SeisResoDiff: Seismic resolution enhancement based on a diffusion model

High resolution of post-stack seismic data assists in better interpretation of subsurface structures as well as high accuracy of impedance inversion. Therefore, geophysicists consistently strive to acquire higher resolution seismic images in petroleum exploration. Although there have been successful applications of conventional signal processing and machine learning for post-stack seismic resolution enhancement,there is limited reference to the seismic applications of the recent emergence and rapid development of generative artificial intelligence. Hence, we propose to apply diffusion models, among the most popular generative models, to enhance seismic resolution. Specifically, we apply the classic diffusion model—denoising diffusion probabilistic model(DDPM), conditioned on the seismic data in low resolution, to reconstruct corresponding high-resolution images. Herein the entire scheme is referred to as SeisResoDiff. To provide a comprehensive and clear understanding of SeisResoDiff, we introduce the basic theories of diffusion models and detail the optimization objective's derivation with the aid of diagrams and algorithms. For implementation, we first propose a practical workflow to acquire abundant training data based on the generated pseudo-wells. Subsequently, we apply the trained model to both synthetic and field datasets, evaluating the results in three aspects: the appearance of seismic sections and slices in the time domain, frequency spectra, and comparisons with the synthetic data using real well-logging data at the well locations. The results demonstrate not only effective seismic resolution enhancement,but also additional denoising by the diffusion model. Experimental comparisons indicate that training the model on noisy data, which are more realistic, outperforms training on clean data. The proposed scheme demonstrates superiority over some conventional methods in high-resolution reconstruction and denoising ability, yielding more competitive results

Reshaping force for deformed casing repairing with hydraulic rolling reshaper and its influencing factors

Hydraulic rolling reshaper is an advanced reshaping tool to solve the problem of casing deformation,which has been widely used in recent *** it is used for well repair operation,the reshaping force provided by ground devices is generally determined by ***,too large reshaping force may destroy the deformed casing,and too small reshaping force may also prolong the construction period and affect the repairing *** this paper,based on Hertz contact theory and elastic-plastic theory,combined with the process parameters of shaping,and considering the structural characteristics of the deformed casing and reshaper,we propose a mathematical model for calculating the reshaping force required for repairing deformed casing by hydraulic rolling ***,the finite element model and numerical method of hydraulic rolling reshaper repairing deformed casing are established by using the finite element method,and the reliability of the mathematical model is verified by several *** this basis,the control variable method is used to investigate the influence of each parameter on the reshaping force,and the influence degree of each parameter is explored by orthogonal simulation test and Pearson correlation *** research results not only provide an important theoretical basis for the prediction of reshaping force in on-site construction,but also provide a reference for the subsequent improvement of the shaping process.

One-dimensional Ⅲ- Ⅴ semiconductor nanostruc- tures show fascinating applications in various fields. These materials have high electron mobil- ity, superior optical properties, and great flexibility in heterostructure design. When applied in ad- vanced nanodevices, the performance is highly de- pendent on the morphology and crystal structure of the nanostructures. Therefore, the full understand- ing and control of crystal structures and morpholo- gies are of importance to develop such applications. As a typical Ⅲ-Ⅴ semiconductor, InP is an especially attractive target for nanowires research due to its extensive uses in various fields. InP nanostructures with different morphologies, such as quantum dots, nanospheres, nanowires, and nanotubes, have been successfully synthesized. However, the facile syn- thesis of InP semiconductor with comb-like morpholo- gies have rarely been reported.

Rheo-optic in situ synchronous study on the gelation behaviour and mechanism of waxy crude oil emulsions

An improved rheo-optic in situ synchronous measurement system was employed to investigate the gelation behaviour and mechanism of waxy crude oil emulsions. By combining transmitted natural light and reflected polarized light microscopy, a multiangle composite light source was built to achieve the simultaneous observation of wax crystals and emulsified water droplets, as well as their dynamic aggregation process. Main outcomes on the microscopic mechanism were obtained by developed microscopic image processing method. It was found that the microstructure of W/O waxy crude oil emulsion has the evolution of “individual structure--homogeneous aggregate structure--heterogeneous coaggregate structure--floc structure” during the static cooling, which results in the four stages during gelation process. Different from previous studies, the aggregation of emulsified water droplets was found to be more significant and contributes to the formation and development of the wax crystals-emulsified water droplets coaggregate, which plays a decisive role in the further evolution of the gelled microstructure. Time series microscopic images show the dynamic aggregation of emulsified water droplets and wax crystals. Two different aggregation behaviours between wax crystals and water droplets were observed. That wax crystals can not only embed in gaps between adjacent water droplets and enhance the structure, but also surround the outside of the water droplets and continue to grow resulting in the interconnection of different coaggregates to form a larger floc structure. In addition, correlation between viscoelasticity and microstructure evolution of waxy crude oil emulsions of different water contents was discussed. With increasing water contents, the microstructure is changed from wax crystal flocculation structure as the main skeleton and the emulsified water droplets embedded in it, into the aggregation of emulsified water droplets occupying the main position. Enhanced Performance of Denitrifying Sulfide Removal Process by 1,2-Naphthoquinone-4-Sulphonate

The denitrifying sulfide removal(DSR) process with bio-granules comprising both heterotrophic and autotrophic denitrifiers can simultaneously convert nitrate, sulfide and acetate species into di-nitrogen gas, elemental sulfur and carbon dioxide, respectively, at high loading rates. This study has determined that the reaction rate of sulfide oxidized into sulfur could be enhanced in the presence of 1,2-naphthoquinone-4-sulphonate(NQS). The presence of NQS mitigated the inhibition effects of sulfide species on denitrification. Furthermore, the reaction rates of nitrate and acetate to nitrogen gas and CO_2, respectively, were also promoted in the presence of NQS, thereby enhancing the performance of DSR granules. The advantages and disadvantages of applying the NQS-DSR process are discussed.

Correlation between detrended fluctuation analysis and the Lempel-Ziv complexity in nonlinear time series analysis

We study the correlation between detrended fluctuation analysis（DFA） and the Lempel-Ziv complexity（LZC） in nonlinear time series analysis in this *** dynamic systems including a logistic map and a Duffing model are ***,the influence of Gaussian random noise on both the DFA and LZC are *** results show a high correlation between the DFA and LZC,which can quantify the non-stationarity and the nonlinearity of the time series,*** the enhancement of the random component,the exponent α and the normalized complexity index C show increasing *** addition,C is found to be more sensitive to the fluctuation in the nonlinear time series than α.Finally,the correlation between the DFA and LZC is applied to the extraction of vibration signals for a reciprocating compressor gas valve,and an effective fault diagnosis result is obtained.

Equivalent construction of the infinitesimal time translation operator in algebraic dynamics algorithm for partial differential evolution equation

We give an equivalent construction of the infinitesimal time translation operator for partial differential evolution equation in the algebraic dynamics algorithm proposed by Shun-Jin Wang and his students. Our construction involves only simple partial differentials and avoids the derivative terms of δ function which appear in the course of computation by means of Wang-Zhang operator. We prove Wang’s equivalent theorem which says that our construction and Wang-Zhang’s are equivalent. We use our construction to deal with several typical equations such as nonlinear advection equation, Burgers equation, nonlinear Schrodinger equation, KdV equation and sine-Gordon equation, and obtain at least second order approximate solutions to them. These equations include the cases of real and complex field variables and the cases of the first and the second order time derivatives.

Key techniques of robot for work of drainpipe deposit cleaning

According to the requirement of automatization of drainpipe deposit cleaning work in the municipal engineering works,a kind of robot for drainpipe deposit cleaning work has been researched and manufactured with the simulation analysis and the technique of virtual *** this paper,the composition principle and key techniques of the robot are elaborated in detail,including the technique of adapting and adjusting the change of pipe diameter,technique of obstacle crossing,technique of walking and driving and so *** manufactured prototype and results of tests show that the robot possesses characteristics,such as adapting range of pipe diameter between 400 and 500 mm,the walk speed with 2 m /min,the drag force beyond 3 kN,and the walk distance with 1 km.

Perfect optomechanically induced transparency in two-cavity optomechanics

Here,we study the controllable optical responses in a two-cavity optomechanical system,especially on the perfect optomechanically induced transparency(OMIT)in the model which has never been studied *** results show that the perfect OMIT can still occur even with a large mechanical damping rate,and at the perfect transparency window the long-lived slow light can be *** addition,we find that the conversion between the perfect OMIT and optomechanically induced absorption can be easily achieved just by adjusting the driving field strength of the second *** believe that the results can be used to control optical transmission in modern optical networks.
