Track-Pattern-Based Characteristics of Extratropical Transitioning Tropical Cyclones in the Western North Pacific

Based on the Regional Specialized Meteorological Center(RSMC)Tokyo-Typhoon Center best-track data and the NCEP-NCAR reanalysis dataset,extratropical transitioning(ET)tropical cyclones(ETCs)over the western North Pacific(WNP)during 1951–2021 are classified into six clusters using the fuzzy c-means clustering method(FCM)according to their track *** characteristics of the six hard-clustered ETCs with the highest membership coefficient are *** tropical cyclones(TCs)that were assigned to clusters C2,C5,and C6 made landfall over eastern Asian countries,which severely threatened these *** landfalling TCs,93.2%completed their ET after landfall,whereas 39.8%of ETCs completed their transition within one *** frequency of ETCs over the WNP has decreased in the past four decades,wherein cluster C5 demonstrated a significant decrease on both interannual and interdecadal timescales with the expansion and intensification of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH).This large-scale circulation pattern is favorable for C2 and causes it to become the dominant track pattern,owning to it containing the largest number of intensifying ETCs among the six clusters,a number that has increased insignificantly over the past four *** surface roughness variation and three-dimensional background circulation led to C5 containing the maximum number of landfalling TCs and a minimum number of intensifying *** results will facilitate a better understanding of the spatiotemporal distributions of ET events and associated environment background fields,which will benefit the effective monitoring of these events over the WNP.

Condition-based Maintenance Optimization for Gamma Deteriorating Systems under Performance-based Contracting

With the further development of service-oriented,performance-based contracting(PBC)has been widely adopted in industry and ***,maintenance optimization problems under PBC have not received enough *** further extend the scope of PBC’s application in the field of maintenance optimization,we investigate the condition-based maintenance(CBM)optimization for gamma deteriorating systems under *** the repairable single-component system subject to the gamma degradation process,this paper proposes a CBM optimization model to maximize the profit and improve system performance at a relatively low cost under *** the proposed CBM model,the first inspection interval has been considered in order to reduce the inspection frequency and the cost ***,a particle swarm algorithm(PSO)and related solution procedure are presented to solve the multiple decision variables in our proposed *** the end,a numerical example is provided so as to demonstrate the superiority of the presented *** comparing the proposed policy with the conventional ones,the superiority of our proposed policy is proved,which can bring more profits to providers and improve *** analysis is conducted in order to research the effect of corrective maintenance cost and time required for corrective maintenance on optimization policy.A comparative study is given to illustrate the necessity of distinguishing the first inspection interval or not.

Weighted spectral correlation angle target detection method for land‑based hyperspectral imaging

In land-based spectral imaging,the spectra of ground objects are inevitably afected by the imaging conditions(weather conditions,atmospheric conditions,light conditions,zenith and azimuth angle conditions)and spatial distribution of targets,leading to uncertainties featured by“same object diferent spectrum”.That is,the spectrum of a ground object may change within a certain range under diferent imaging *** target detection(TD)methods are mainly based on similarity measurements and do not fully account for the spectral *** detection methods are prone to false detections or missed ***,reducing the impact of spectral uncertainties on TD is an important research topic in hyperspectral *** this paper,we frst review traditional TD methods and compare their principles and *** is found that the spectral correlation angle(SCA)method has good adaptability in land-based *** shortcoming of the SCA method that it cannot refect the local spectrum characteristics,is also *** the efect of spectral uncertainties cannot be completely overcome by the SCA method,a new similarity measurement method,the weighted spectral correlation angle(WSCA)method,is *** can reduce the infuence of spectral uncertainties on TD by increasing the weight of particular ***,we use two sets of experiments to analyze the efect of the WSCA method on *** performance in overcoming spectral uncertainties caused by variations in imaging conditions or uneven spatial distributions of targets is *** results show that the WSCA method can efectively reduce the infuence of spectral uncertainties and obtain a good detection result.

An expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China

This is an expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of thoracolumbar spinal injury, estab- lished from February 2009 to July 2010. The expert consensus consists mainly of six parts with a total of 54 recommendations including the overview （one item）; pre-hospital care （one item）; evaluation and diagnosis （13 items）; treatment （23 items）; prevention and treatment of major com- plications （12 items）; and rehabilitation （four items）. This is the first time that Chinese experts have published a consensus on spine and spinal cord injury. The expert consensus was established based on Delphi methods, literature analysis, and clinical experiences. Each recommendation is supported by and was interpreted using multi-level evidences. The level of agreement with the rec- ommendation among the panel members was assessed as either low, moderate, or strong. Each panel member was asked to indicate his or her level of agreement on a 5-point scale, with ＂1＂ cor- respondJng to neutrality and ＂5＂ representJng maxJmum agreement. Scores were aggregated across the panel members and an arithmetic mean was calculated. This mean score was then translated into low, moderate, or strong. After all of the votes were collected and calculated, the results showed no low-level recommendations, 10 moderate-level recommendations, and 44 strong-level recom- mendations. An expert consensus was reached and was recognized by Chinese spine surgeons. Wide-scale adoption of these recommendations is urgent in the management of acute thora- columbar spine and spinal cord injury in a broader attempt to create a standard evaluation and treatment strategy for acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China.

Research on fixed-time time-varying formation of heterogeneous multi-agent systems based on tracking error observer under DoS attacks OA

In this paper,the fixed-time time-varying formation of heterogeneous multi-agent systems(MASs) based on tracking error observer under denial-of-service(DoS) attacks is ***,the dynamic pinning strategy is used to reconstruct the communication channel for the system that suffers from DoS attacks to prevent the discontinuous transmission information of the communication network from affecting MASs ***,considering that the leader state is not available to each follower under DoS attacks,a fixed-time distributed observer without velocity information is constructed to estimate the tracking error between followers and the ***,adaptive radial basis function neural network(RBFNN) is used to approximate the unknown ensemble disturbances in the system,and the fixed-time time-varying formation scheme is designed with the constructed *** effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm is demonstrated by the numerical simulation.

An executable modeling and analyzing approach to C4ISR architecture

Renormalization of Tripartite Entanglement in Spin Systems with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya Interaction

Quantum entanglement represents a fundamental feature of quantum many-body systems. We combine tripartite entanglement with quantum renormalization group theory to study the quantum critical phenomena. The Ising model and the Heisenberg X X Z model in the presence of the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction are adopted as the research objects. We identify that the tripartite entanglement can signal the critical point. The derivative of tripartite entanglement shows singularity as the spin chain size increases. Furthermore, the intuitive scaling behavior of the system selected is studied and the result allows us to precisely quantify the correlation exponent by utilizing the power law.

Comparison of microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium/ steel composite plates by two manufacturing processes

Two types of titanium/steel composite plates with the same thickness were manufactured by parallel explosive welding and double vertical explosive welding and rolling, respectively. The comparative analysis of microstructure showed that the interface of double vertical explosive welding plate （B plate） tended to be straight while the interface of parallel explosive welding plate （A plate） was wavy bonding. Defects near the interface of B plate were extruded, and the thickness of the diffusion layer of B plate was thicker under the effects of preheating temperature and press-working. Comparative tests of mechanical properties indicated that the tensile shear strength of B plate was lower while its micro-hardness was higher. Specimens of these two types of plates were neither separated nor cracked after bending up to 180° in the three-point bending test. From the microstructural observation of tensile fracture characteristics, A plate had strong toughness fracture while B plate had mainly ductile fracture with cleavage fracture as the supplement. Macroscopically, the tensile strength of the latter was 7.9% less than that of the former. However, both satisfied the Chinese standard of tensile strength.

Leveraging partially overlapping channels for intra-and inter-coalition communication in cooperative UAV swarms

Cooperative UAV swarms typically adopt coalition-based network structures for executing tasks more efficiently. Coalition heads in such networks need to do both intra-and inter-coalition communication and may operate on different channels. While being equipped with multiple transceivers or switching among channels are alternative methods, this option would result in larger payload or incur delays. Fortunately,partially overlapping channels(POCs) can be used to forward messages on different channels since communication can be made on adjacent overlapped channels. This can help realize both intra-and inter-coalition communication with heads being equipped with only one transceiver and no switching. Therefore, this paper proposes a POC-based communication method where each coalition selects one of the POCs and UAVs in the same coalition operating on the same channel. While POCs enable information exchange among coalitions,they also incur inter-coalition interference and therefore the POC access problem is investigated. Owing to the coupled relationships among the strategies of coalitions, the problem is a combinatorial optimization one and an online learning algorithm is proposed. The algorithm is distributed and reduces the computation complexity to a great extent. Based on the knowledge of the potential game theory, the algorithm is proved to converge to the optimal solution of each stage asymptotically. Under three representative settings,simulations are made to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
