Selenium nanoparticles in aquaculture:Unique advantages in the production of Se-enriched grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)

The production of selenium-enriched fish can contribute to alleviating selenium deficiency in human ***,it is still unclear which selenium source,as an additive,can efficiently and costeffectively produce high-quality selenium-enriched *** study evaluated the effects of selenium nanoparticles(SeNP),selenite,and selenomethionine(SeMet)on the growth,antioxidant capacity,selenium content,selenium speciation,and meat quality of grass *** diets were prepared,including a basal diet(BD)and three concentrations(0.1,0.3,and 0.9 mg/kg)of SeNP,selenite,and SeMet.A total of600 fish(250.79±1.57 g)were randomly assigned to 30 tanks(3 tanks/group).fish were fed the experimental diet three times daily for 60 *** this study,SeNP most significantly promoted the growth and antioxidant capacity of grass carp,with 0.3 mg/kg SeNP identified as the optimal additive ***,SeNP demonstrated equally excellent bioavailability as SeMet and significantly increased the content of SeMet in grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)***,compared to SeMet and selenite,dietary SeNP could more significantly enhance the content of selenocysteine(SeCys2)and methylselenocysteine(MeSeCys)in grass carp muscle *** addition,we have demonstrated that SeCys2and MeSeCys promote apoptosis of cancer cells(HeLa)through the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway(involving Bax and Bcl-2).furthermore,as an additive,0.3 mg/kg SeNP significantly improved the flesh quality of grass carp by reducing crude fat and heavy metal content,as well as increasing the levels of eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)and the ratio of n-3/n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUfA).In summary,SeNP is the most suitable additive for producing selenium-enriched fish.

Landscape ecological risk assessment and its driving factors in the Weihe River basin,China

Weihe River basin is of great significance to analyze the changes of land use pattern and landscape ecological risk and to improve the ecological basis of regional *** on land use data of the Weihe River basin in 2000,2010,and 2020,with the support of Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System(ArcGIS),GeoDa,and other technologies,this study analyzed the spatial-temporal characteristics and driving factors of land use pattern and landscape ecological *** showed that land use structure of the Weihe River basin has changed significantly,with the decrease of cropland and the increase of forest land and construction *** the past 20 a,cropland has decreased by 7347.70 km2,and cropland was mainly converted into forest land,grassland,and construction *** fragmentation and dispersion of ecological landscape pattern in the Weihe River basin were improved,and land use pattern became more ***,landscape ecological risk of the Weihe River basin has been *** landscape ecological risk area decreased by 19,177.87 km2,high landscape ecological risk area decreased by 3904.35 km2,and moderate and low landscape ecological risk areas continued to *** is worth noting that landscape ecological risks in the upper reaches of the Weihe River basin are still relatively serious,especially in the contiguous areas of high ecological risk,such as Tianshui,Pingliang,Dingxi areas and some areas of Ningxia Hui Autonomous *** ecological risk showed obvious spatial dependence,and high ecological risk area was *** the driving factors,population density,precipitation,normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),and their interactions are the most important factors affecting the landscape ecological risk of the Weihe River *** findings significantly contribute to our understanding of the ecological dynamics in the Weihe River basin,providing crucial insights for sustainable mana

The impact of cyclodextrins(CDs)on wine quality and stability remains largely *** study systematically assessed the protective effect of the post-fermentation addition of CDs on color stability of red wine from the viewpoints of color characteristics,copigmentation and phenolic *** grey relational analysis(GRA)and principal component analysis(PCA)methods were employed to dissect the key effective determinants related to color *** addition of CDs induced a significant hyperchromic effect of 8.19-25.40%,a significant bathochromic effect and an enhancement of the color ***,the evolution of anthocyanin forms and the content of monomeric anthocyanins revealed that β-CD is a superior favorable cofactor during wine aging,but for long-term aging,2-HP-β-CD and 2-HP-γ-CD are more beneficial in promoting the formation of polymerized anthocyanins and color *** work provides an important reference for the use of CDs to enhance the color quality and stability of red wines.

Tree plantation and forest restoration are the major strategies for enhancing terrestrial carbon sequestration and mitigating climate *** Grain for Green Project in China has positively impacted global carbon sequestration and the trend towards fragmentation of plantation *** studies have been conducted on changes in plantation biomass and stand structure caused by fragmentation,and the effect of fragmentation on the carbon storage of plantation forests remains *** study evaluated the differences between carbon storage and stand structure in black locust forests in fragmented and continuous landscape in the Ansai District,China and discussed the effects of ecological significance of four landscape indices on carbon storage and tree *** used structural equation modelling to explore the direct and indirect effects of fragmentation,edge,abiotic factors,and stand structure on above-ground carbon *** at breast height(DBH)in fragmented forests was 53.3%thicker,tree density was 40.9%lower,and carbon storage was 49.8%higher than those in continuous forests;for all given DBH>10 cm,the trees in fragmented forests were shorter than those in continuous *** patch area had a negative impact on carbon storage,i.e.,the higher the degree of fragmentation,the lower the density of the tree;and fragmentation and distance to edge(DTE)directly increased canopy ***,canopy coverage directly decreased carbon storage,and fragmentation directly increased carbon storage and tree *** non-commercial forests,fragmentation reduces the carbon storage potential of plantation,and the influence of patch area,edge,and patchy connection on plantation should be considered when follow-up trees are planted and for the plantation ***,expanding the area of plantation patches,repairing the edges of complex-shaped patches,enhancing the connectivity of similar patches,and applying nutrients to plantation forests at regular i

Chemodynamic therapy(CDT)combined with dual phototherapy(photothermal therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT))is an efficient way to synergistically improve anti-tumor ***,the combination of multiple modes often makes the composition of the system more complex,which is not conducive to clinical *** this study,a dual phototherapy ligand carboxyl-modified Aza-BODIPY(BOD-COOH)and metal active center Cu^(2+)were used to construct multiple-modes metalphotosensitizer nanoparticles(BOD-Cu NPs)via one-step coordination self-assembly for combination therapy of CDT/PDT/*** order to improve delivery efficiency,the targeted hydrophilic molecule pyridinemodified glucose derivative(G-Py)was synthesized and coated onto the BOD-Cu NPs to form a glycosylated nano metal-photosensitizer BOD-Cu@G by electrostatic *** Cu^(2+)in BOD-Cu@G could not only be used as a coordination node for metal-driven self-assembly but also consume intracellular glutathione(GSH),and then catalyze fenton-like reaction to generate hydroxyl radical(·OH)for *** vitro and in vivo studies revealed that BOD-Cu@G could achieve excellent anti-tumor efficiency by CDTenhanced dual phototherapy.
