less than 0.05 was taken to declare statistical significance. Result: HIV sero status disclosure to sexual partners was 52.6%. Residence (AOR = 1.62;95% CI, 1.0, 2.60), receiving pre-test counselling related disclosure (AOR = 6.25;95% CI, 3.45, 11.33) and knowledge of partner’s HIV sero status (P-Value = 0.001) were significantly associated with HIV sero status disclosure. Fear of stigma and violence by sexual partner were the main reasons suggested for not disclosing HIV sero-status. Conclusion: The level of HIV sero-status disclosure to sexual partner was low. Disclosure of HIV sero status to sexual partner was significantly associated with clients’ place of residence, receiving pre-test counselling about disclosure and Knowledge of partners HIV sero status.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to gain insight into nurse managers’ stress experiences and coping strategies in order to better support them. Design: A qualitative exploratory descriptive research design was used in this study. Subject: Fifteen nurse managers participated in this study. Results: Three descriptive themes related to nurse managers’ occupational stress were identified: role overload, loneliness, and role conflict. We also identified three descriptive themes that contributed to their stress management: sufficient support and advice, taking mental breaks while off duty, and individual coping strategies. Conclusions: Our study proposes two recommendations to reduce nurse managers’ stress. First, for nurse managers who experience work overload, hospitals should support them in learning how to work efficiently and how to manage their response to work demands. Second, nurse managers’ primary stressors were loneliness and role conflict. nurse managers are known to juggle multiple demands from the hospital nursing director and staff nurses. Although it is difficult to eliminate the role conflict, nurse managers should be guided on how to manage conflicting demands, the hospital nursing director and staff nurses.

目的胜任力激励新聘任护士提供高质量的护理,为患者提供满意的服务。护理岗前培训项目可以对新入职护士产生积极影响。为重新规划该项目,本研究对多元文化背景下新护士入职培训项目进行评估。方法本研究是在一所多元文化三级医疗机构进行的。应用行动研究策略进行质性内容分析和量性资料评估。70名护士参与了入职培训项目评估。使用护士胜任力量表(nurse Competence Scale)评估护士能力。通过焦点小组讨论,了解护士对该项目的看法。结果研究显示护士的整体能力较高,并且在培训后总体能力得分提高(得分率提高了5.48%)。不同维度中,新护士在确保质量方面能力提升最为明显,教学能力不足且提升不明显。该培训项目总体是有效的,除教学和管理能力外,其他维度在培训后得分均较前提高(P<0.05)。该项目中也存在一些挑战。结论新护士具备胜任力,入职培训对护士能力培养有重要影响。未来的入职培训项目有必要对某些内容和策略进行调整。该研究根据调查结果制订了策略,有助于医院考虑评估入职培训项目的特定方面并重新设计,从而使新护士的体验更为丰富。

The Effectiveness of a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Computer Game as a Learning Tool for Nursing Students

Simulation games that are close to actual clinical situations can assist students in the learning process and, through the active presentation of subject material, help them acquire necessary knowledge. The aims of this study were to develop a computer game focused on caring for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the outpatient clinic and to evaluate the nursing students’ change in knowledge and their satisfaction score after they played this computer game. This study had a randomized pre-/post-control experimental design. How to assess and care for patients with dyspnea episodes, the use of inhalants, the effects of weather changes, and breathing exercises for patients with COPD were the key content elements of the computer game developed by the study team. The COPD care knowledge test and satisfaction questionnaire were the evaluation instruments. Sixty-eight junior nursing students participated in this study. Of these 68 participants, 35 were randomly assigned to the control group and 33 were randomly assigned to the experimental group. Each group finished the pretest, then played the game for 20 minutes, and then did the post-test questionnaire. The results of this study determined that the COPD care knowledge score was significantly improved after playing the game in the experimental group (t = 2.24, P strategy for nursing students, but also for further developing a game for patient education.
