Triple plasmon-induced transparency and outstanding slow-light in quasi-continuous monolayer graphene structure

We propose a simple quasi-continuous monolayer graphene structure and achieve a dynamically tunable triple plasmon-induced transparency(PIT)effect in the proposed *** analyses indicate that the proposed structure contains a selfconstructed bright-dark-dark mode system.A uniform theoretical model is introduced to investigate the spectral response characteristics and slow light-effects in the proposed system,and the theoretical and the simulated results exhibit high *** addition,the influences of the Fermi level and the carrier mobility of graphene on transmission spectra are *** is found that each PIT window exhibits an independent dynamical adjustability owing to the quasi-continuity of the proposed ***,the slow-light effects are investigated based on the calculation of the group refractive index and phase *** is found that the structure displays excellent slow-light effects near the PIT windows with high-group indices,and the maximum group index of each PIT window exceeds 1000 when the carrier mobility of graphene increases to 3.5 m^2 V^-1s^-*** proposed structure has potential to be used in multichannel filters,optical switches,modulators,and slow-light ***,the established theoretical model lays a theoretical basis for research on multimode coupling effects.

Japanese unionoid mussels are classified into 2 families (Margaritiferidae and Unionidae), 12 genera, and 18 species based on the morphological characteristics of both adults and larvae;however, there are some debates regarding their systematics. In this study, we determined mitochondrial 16S ribosomal DNA sequences (347-bp) for 60 specimens belonging to 18 species and constructed trees to elucidate phylogenetic relationships and evaluate the current systematics of Japanese unionoid mussels. Almost all species formed clades, except for Inversiunio yanagawensis, Sinanodonta lauta, S. japonica, and Margaritifera laevis, even though two or more specimens were collected from distant localities. All genera formed highly supported clades with the exception of the genus Sinanodonta. Phylogenetic relationships obtained in this study supported systematics based on morphological and larval traits. Therefore, the current phylogenetic relationships and systematics of Japanese unionoid mussels are stronger than they were before;now that they are corroborated by genetic data.

Fingerprint segmentation is an important step in fingerprint recognition and is usually aimed to identify non-ridge regions and unrecoverable low quality ridge regions and exclude them as background so as to reduce the time expenditure of image processing and avoid detecting false features. In high and in low quality ridge regions, often are some remaining ridges which are the afterimages of the previously scanned finger and are expected to be excluded from the foreground. However, existing seg-mentation methods generally do not take the case into consideration, and often, the remaining ridge regions are falsely classified as foreground by segmentation algorithm with spurious features produced erroneously including unrecoverable regions as fore-ground. This paper proposes two steps for fingerprint segmentation aimed at removing the remaining ridge region from the fore-ground. The non-ridge regions and unrecoverable low quality ridge regions are removed as background in the first step, and then the foreground produced by the first step is further analyzed for possible remove of the remaining ridge region. The proposed method proved effective in avoiding detecting false ridges and in improving minutiae detection.

This paper is devoted to a class of inverse coefficient problems for nonlinear elliptic hemivariational inequalities. The unknown coefficient of elliptic hemivariational inequalities depends on the gradient of the solution and belongs to a set of admissible coefficients. It is shown that the nonlinear elliptic hemivariational inequalities are uniquely solvable for the given class of coefficients. The result of existence of quasisolutions of the inverse problems is obtained.

A novel fluorescent probe was synthesized and studied. Fluorescent probe 1 undergoes a unique Pi induced hydrolytic reaction in DMSO‐ HEPES at physiological pH that produces a colorimetric change associated with a 76 nm red‐shift in the UV‐vis absorption maximum and up to a 210‐fold enhancement in the fluorescence intensity. It has successfully been used to stain and record microscopy images of HeLa cells. Moreover, the mechanistic proposal that these spectroscopic changes are associated with the reaction of Pi and probe 1 to form 2‐(2‐hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole gains support from the results of mass spectrometry studied.

The aim of this paper is to get the decomposition of distributional derivatives of functions with bounded variation in the framework of Carnot-Caratheodory spaces (C-C spaces in brievity) in which the vector fields are of Carnot type. For this purpose the approximate continuity of BV functions is discussed first, then approximate differentials of L1 functions are defined in the case that vector fields are of Carnot type and finally the decomposition Xu = (?)u ·Ln + X2 u is proved, where u ∈ BVx(?) and (Ω)u denotes the approximate differential of u.

Synergistic graphene/aluminum surface plasmon coupling for zinc oxide lasing improvement

Collective oscillations of free electrons generate plasmons on the surface of a material. A whispering-gallery microcavity effectively confines the light field on its surface based on the total reflection from its internal wall. When these two kinds of electromagnetic waves meet each other, the stimulated emissions from an individual ZnO microrod were enhanced more than 50-fold and the threshold was reduced after the whispering-gallery microcavity was coated with a monolayer of graphene and A1 nanoparticles. The improvement of the lasing performance was attributed to the synergistic energy coupling of the graphene/A1 surface plasmons with ZnO excitons. The lasing characteristics and the coupling mechanism were investigated systematically.

We performed large-scale molecular simulation to screen and identify metal-organic framework materials for gaseous iodine capture,as part of our ongoing effort in addressing management and handling issues of various radionuclides in the grand scheme of spent nuclear fuel *** from the computation-ready experimental(CoRE)metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)database,grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation was employed to predict the iodine uptake values of the MOFs.A ranking list of MOFs based on their iodine uptake capabilities was generated,with the Top 10 candidates identified and their respective adsorption sites ***,machine learning was used to establish structure-property relationships to correlate MOFs’various structural and chemical features with their corresponding performances in iodine capture,yielding interpretable common features and design rules for viable MOF *** research strategy and framework of the present study could aid the development of high-performing MOF adsorbents for capture and recovery of radioactive iodine,and moreover,other volatile environmentally hazardous species.
