Background: In nigeria, adolescents and young people (AYP) aged 10 - 24, comprise 22.3% of the population and with HIV prevalence of 3.5%. The AYP living with HIV enrolled at the 68 NARHY, Lagos reflects the national challenges with poor viral suppression. The OTZ program aligns with the UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals. It seeks to empower AYPLHIV to be in charge of their treatment and commit to triple zero outcomeszero missed appointments, zero missed drugs, and zero viral loads. The purpose of the study was to assess the impact of the OTZ program on viral load suppression among members of the adolescent club in 68 NARHY, Lagos. Method: A cross-sectional retrospective study to evaluate the impact of the OTZ program on the viral load of 53 AYP enrolled in the OTZ program between March 2019 to December 2019 was analyzed. The Percentage of viral load suppression before enrollment compared with 6 and 12 months after enrollment into the OTZ program. The AYP is grouped into 10 - 14, 15 - 19, and 20 - 24 years. Activities conducted were peer driven monthly meetings with the AYP during which the adolescents interacted on issues relating to improving their treatment outcomes, healthcare workers reviewed their clinical status, viral load result, provider peer counseling, and caregivers engagement to support adherence to medication and ARV refills. Results: Before OTZ, 81% aged 10 - 14 years, 75% aged 15 - 19 years, and 25% aged 20 - 24 years were virally suppressed (VL less than 1000 copies/ml). Six months after enrollment, 94% were virally suppressed95% aged 10 - 14 years, 96% aged 15 - 19 years, and 66% aged 20-24 years. Twelve months after enrollment, 96% of AYP were virally suppressed100% aged 10-14 years, 93% aged 15 - 19 years, and 100% aged 20 - 24 years. Males viral load (VL) suppression improved from 79% to 96% and 92%, while females VL suppression improved from 69% to 93% and 100% at 6 and 12 months respectively. Are liquefied natural gas (lng) projects currently viable? lng projects viability has been shown to be sensitive to crude oil price. Crude oil prices fell below the 2009-2014 five-year average in early September 2014. The drastic fall in price was from a monthly peak of $112 per barrel (bbl) in June 2014, falling to $62/bbl in December. Since 2016 the oil and gas market has gone through a period of rebalancing, resulting in modest recovery in prices. Oil price recovery reached a peak of $85/bbl in October 2018. Gas prices have also achieved similar modest price recovery. The industry has now entered what appears to be an expansion phase: The five largest international oil companies exceeded expectations for 2018. A window of opportunity may exist for new lng projects to commence production in anticipation of an undersupplied market (2025-2035). Viability of new lng projects will depend on future oil price. lng projects can provide long and stable dividends for shareholder companies, certain risks found in tight oil and upstream projects are absent.

This paper introduces a prototype multiphase flow metering system, named "Uletech", for multiphase flow measurement. The "Uletech" Multiphase Flow Meter (UMFM) is based on the combination of particle recognition and the use of Laser Imaging Technology in the form of Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV). PIV uses tracer particles which follow the gas or liquid phase. The high resolution digital laser cameras identify/recognize all the different sizes of particle (gas, oil and water) in a multiphase flow. The cameras have sufficiently high resolutions (pixel size) to "see" the tracer particles. The prevailing conditions of high pressure and temperature of the flow regimes makes actual measurement a great challenge. The velocity differences between phases (hold up and slip) means unless the velocities of individual phases and concentrations are known, the true flow rate is practically impossible to obtain. The system comprised of two cameras, laser source, optical arrangement, computer data acquisition system, synchronizer and MATLAB based software. An algorithm that correlates the camera’s view to the volume within the pipe has been developed through this research. The computer acquires image signals from the upstream and/or downstream cameras, and carries out the calculation of cross correlation between the two image frames so that the velocity of each pixel can be found. A Gas Liquid Chromatograph (GLC) provides the composition (concentration) of the gas and the liquid hydrocarbon (HC). The product of phase velocity and phase concentration provides the flow rate of the individual phase. This work provides theoretical analysis and experimental validations, and discusses the advantages of the system and its further development.

The study aims at investigating chemical speciation,bioavailability and risk assessment of some selected metals in soils around refined petroleum depot using the concentrations of the metals as variables to ascertain the impacts of the activities within the petroleum ***-soils(0e15 cm)were collected from within the premises of Pipelines and Product Marketing Company,Ibadan,nigeria,while control samples were collected at 200 m away from the study *** conductivity and pH were measured using a calibrated dual purpose meter,while elemental analysis was done using Atomic absorption spectroscopy analytical *** results showed that the soils exhibited low ecological risk;minor enrichment for Mn,moderately severe enrichment for Ni and Co,severe enrichment for Cr and extremely severe enrichment for Pb,Zn and *** was low contamination factor for Pb,Ni,Mn,Cr,Co,and Fe and moderate contamination by Zn and ***-accumulation index results indicated unpolluted with Ni,Mn,Cr,Co,and Fe,unpolluted to moderately polluted with Pb and Zn and moderately to strongly polluted with ***-element clustering results indicated chemical affinity and/or similar genetic origin among the *** analysis suggested that Fe,Co,Cr,Cd,and Ni occurred in the residual fraction;Pb,and Zn in the carbonate fraction,while Mn have its highest percentage in the Fe eMn oxides *** mobility and bioavailability showed that most of the metals are immobile and *** concluded that the oil-impacted soils were contaminated with most of the metals,but with low ecological risk.

An integrated interpretation of processed 3D seismic data,a suite of well logs,biostratigraphic data and core photographs of AMO Field,deep offshore Niger Delta,is carried out for the sequence stratigraphic analysis of strata penetrated by *** and key stratigraphic surfaces,that is,the maximum flooding surfaces(MFSs)and sequence boundaries(SBs),are identified based on bioevents and log *** data help the delineation of MFSs and SBs,as well as dating,determination of depositional environment and *** sequence stratigraphic study reveals seven MFSs(of 13.0 Ma,11.0 Ma,9.5 Ma,7.4 Ma,5.8 Ma,5.0 Ma and 2.7 Ma)and six SBs(of 12.1 Ma,10.3 Ma,8.5 Ma,6.3 Ma,5.5 Ma and 4.2 Ma).The key stratigraphic surfaces identified involve three depositional sequences characterized by lowstand,transgressive and highstand system tracts *** studied section is deposited in a deepwater environment ranging from Lower to Upper Bathyal and can be dated back to the Middle Miocene-Middle Pliocene in *** faults and two horizons(corresponding to reservoir units)are identified and mapped across the seismic data volume to establish a continuity of the reservoir to areas lacking well *** established sequence stratigraphic framework displays successions of sediments(system tracts)where the reservoir sand units of the lowstand and highstand system tracts are of hydrocarbon prospective units in the field.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro and in vivo inhibitory effects of two commonly used herbs, Aframomum melengueta(A. melengueta) and Dennettia tripetala(D. tripetala) on CYP 3A enzymes. Methods: In vitro inhibition of the enzymes were assessed with microsomes extracted from female albino rats using erythromycin-N-demethylation assay(EMND) method while their in vivo effects were measured by estimating simvastatin plasma concentrations in rats. Pharmacokinetic parameters were determined using non-compartmental anaysis as implemented in Win Nonlin pharmacokinetic program. Results: EMND assay with intestinal microsomes indicated that aqueous extracts of D. tripetala and A. melengueta significantly(P < 0.05) inhibited intestinal CYP 3A activity at both 50 μg and 100 μg concentrations. Petroleum ether extract of D. tripetala and ethanol extracts of A. melengueta inhibited intestinal CYP3 A activity at 100 μg but not at 50 μg concentrations. All the extracts showed an in vitrodose dependent CYP 3A inhibition with liver microsomes. In vivo analysis showed that pretreatment with the extracts enhanced systemic absorption of simvastatin with reductions in metabolizing enzymes activity as indicated in significant increases in maximal concentration, area under curve, area under moment curve and mean resident time of simvastatin(P < 0.05). Conclusions: Herbal preparations containing these plants' extracts should be used with caution especially in patients on CYP450 3A substrate medications.
