The addition effects of organic small molecular substances N,N'-dicyclohexyl-benzothiazyl-2-sulfenamide (DZ) and 3,9-bis{1,1-dimethyl-2[beta-(3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)propionyloxy]ethyl}-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5,5]-undecane (AO-80) on the dynamic mechanical properties of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), chlorinated polypropylene (CPP), acrylate rubber (ACM) and their blends were investigated. In the case of compatible systems such as CPE/DZ and ACM/AO-80, the height of the loss tangent (tandelta) peak of a matrix polymer (CPE or ACM) increases, and its peak position shifts to a higher temperature with the addition of DZ or AO-80. By contrast, for incompatible CPE/AO-80, a novel transition appeared above the glass transition temperature of CPE. This additional transition was assigned to dissociation of the intermolecular hydrogen bond between the alpha-hydrogen of CPE and the hydroxyl groups of AO-80 within the AO-80-rich domain. This will provide a new concept for developing damping material. However, the minimum value between two tandelta peaks is lower. It was found that the temperature dependence of tandelta could be improved by adding chlorinated paraffin (CP) or ACM to CPE/AO-80. In addition, another ternary system of ACM/CPP with more AO-80 was found to be a very good self-adhesive damping material because of the appearance of a novel transition due to an interfacial layer of ACM/CPP.

Since the 1980 s, Nd–Fe–B with largest energy product(BH)max approaching the theoretical limit has become the landmark of permanent magnetic *** application spectrum for Nd–Fe–B continues to expand over time both in the industrial and commercial sectors, which leads to growing research interests for solving the long-standing drawbacks of Nd–Fe–B, i.e., poor corrosion resistance, low coercivity, high Dy/Tb and low La/Ce/Y *** the above obstacles, we aim to present the novel grain boundary restructuring(GBR) approach, from GB design, processing, to structure evolution and property evaluation with a focus on the corrosion and coercivity mechanism of the restructured 2:14:1-typed *** with an introduction to the fundamental of GBR, two representative examples,high-electrode-potential(Pr, Nd)32.5Fe62.0Cu5.5 and low-melting-point Dy71.5Fe28.5, are given with detailed descriptions of the advantages of GBR to enhance the intrinsic anti-corrosion stability and to strengthen the coercivity at low Dy ***–property correlations are established to understand the critical importance of regulating the restructured GB phase to maximize the all-round performance of the 2:14:1-typed permanent *** at sustainable and balanced development of rare earth(RE) industry, the proceeding section proposes new prototypes of La–Ce and Y–Ce co-substitutions with dual benefits of stabilizing the 2:14:1 tetragonal phase and strengthening the intrinsic hard *** findings of additional REFe2 intergranular phase delight that the GBR approach also opens up a new horizon of research and application to develop high-performance La/Ce/Y-rich permanent magnets with deliberately tailored GB phase.

A novel soluble poly(aryl ether ketone) was prepared by the reaction of 4-(3-phenyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)phthalazinone with 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone. The polymer was characterized by DSC, TGA and X-ray diffraction.

A novel alkoxysilyl-functionalized poly(phthalazinone ether ketone) (PPEK) was prepared for the boundary lubricant application in micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS). The synthesis of functionalized PPEK was started from the hydroxylation of PPEK, then following with the corresponding ring-opening reaction of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS). The structures of the functional PPEK were confirmed by FTIR, 1H NMR, 29Si NMR, and UV–vis spectrum.

A series of novel aromatic poly ( amide imide)s containing phthalazinone moieties were prepared from 2-(4-aminophenyl)-4-[3-methyl-4-(4-aminophenoxy)-2,3-phthalazinone-1], a novel diamine 1 with four diimide-dicarboxylic acids by Yamazaki phosphorylation method with the inherent viscosity of 0.36~0.65 dL/g. These polymers had high glass transition temperatures above 300C and they lost 10% weight between 426~475C in N2. The structure of diamine 1 and the polymers was confirmed by IR, 1H NMR and MS. The obtained polymers were readily soluble in polar solvents such as NMP, m-cresol etc. and easily cast into tough, flexible films. The X-ray indicated that they are all amorphous.

A novel thermo-sensitive switching membrane has been prepared by radiation-induced simultaneous grafting N-isopropylacrylamide （NIPAAm） onto chitosan membrane. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） was used to identify the structure of the grafted membranes. The surface morphology of the grafted membrane was observed from scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. Pure water flux measurements showed that water flux of the grafted membrane decreased with the increase of temperature, while that of chitosan membrane was constant. It was proved that grafted membrane was sensitive to temperature.

Synthesis of a novel Core-shell Type Acrylic-polyurethane Hybrid Emulsion Containing Siloxane and Fluorine as well as Water and the Oil Resistances of Cured Film

Siliconated polyurethane （Si-PU） was synthesized using isophorone diisocyanate （IPDI）, hydroxybutyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane （PDMS）, polytetramethylene ether glycol （PTMG）, polypropylene glycol （PPG）, 1,6-hexanediol （HDO）, dimethylol propionic acid （DMPA） and triethylamine （TEA）. Based on butyl acrylate （BA）, 2, 2, 2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate （TFEMA） and Si-PU as a seed emulsion, a novel core-shell type acrylic-polyurethane hybrid emulsion, containing siloxane and fluorine （F-Si-PU）, was prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization. The contents of siloxane and fluorine were determined according to the feed ratio. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） was used to identify the chain structures of Si-PU and F-Si-PU. Investigation of transmission electron microscopy （TEM） confirmed the core-shell structure of F-Si-PU emulsion. Measurement results of water contact angle and the swelling ratio in water and n-octane for cured film showed that the water and the oil resistances for F-Si-PU had been significantly improved at a suitable content of fluorine and siloxane.
