Microstructure Evolution and Grain Coarsening Behaviour During Partial Remelting of Cyclic Extrusion Compression Formed AZ61 Magnesium Alloy

The effects of CEC passes, isothermal holding time and reheating temperature on the microstructure evolution and grain coarsening behaviour of AZ61 magnesium alloy produced by the recrystallisation and partialmelting （RAP） process were investigated. Before partial remelting, as-cast AZ61 alloy was deformed by cyclic extrusion compression （CEC） with one pass and two pass at 330 ℃. After CEC, the microstructure consisted of unrecrystallized grains and deformed eutectic compounds. Increasing isothermal holding time resulted in the formation of spheroidal grains surrounded by liquid films. With increasing the isothermal holding time, the solid grain size increased and the degree of spheroidization was improved. With increasing the reheating temperature, namely increasing liquid fraction, the solid grain size obviously decreased during the period from 560 ℃ to 570 ℃ and then slightly increased after 570 ℃, while the shape factor increased monotonously. During partial remelting, increasing reheating temperature can properly short the isothermal holding time to obtain fine structure. Moreover, increasing the numbers of CEC passes could produce finer semi-solid microstructure. The coarsening behavior of solid grains in the semi-solid state obeys Ostwald ripening and grain coalescence mechanisms. The coarsening rate constant, K, 595 ℃. After CEC plus partial remelting, the ideal and fine was suitable for thixoforming. was 80μm^3.s^-1 for samples partially remelted at semi-solid state structure can be obtained, which

According to different damage modes,warheads are roughly divided into three types:fragmentation warheads,shaped charge warheads,and penetrating *** to limitations in material and structural manufacturing,traditional manufacturing methods make it difficult to fully utilize the damage ability of the *** manufacturing(AM)technology can fabricate complex structures,with classified materials composition and customized components,while achieving low cost,high accuracy,and rapid production of the *** maturity of AM technology has brought about a new round of revolution in the field of *** this paper,we first review the principles,classifications,and characteristics of different AM *** development trends of AM technologies are pointed out,including multi-material AM technology,hybrid AM technology,and smart AM *** our survey,PBF,DED,and EBM technologies are mainly used to manufacture warhead damage *** and DIW technologies are mainly used to manufacture warhead ***,the research on the application of AM technology in three types of warhead and warhead charges was reviewed and the existing problems and progress of AM technologies in each warhead were ***,we summarized the typical applications and look forward to the application prospects of AM technology in the field of warheads.

Microstructure evolution of an Mg-Zn-Nd-Zr magnesium alloy during recrystallization and partial remelting process

To obtain a spheroidal microstructure of a semi-solid Mg-Zn-Nd-Zr alloy,which is favorable for the subsequent thixocasting process,the recrystallization and partial remelting(RAP)method was used in this study,and the microstructure evolution of the alloy and the mechanism of the shape factor change during the RAP process were *** as-cast Mg-Zn-Nd-Zr alloy was prepared in a metal mold and then extruded into bars with an extrusion ratio of 16:*** remelting was carried out on the extruded samples at 589℃(at a heating rate of 0.5℃·s-1)for different holding times ranging from 0 to 90 *** examine the effect of heating rate,partial remelting of samples at the heating rate of 2℃·s-1was also *** show that the extruded microstructure rapidly evolutes into recrystallized grains in the semi-solid state;the liquid f ilm initially forms at grain boundaries during the partial remelting,and then gradually changes from continuous into discontinuous state with the increase of holding time;this results in the agglomeration of adjacent grains and the decrease in shape *** value of shape factor increases continuously with holding time at f irst and reaches the maximum 0.62 when holding for 60 min,while decreases rapidly after a prolonged holding ***,local melting,mainly due to the inhomogeneous deformation during extrusion,becomes more signif icant and less uniformly distributed at a relatively higher reheating *** Mg-Zn-Nd-Zr magnesium alloy components have been thixo-cast successfully using the RAP method,which strongly proves the feasibility of RAP process in Mg-Zn-Nd-Zr alloy.

On load dependence of detachment rate of kinesin motor

Kinesin is an archetypal microtubule-based molecular motor that can generate force to transport cargo in cells. The load dependence of the detachment rate is an important factor of the kinesin motor, the determination of which is critically related to the chemomechanical coupling mechanism of the motor. Here, we use three models for the load dependence of the detachment rate of the kinesin motor to study theoretically and numerically the maximal force generated and microtubuleattachment duration of the motor. By comparing the theoretical and numerical results with the available experimental data,we show that only one model can explain well the available experimental data, indicating that only this model can be applicable to the kinesin motor.

Earthquakes pose significant perils to the built environment in urban *** avert the calamitous aftermath of earthquakes,it is imperative to construct seismic resilient *** to the intricacy of the concept of urban seismic resilience(USR),its assessment is a large-scale system engineering *** assessment of USR should be based on the notion of urban seismic capacity(USC)assessment,which includes casualties,economic loss,and recovery time as *** loss is also included in the assessment of USR in addition to these *** assessment indicator system comprising five dimensions(building and lifeline infrastructure,environment,society,economy,and institution)and 20 indicators has been devised to quantify *** analytical hierarchy process(AHP)is utilized to compute the weights of the criteria,dimensions,and indicators in the urban seismic resilience assessment(USRA)indicator *** the necessary data for a city are obtainable,the seismic resilience of that city can be assessed using this *** illustrate the proposed methodology,a moderate-sized city in china was selected as a case *** assessment results indicate a high level of USR,suggesting that the city possesses strong capabilities to withstand and recover from potential future earthquakes.

Furniture is identified as a vital volatile organic compound(VOC)emission source in the indoor *** has become the most common raw and auxiliary fabric material for upholstered furniture,particularly with extensive consumption in sofas,due to its abundant resources and efficient *** being widely traded across the world,little research has been conducted on the VOCs released by leathermaterials and their health risk assessment in the indoor ***,this study investigated the VOC emissions of leather with different grades and the health risk of the inhalation *** on the ultra-fast gas phase electronic nose(EN)and GC-FID/Qtof,the substantial emissions of aliphatic aldehyde ketones(Aks),particularly hexanal,appear to be the cause of off-flavor in medium and low grade(MG and LG)sofa *** health risk assessment indicated that leather materials barely pose non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic effects to *** the abundance of VOC sources and the accumulation of health risks in the indoor environment,more stringent specifications concerning qualitative and quantitative content should be extended to provide VOC treatment basic for the manufacturing industry and obtain better indoor air quality.

Nanostructured Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy synthesized by cryomilling and spark plasma sintering

Nanocrystallized Al-10.0%Zn-3.0%Mg-1.8%Cu(mass fraction)alloy powder was prepared by cryomilling,and then the nanostructured powder was consolidated into bulk material by spark plasma sintering(SPS).The microstructural evolution and phase transformation were studied.A supersaturated face-centered cubic solid solution is formed after cryomilling for 10 h,and the average grain size is 28 *** typical nanostructures of the bulk nanostructured alloy are observed:primarily equiaxed grains with size of 150 nm,and occasionally occurring sub-micron grains up to 500 *** types of MgZn2 particles precipitate during consolidation. One is the sub-micron particles distributed along the boundaries of the powders,and the other is fine particles with size of several nanometers in the matrix,especially at the boundaries of sub-micron *** second phase particles can be completely dissolved into matrix by proper solid solution treatment.

Seismic fragility analysis(SFA)is known as an effective probabilistic-based approach used to evaluate seismic *** are various sources of uncertainties associated with this approach.A nuclear power plant(NPP)system is an extremely important infrastructure and contains many structural uncertainties due to construction issues or structural deterioration during *** of structural uncertainties effects is a costly and time-consuming endeavor.A novel approach to SFA for the NPP considering structural uncertainties based on the damage state is proposed and *** results suggest that considering the structural uncertainties is essential in assessing the fragility of the NPP structure,and the impact of structural uncertainties tends to increase with the state of ***,machine learning(ML)is found to be superior in high-precision damage state identification of the NPP for reducing the time of nonlinear time-history analysis(NLTHA)and could be applied in the damage state-based ***,the impact of various sources of uncertainties is investigated through sensitivity *** Sobol and Shapley additive explanations(SHAP)method can be complementary to each other and able to solve the problem of quantifying seismic and structural uncertainties simultaneously and the interaction effect of each parameter.
