Trigonelline exerts its neuroprotective effects in experimental spinal cord injury through modulation of inflammation, apoptosis, and neurotrophic factors

Objective:To assess the protective effects of trigonelline against spinal cord injury(SCI)in ***:Rats(Sprague-Dawley,male)were randomly assigned to seven groups(n=15 per group):normal,sham,SCI control(1%DMSO),methylprednisolone(30 mg/kg),and trigonelline(50,100,and 200 mg/kg).Rats received respective treatment daily for 28 *** was induced by using a temporary aneurysm ***,biochemical,and histological analyses were performed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of ***:Trigonelline(100 and 200 mg/kg)treatment effectively(P<0.05)mitigated SCI-induced changes in mechano-tactile sensation,allodynia,hyperalgesia,and motor nerve conduction *** notably(P<0.05)downregulated apoptotic(Bax and caspase-3)and inflammatory(COX-Ⅱ)markers,while upregulating Bcl-2 and BDNF mRNA expression in the spinal cord(P<0.05).Furthermore,trigonelline effectively alleviated(P<0.05)SCI-induced alterations in mitochondrial complex levels,resulting in enhanced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide dehydrogenase,succinate dehydrogenase,redox activity,and cytochrome-C *** examination of spinal cord tissue indicated that trigonelline significantly(P<0.05)ameliorated the histological damage caused by SCI,thereby improving neuronal degeneration,inflammatory cell infiltration,and ***:Trigonelline shows neuroprotective properties in SCI rats by reducing allodynia,hyperalgesia,and inflammation,stabilizing mitochondrial enzyme complexes,and modulating apoptotic and neurotrophic ***,trigonelline holds promise as a potential neuroprotective agent.

The Quest for Understanding Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in northern Province,Sri Lanka:An Analysis of Clinical Data From the District general hospital,Vavuniya

The study aimed to examine the clinical and epidemiological patterns of cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL)in patients attending the Dermatology Unit,District general hospital in Vavuniya,Sri Lanka.A total of 77 patients clinically suspected for CL were interviewed through a structured questionnaire,and skin-lesion samples were obtained between January 2016 and January *** definitive diagnosis of CL was made through microscopic identification of smears,histopathological examination of biopsies and kDNA *** modalities were chosen based on the location of the lesions on the body and complexity of the *** 77 suspected patients,68 were confirmed for CL,with a mean age of 34.6(±12.7)years,and included 54 males(79.4%)and 14 females(20.6%).Being a male was a significant risk factor(P=0.032,OR=4.82)associated with *** were observed mainly on the exposed areas of the body,of which the forearm(22.1%)was the most commonly affected *** lesions(75.0%)and ulcerated nodules with central crust(39.7%)were the prominent features among the infected *** age group of 21–40 years was significantly associated with healing lesions(P=0.028,marginal effect=0.55).However,a significant negative relationship was detected between ulcerated nodular lesions and lesion healing(P=0.0436,marginal effect=−0.375).Males are at higher risk of *** diagnosis and specific treatment,along with preventive measures such as protective clothing and sand fly repellents,can limit the spread of the *** is a need for a comprehensive approach to prevent and control the transmission of CL.

Assessment of Effects of Stress among Healthcare Providers at the Tabarka and Jendouba general hospital’s Emergency Service Units in northern Tunisia

The study assessed the relationship between exposure to stress and posttraumatic symptoms among nurses and physicians in a Jendouba general hospital. hospital staff who were exposed to stress were assessed for posttraumatic stress disorder. High levels of stress symptoms were found in physicians and nurses. Logistic regression analysis showed that nurses had an increased risk for posttraumatic stress disorder factors characterized by negative behavior to patient, increased workload excessive ambiguity and role conflict and the lack of free. These findings showed that nurses suffered from more severe posttraumatic symptoms compared to physicians after exposure to prolonged stress. The gap between physicians and nurses warrants further study.

Protective effects of autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation on acute radioactive enteritis in Beagle dogs

Characteristics of intracranial plaque in patients with non-cardioembolic stroke and intracranial large vessel occlusion

Objective To determine the characteristics of intracranial plaque proximal to large vessel occlusion(LVO)in stroke patients without major-risk cardioembolic source using 3.0 T high-resolution MRI(HR-MRI).Methods We retrospectively enrolled eligible patients from January 2015 to July *** multidimensional parameters of plaque such as remodelling index(RI),plaque burden(PB),percentage lipid-rich necrotic core(%LRNC),presence of discontinuity of plaque surface(DPS),fibrous cap rupture,intraplaque haemorrhage and complicated plaque were evaluated by *** Among 279 stroke patients,intracranial plaque proximal to LVO was more prevalent in the ipsilateral versus contralateral side to stroke(75.6%vs 58.8%,p<0.001).The larger PB(p<0.001),RI(p<0.001)and%LRNC(p=0.001),the higher prevalence of DPS(61.1%vs 50.6%,p=0.041)and complicated plaque(63.0%vs 50.6%,p=0.016)were observed in the plaque ipsilateral versus contralateral to *** analysis showed that RI and PB were positively associated with an ischaemic stroke(RI:crude OR:1.303,95%CI 1.072 to 1.584,p=0.008;PB:crude OR:1.677,95%CI 1.381 to 2.037,p<0.001).In subgroup with<50%stenotic plaque,the greater PB,RI,%LRNC and the presence of complicated plaque were more closely related to stroke,which was not evident in subgroup with≥50%stenotic *** This is the first study to report the characteristics of intracranial plaque proximal to LVO in non-cardioembolic *** provides potential evidence to support different aetiological roles of<50%stenotic vs≥50%stenotic intracranial plaque in this population.

Delayed cardiac tamponade after simultaneous transcatheter atrial septal defect closure and left atrial appendage closure device implantation: a particular case report

Percutaneous left atrial appendage(LAA)occlusion evolved as an alternative treatment to the patients who are contraindicated or cannot tolerate oral anticoagulants with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation(AF)at risk of stroke or systemic embolism.[1]Abnormal hemodynamic changes in elder atrial septal defect(ASD)patients cause remodeling of the left atrium,which eventually leads to right heart failure.[2]As the ASDs elderly are associated with a higher incidence of AF,simultaneous transcatheter ASD and LAA closure has become a new effective therapeutic ***,only a limited number of articles involving cardiac tamponade complications have been published in the ***’s more,previous studies involving early hemodynamically irrelevant pericardial effusion after the procedure attribute to multiple repositioning attempts of LAA occluder or delivery sheath injured the atrial wall.
