Owing to techno.ogical developments,Medical image analysis has received considerable attention in the rapid detection and classification of *** brain is an essential organ in *** tumors cause loss of memory,vision,and *** 2020,approximately 18,020 deaths occurred due to brain *** cases can be minimized if a brain tumor is diagno.ed at a very early *** vision researchers have introduced several techniques for brain tumor detection and ***,owing to many factors,this is still a challenging *** challenges relate to the tumor size,the shape of a tumor,location of the tumor,selection of important features,among *** this study,we proposed a framework for multimodal brain tumor classification using an ensemble of optimal deep learning *** the proposed framework,initially,a database is no.malized in the form of high-grade glioma(HGG)and low-grade glioma(LGG)patients and then two pre-trained deep learning models(ResNet50 and Densenet201)are *** deep learning models were modified and trained using transfer ***,the enhanced ant colony optimization algorithm is proposed for best feature selection from both deep *** selected features are fused using a serial-based approach and classified using a cubic support vector *** experimental process was conducted on the BraTs2019 dataset and achieved accuracies of 87.8%and 84.6%for HGG and LGG,*** comparison is performed using several classification methods,and it shows the significance of our proposed technique.

Variation analysis of growth traits of four poplar clones under different water and fertilizer management

To determine appropriate quantities of water and fertilizer required for early growth of hybrid poplar cuttings,we recorded the growth traits of four clones grown under four factors(irrigation and nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium fertilizers),each with four levels,using an orthogonal experimental design.A logistic model was used to estimate growth in *** growth curves for tree height were sigmoid,and the model R^2 values were greater than 0.9,which indicated that the fit was highly *** results for tree height and basal diameter indicated that all sources of variance showed significant differences(p201 cm when treated with either 1200 mL of water applied every third day,3 g of nitrogen,0 g of phosphorus,or 0 g of potassium,*** most suitable treatment for the early growth of hybrid poplar cuttings,as suggested by the developed logistic model,was 1200 mL of water applied every third day and three applications of 1 g nitrogen(in the form of CH4N2O).

We consider a parametric Dirichlet problem driven by the p-Laplacian with a Caratheodory reaction of equidiffusive type. Our hypotheses incorporate as a special case the equidiffusive p-logistic equation. We show that if λ1 〉 0 is the principal eigenvalue of the Dirichlet negative p-Laplacian and ）λ 〉 λ1 （/k being the parameter）, the problem has a unique positive solution, while for ）λ ∈ （0, λ1], the problem has no.positive solution.

Ultrasound Diameter of the Portal Vein to Healthy Adult in Parakou (Benin)

Introduction: The portal vein (PVD) diameter is one of the predictive variables of portal hypertension. This diameter can differ according to the population. The objective of this study was to determine the PVD in a healthy adult population in Parakou using ultrasono.raphy. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in the medical imaging department of the Borgou and Alibori University-affiliated Hospitals in Parakou from July 1st to October 1st, 2019. The study population consisted of 201 healthy adults. The ultrasound diameter of the portal vein was measured at the level of the hepatic hilum on a cross-sectional epigastric view and on an oblique intercostal view. An association was sought between the PVD and sociodemographic and anthropometric factors. Results: The mean age was 28.97 ± 10.56 years and the sex ratio (M/F) was 0.79. The mean PVD in regular breathing (FB) was 9.83 ± 0.95 mm with a 95% confidence interval of [9.70;9.97], a 95th percentile of 11.49 mm with extremes of 7.50 mm and 12.23 mm. PVD was correlated with age, sex, weight, height and abdominal girth. After multiple linear regressions (r = 0.19), there was correlation between the PVD in no.mal breathing with age (p = 0.0090), weight (p = 0.0026), body mass index (p = 0.0171) and body surface (p = 0.004). Conclusion: A PVD greater in no.mal adults is less than 12 mm and seems to be correlated to the subject age, weight, body mass index and body surface. A more than 13 mm PVD should lead to the suspicion of portal vein hypertension in adults in our populations.

Synapsin Polymorphisms Could Be Correlated with Stroop Simple Reaction Time Scores

Objective: The aim of this study was to research the relationship between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the synapsin III -196G>A and -631C>G polymorphisms and study their impact on neurocognition and behavior in Turkish children and adolescents. Methods: A total of 201 ADHD-diagno.ed children and 100 control subjects aged between 8 and 15 years were recruited, and genetic material was obtained from saliva. In the diagno.tic assessments, the KSADS- PL semi-structured interview was applied. Children with any comorbid psychiatric diagno.is (with the exclusion of oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)), medical conditions, prior psychotropic drug use history or IQ score below 80 were excluded. For the behavioral and ADHD symptom assessments, the Turgay DSM-IV Disruptive Behaviors Rating Scale, Teacher Report Form (TRF) and Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) were completed by the parents and teachers. Neurocognitive profiles were evaluated with the CNS-Vital Signs computerized neurocognitive test battery. Results: no.significant difference in ADHD prevalence was observed between subjects with the synapsin III gene -196G>A polymorphism and -631C>G polymorphisms. These polymorphisms were also no. associated with subtypes of ADHD. We found a relationship between both polymorphisms and Stroop simple reaction time. Conclusion: Synapsin’s effect could be limited during childhood, but synapsin polymorphisms could be associated with Stroop simple reaction time.

Comparison of ASBR and CSTR reactor for hydrogen production from palm oil mill effluent under thermophilic condition

Hydrogen production from palm oil mill effluent (POME) by Thermoanaerobacterium thermosaccharolyticum PSU-2 was investigated both in batch and continuous reactors using anaerobic sequencing batch reactor (ASBR) and continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). The hydrogen production determined from batch experiment of POME at an ino.ulum size of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% (v/v) was 161, 201, 246 and 296 mL H2/g-COD with COD removal efficiency of 21%, 23%, 23% and 23%, respectively. Continuous hydrogen production was start-up with 30% (v/v) ino.ulum in both ASBR and CSTR reactors and more than 30% COD removal could be obtained at HRT of 4 days, corresponding to OLR of 11.3 g COD/ L·day. Similar hydrogen production rates of 2.05 and2.16 LH2/L. day were obtained from ASBR and CSTR, respectively. COD removal efficiency of ASBR was 37.7%, while it was 44.8% for CSTR. However, ASBR was stable in term of alkalinity, while the CSTR was stable in term of hydrogen production, soluble metabolites concentration and alkalinity. Therefore, the CSTR was found to be more stable in hydrogen production than ASBR under the same OLR.

A realistic expectation of sea level rise in the Mexican Caribbean

This paper provides a realistic estimation of the sea level rise by 2050 and by 2100 in the Mexican Caribbean,and more specifically in the no.th-East side of the Yucatan peninsula,in between Cancun and Playa del Carmen,where the most part of the touristic developments of the Yucatan is *** forecast is based on the relative sea level result for Key West,the closest long-term trend(LTT)tide gauge,the relative sea level results for all the other LTT tide gauge records of the world,and the absolute velocity of GPS domes located close to the Key West tide gauge,and in between Cancun and Playa del *** likely change of the sea level is 67-76 mm higher by 2050,and 201-223 mm higher by 2100,with reference to the values of 2018.

Reduced Heart Rate Response during Drug-Induced Stress Is Related to the Severity of Perfusion Defect

Introduction: During the pharmacological stress test with dipyridamole, a no.mal hemodynamic response is slightly reduced blood pressure and raised heart rate (HR). However, sometimes the HR response is reduced. This study investigated the relationship between the HR response during the dipyridamole stress test and the severity of the perfusion defects using Thallium 201 myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We enrolled 50 patients undergoing dipyridamole stress at the nuclear cardiology Lab, Main University Hospital of Alexandria. Standard dipyridamole protocol (infusion over 4 min) and standard thallium 201 protocol (2 min after dipyridamole infusion) were followed. If the heart rate (HR) ratio (peak HR/rest HR) was 1.20 or less, it was considered a reduced response. Total perfusion defect (TPD), summed stress score (SSS), summed rest score (SRS), and summed difference score (SDS) for myocardial perfusion were calculated. Patients with reduced HR response and normal HR responses were compared and independent predictors of reduced HR response were determined. Results: About 56% of patients had reduced HR response;which included a high number of patients with a history of dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus. The reduced HR response group showed lower SSS, SRS. The analysis showed that the independent predictors of reduced HR response were rest HR, SSS, and diabetes mellitus. Conclusions: Reduction in the HR response during the dipyridamole-induced stress test is related to the severity of perfusion defect, diabetes mellitus, and Dyslipidemia.

Competing Risk Model for Time to Development of Tuberculosis among Adults on Combination Antiretroviral Treatment

The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting the time to development of tuberculosis in the presence of competing risks. In this case death before developing tuberculosis was deemed a competing risk because it altered the occurrence of the outcome of interest being time to development of tuberculosis from baseline. We used data from a randomized longitudinal clinical trial study called the “Tshepo” study. The “Tshepo” study was a 3-year randomized clinical study following 650 ART-naïve adults (69.4% female) from Botswana who initiated first-line NNRTI-based ART. Participants were assigned in equal proportions (in an open-label, unblinded fashion) to one of 6 initial treatment arms and one of two adherence arms using permuted block randomization. Randomization was stratified by CD4+ cell count (less than 200 cells/mm3, 201 - 350 cells/mm3) and by whether the participants had an adherence assistant. Classical methods such as the Kaplan-Meier method and standard Cox proportional hazards regression were used to analyze survival data igno.ing the competing event(s) which may have been inappropriate in the presence of competing risks. The idea was to use competing risk models to investigate how different treatment regimens affect the time to the development of TB and compare the results to those obtained using the classical survival analysis model which does no. account for competing risks. Amongst 38 patients who died 15.8% of them developed tuberculosis whilst 84.2% of those who died did no. develop the outcome of interest. The hazard ratio of treatment C was 1.069 implying that the risk of developing TB in patients taking treatment C is about 6.9% higher compared to those taking treatment A having adjusted for baseline age, baseline BMI, baseline CD4, Hemoglobin and gender. Similarly, after accounting for competing risks the hazard ratio for treatment C was about 1.89 implying that the risk of developing TB amongst those taking

Clinical and Therapeutic Management of Male Infertility in Thies, Senegal

Objective: To evaluate the clinical and therapeutic aspects of male subfertility in the Region of Thies. Patients and methods: This is a retrospective and analytical study involving patients followed for subfertility over a period of 4 years from January 2013 to no.ember 2017 at the level of 3 health structures in the region of Thies. Results: During the period, we collected 201 patients. The average age was 38 ± 8.4 years with a greater distribution in the age group 30-39 years. Primary subfertility was predominant with 81.1% of cases. The average duration was 5 years. We found a history of urethritis (4%) and orchiepididymitis (2.5%). Thirty-three percent of patients presented a varicocele (67 cases). Cryptorchidism was recorded in 2% of cases, testicular hypotrophy in 18.4% and testicular atrophy in 1.5%. The spermogram identified oligospermia-like abno.malities in 40.8% of cases, azoospermia 22.4%, and hypospermia 4%. For the qualitative abno.malities, we recorded cases of astheno.permia in 60.2% of the cases or 121 patients, a necrospermia 58.2% and a teratospermia 20.4%. A combination of these abno.malities was also reported as astheno.necrospermia in 19.4% of cases, oligo-astheno.necrospermia 14.4%, oligo-astheno.era-necrospermia 10% and oligo astero-teratospermia in 2.5%. An assessment of FSH, LH and testosterone was performed in 5.9% of the cases, or 12 patients. Varicocelectomy was performed in 68.4% of cases 19 patients, and (medically) assisted procreation in 2 patients. We recorded 13 cases of pregnancy. Conclusion: Male hypofertility is a real problem of management, and requires a particular approach.
