Parkinson’s disease(PD),one of whose symptoms is dysphonia,is a prevalent neurodegenerative *** use of outdated diagnosis techniques,which yield inaccurate and unreliable results,continues to represent an obstacle in early-stage detection and diagnosis for clinical professionals in the medical *** solve this issue,the study proposes using machine learning and deep learning models to analyze processed speech signals of patients’voice *** of these processed speech signals were obtained and experimented on by random forest and logistic regression *** were highly successful,with 90%accuracy produced by the random forest classifier and 81.5%by the logistic regression ***,a deep neural network was implemented to investigate if such variation in method could add to the *** proved to be effective,as the neural network yielded an accuracy of nearly 92%.Such results suggest that it is possible to accurately diagnose early-stage PD through merely testing patients’*** research calls for a revolutionary diagnostic approach in decision support systems,and is the first step in a market-wide implementation of healthcare software dedicated to the aid of clinicians in early diagnosis of PD.

The nature of oil and gas Nation's petroleum fiscal system affects the survival of exploration and production(E&P)companies during periods of low oil price as these companies are expected to pay royalty to the government irrespective of the price of *** affects the sustainability of E&P companies during periods of low oil *** is the need to design a petroleum fiscal systems that increases the chances of survival of firms during periods of low oil *** research therefore considered the economic analysis of a delayed royalty framework for investments in the exploration and production of *** delay in royalty payment was hinged as a function of the time it takes the contractor to recoup his investment *** economic models for petroleum investment in an onshore oil field were *** rate in the models was varied between 0 and 30%and oil price was also varied between$30-$120/*** 1 was the base case model with zero royalty *** model 2(Scenario 1)had royalty *** 3(Scenario 2)had a delayed royalty *** analysis was also carried out to see how the delayed royalty framework increases the sustainability of E&P firm using@Risk *** was observed that the delayed royalty framework increases the chances of survival of firms as the NPV for Scenario 2 was positive but without the framework,it was negative at an oil price of$30/*** payout period,government and contractor's take and the internal rate of return also show that the delayed royalty framework will increase the chances of a firm's survival during periods of low oil *** is seen that the delayed royalty framework is another way to make a petroleum fiscal system progressive aside the already known factors used globally.

Integrating Radar Altimeters and Optical Imagery Data for Estimating Water Volume Variations in Lakes and Reservoirs (Case Study: Lake Nasser)

Monitoring of variations in water for lakes and reservoirs is a requirement for meeting human needs and assessing ongoing climatic changes. However, regular gauging networks fail to provide the information needed for water volume data. The aim of this study is to evaluate an approach to estimate water volume variation for the southern part of Lake Nasser in Egypt without in-situ gauge measurements and bathymetry maps. Combination of both Hydroweb satellite altimetry and Landsat 8 satellite imagery data was used. As compared to in-situ water levels, satellite altimetry provided accurate water levels variations for Lake Nasser;the RMSE was 0.28 m, with excellent agreement (R2 is 0.98). The lowest water level of altimetry database i.e. 174.57 m was used as a reference level for estimating water volumes variations for the study duration 8/2014-6/2015. All water altimetry levels were converted to differences of recorded water level above the lowest altimetry Level (ΔWL). Series of Landsat 8 imagery data were selected to extract surface areas corresponding to radar altimetry water levels dates. Areas-ΔWL relationship model was established as a polynomial function: A = f(ΔWL), and therefore, the relationship of the water volume above the lowest water level for the study time (ΔV) and ΔWL was obtained through the analytical integration of (Area-ΔWL) model. Another approach (Heron method) was also applied for estimating water volume variations. Validation of these two approaches showed that estimated water volume variations above reference water level using both methods i.e. integration and Heron agreed well with in-situ measurements of volume variation deduced from recent bathymetry map and in-situ water levels (R2 for both methods = 0.98). The RMSE for integration method is 323.89 MCM and for Heron method was 318.09 MCM, being approximately 13.2% of the mean volume variations above the lowest reference water level for mean surface area ≈

Rice straw(RS)collected from Egyptian agricultural environment(Al-Masied village-Alsharqia Governorate-Egypt)was used as substrate for three fungal isolates namely:4b,1Asp,Pleurotus ostreatus NRRL 3501 and mixed culture of(4b,1Asp).Isolates number 4b and 1Asp were identified using the molecular technique(18S rRNA).Isolate 4b and 1Asp,were identified as Trichoderma saturnisporum MN1-EGY and Aspergillus niger MN2-EGY,*** saturnisporum MN1-EGY extract exhibited the highest antimicrobial activity compared to the other fungal *** phenolic,antimicrobial and antioxidant activities were also determined from the ethyl acetate extract of rice straw inoculated by these *** antioxidant scavenging concentration(SC50)values of the tested samples were 88.84,91.45,94.65 and 100.0μg/ml,respectively for Pleurotus sp.,Aspergiluus niger,Aspergiluus niger+Trichoderma sp.,and Trichoderma sp.,after 15 days incubation,compared to ascorbic acid as positive control with SC50 value equal to 8.0μg/*** phenolic contents(TPCs)were maximum in Pleurotus *** and found to be the most polyphenolic enriched sample(380.64 mg GAE/g dry extract)compared to extracts of Aspergiluusniger,Aspergiluus niger+Trichoderma sp.,and Trichoderma sp.(261.89,198.52,and 119.80 mg GAE/g dry extract),*** GC-MS analysis has been also performed for the promising extracts.

This study aimed to assess the impact of the nile flood with special reference to turbidity on the food chain in Lake Nasser water as one of the largest man-made lakes in Africa before the flood (BF) and after the flood (AF) seasons. To achieve that aim, subsurface water samples were collected from 11 sampling stations along the lake before and after the flood for analyzing the water turbidity, total suspended solids, and total phosphorus, as well as chlorophyll-a and zooplankton to represent the food chain in the lake. Results showed an increase in water turbidity after the flood than that before the flood. Total suspended solids concentration displayed a similar trend as water turbidity. Chlorophyll-a concentration increased in AF all over the lake except at the entrance of the lake, as compared to the BF season. Zooplankton count was represented by copepods, cladocerans, and rotifers with the dominance of copepods in AF and rotifers in BF. The density of zooplankton was higher in the AF than the BF season. The negative impact of flood turbidity had appeared on crustacean organisms.

Using System Dynamics for Simulating Subsurface Drainage Systems in Clay Soils

The system dynamics technique is used as a decision tool for engineering problems. It is one of the object oriented approaches that study and manage complex feedback systems. In this paper, the system dynamics technique was used to simulate the performance of a drainage system under wheat crop in a clay soil. The model was calibrated and validated using observed experimental field data (drainage discharge and water table level) collected from Mashtul Pilot Area (MPA), Egypt. The results indicated that, the model is capable to predict hydrological parameters such as water table fluctuation, drainage discharge, upward flux, evapotranspiration, deep percolation, infiltration, runoff, soil moister content and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity on the basis of variation of soil moister content. The trends of the parameters found to be legible. Six statistical indexes were calculated to determine the agreement between the observed and simulated values of water table and drainage discharge. Results indicated that the system dynamics technique can be considered as a good decision tool to predict the subsurface drainage water precisely.

Partial Rootzone Drying (PRD) is an irrigation technique which offers a means of modifying the growth and development of crops through relatively simple changes to the method of water delivery. The technique causes the stimulation of physiological responses which are normally associated with water stress and this results in a significant reduction in water use through the production of chemical signals in drying roots. Partial drying of one half of the roots of plants grown with two root systems is rapidly translated into a reduction in transpiration and assimilation of all the crop leaves. The aim of this research is to examine and simulate the novel irrigation method (PRD), which would stimulate the endogenous stress response mechanisms of Conocarpus erectus trees in the pilot area of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain and wheat and maize crops in the Mashtul Pilot Area (MPA), Egypt using Saltmed model so that vigor is reduced and the efficiency of water use is enhanced. This is to be achieved by the manipulation of the hydration status of parts of a crop’s roots that could be used to control vegetative vigor without detrimental effects on canopy water relations. The PRD technique is researched for wheat as a winter crop and maize as a summer crop in Egypt. The technique causes the stimulation of physiological responses which are normally associated with water stress and this results in a significant reduction in water use through the production of chemical signals in drying roots. The results confirmed an increase in irrigation water use efficiency using PRD comparing with conventional flood irrigation. The research highly recommends applying the PRD method in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and in new reclaimed areas in Egypt to save water and improve crop quality.

Availability of reliable knowledge on future climate change impacts, vulnerability, and adaptation are considered key elements to improving adaptive capacities and developing proper adaptation actions. The nile Delta vulnerability to Sea Level Rise (SLR) has been the subject of a relatively significant number of studies in Egypt. The research question that this paper intends to address is “to what extent have the produced scientific knowledge supported climate change adaptation policy making, concerning inundation by SLR in the nile Delta”. To address this question, the paper begins with a review of the literature on policy-research interaction, based on which a framework of policy-research interactions is developed. This is followed by examining generated knowledge from research and the role of such knowledge on adaptation strategy development in Egypt. It was found that the research cycle has provided ample knowledge on the nile Delta vulnerability to inundation by SLR. Additionally, the bulk of this research work and produced knowledge have been the main source of information for climate change adaptation policymaking. The interaction between research and policymaking interest in the climate change adaptation arena in Egypt confronted several challenges that may have reduced impacts of research on policymaking. These challenges included low interest in the far future, uncertain sea level rise impacts among policymakers and the uncoordinated research and varied estimates of sea level rise impacts provided by the research cycle. Moreover, the lack of proper and effective communication channels between the two cycles may have further hindered possible interaction.
