Simulations of vertical jet penetration using a filtered two-fluid model in a gas-solid fluidized bed

The influence of a vertical jet located at the distributor in a cylindrical fluidized bed on the flow behavior of gas and particles was predicted using a filtered two-fluid model proposed by Sundaresan and coworkers. The distributions of volume fraction and the velocity of particles along the lateral direction were investigated for different jet velocities by analyzing the simulated results. The vertical jet penetration lengths at the different gas jet velocities have been obtained and compared with predictions derived from empirical correlations; the predicted air jet penetration length is discussed. Agreement between the numerical simulations and experimental results has been achieved.

Particle motion in a screw conveyor was simulated w让h the discrete element method. The particle flow behavior and transport processes at different screw rotating speeds and filling levels were investigated in this study. The spatial distributions of particle velocity were predicted. The predicted mass flow rate increased w让h increasing screw rotating speed and filling level. The contact forces and granular temperatures of particles were also calculated. The simulation results showed that the translational granular particle temperatures were higher than the rotational granular particle temperatures. In add让ion, the configurational temperatures of particles were calculated from simulated instantaneous particle overlaps, and results indicated that deformation of elastic particles contributed to the rate of energy dissipation. Good agreement between the numerical simulation and experimental results was achieved in this study.

By means of X-ray diffraction（XRD）, N2 adsorption-desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, NH3-temperature（NH3-TPD）, Py-infrared（Py-IR） and thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry（TG/DTA） techniques, the influences of Ce on the structure, acidity, stability and hydroisomerization performance of Ni-HPW/MCM-48 and Ni-HPW/Ce-MCM-48 catalysts were studied. The results showed that introduction of appropriate content of Ce into MCM-48 could improve the crystallinity, acidity and stability of mesoporous silica. The acidity and stability of the Ni-HPW/Ce-MCM-48 catalyst was also increased. Besides, the catalytic performance of the Ni-HPW/Ce-MCM-48 catalyst for n-heptane hydroisomerization was promoted. The conversion and selectivity of the Ni-HPW/Ce-MCM-48 catalyst reached 41% and 91% respectively at the preparation conditions of 4 wt.% Ni, 20 wt.% HPW, 0.03 Ce/Si molar ratio.

Quantitative Metal Magnetic Memory Reliability Modeling for Welded Joints

Metal magnetic memory（MMM） testing has been widely used to detect welded joints. However, load levels, environmental magnetic field, and measurement noises make the MMM data dispersive and bring difficulty to quantitative evaluation. In order to promote the development of quantitative MMM reliability assessment, a new MMM model is presented for welded joints. Steel Q235 welded specimens are tested along the longitudinal and horizontal lines by TSC-2M-8 instrument in the tensile fatigue experiments. The X-ray testing is carried out synchronously to verify the MMM results. It is found that MMM testing can detect the hidden crack earlier than X-ray testing. Moreover, the MMM gradient vector sum K_（vs） is sensitive to the damage degree, especially at early and hidden damage stages. Considering the dispersion of MMM data, the K_（vs） statistical law is investigated, which shows that K_（vs） obeys Gaussian distribution. So K_（vs） is the suitable MMM parameter to establish reliability model of welded joints. At last, the original quantitative MMM reliability model is first presented based on the improved stress strength interference theory. It is shown that the reliability degree R gradually decreases with the decreasing of the residual life ratio T, and the maximal error between prediction reliability degree R_1 and verification reliability degree R_2 is 9.15%. This presented method provides a novel tool of reliability testing and evaluating in practical engineering for welded joints.

To enhance the approximation ability of traditional Artificial neural network(ANN), by introducing the quantum rotation gates and the multi-qubits controlled-NOT gates to ANN, we proposed a Sequence input-based quantum-inspired neural network(SIQNN).In our model, the hidden nodes are composed of some multi-qubits controlled-NOT gates, the inputs are described by the multi-dimensional discrete qubits sequences,the output nodes are the traditional neurons. The model parameters include the rotation angles of quantum rotation gates in hide layer and the weights in output *** learning algorithms were derived by employing the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. Simulation results of predicting the runoff of the Hongjiadu Reservoir show that,the SIQNN is obviously superior to the ANN.

Currently, almost all color image encryption/decryption algorithms are designed based on a classical computer, in which the key space is relatively small,and the huge gains from quantum parallelism are not obtained. To address this problem, we propose a novel color image encryption/decryption method based on random rotation of qubit and Quantum Fourier transform(QFT).First, the color image is represented in a quantum superposition state |Image>, in which the color information of each pixel is described by only one qubit |c>. Then, the |c> are randomly rotated on the Bloch sphere about three coordinate axis, and the QFT is performed on the |Image>.Once again, the |c> is randomly rotated on the Bloch sphere and then the inverse QFT is performed on the |Image>,which the encryption process is implemented. The keys are the rotation angles of two above-mentioned *** decryption is the inverse process of the *** method may run on a quantum computer in the future. The simulation results on the classic computer show that our approaches have better security.

The flow characteristics in a spouted-fluid bed differ from those in spouted or fluidized beds because of the injection of the spouting gas and the introduction of a fluidizing gas. The flow behavior of gas-solid phases was predicted using the Eulerian-Eulerian two-fluid model （TFM） approach with kinetic theory for granular flow to obtain the flow patterns in spouted-fluid beds. The gas flux and gas incident angle have a significant influence on the porosity and particle concentration in gas-solid spouted-fluid beds. The fluidizing gas flux affects the flow behavior of particles in the fountain. In the spouted-fluid bed, the solids volume fraction is low in the spout and high in the annulus. However, the solids volume fraction is reduced near the wall.

This paper deals with a recursive filtering problem for a class of discrete time-varying nonlinear networked systems with the encoding-decoding mechanism. The linear fitting method is introduced to handle the nonlinearity. An encoding-decoding mechanism is constructed to describe the data transmission process in wireless communication networks(WCNs). To be specific, the measurement outputs are mapped by a quantizer to unique codewords for transmission in WCNs. Then, the codewords are decoded by the decoder to recover the measurement outputs which are sent to the filter. The processing/encoding delay and network delay have been considered. Firstly, on the premise that the upper bound of the filtering error covariance is minimum, the appropriate filtering gain is calculated. Then, the mean square exponential boundedness of the filtering error is analyzed. Finally, two simulation examples are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
