The visualization of drugs in living systems has become key techniques in modern *** advancements in optical imaging technologies and molecular design strategies have revolutionized drug *** the subcellular level,super-resolution microscopy has allowed exploration of the molecular landscape within individual cells and the cellular response to *** beyond subcellular imaging,researchers have integrated multiple modes,like optical near-infrared II imaging,to study the complex spatiotemporal interactions between drugs and their *** combining these visualization approaches,researchers gain supplementary information on physiological parameters,metabolic activity,and tissue composition,leading to a comprehensive understanding of drug *** review focuses on cutting-edge technologies in drug visualization,particularly fluorescence imaging,and the main types of fluorescent molecules ***,we discuss current challenges and prospects in targeted drug research,emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation in advancing drug *** the integration of advanced imaging technology and molecular design,drug visualization has the potential to redefine our understanding of pharmacology,enabling the analysis of drug micro-dynamics in subcellular environments from new perspectives and deepening pharmacological research to the levels of the cell and organelles.

Herein,incremental capacity-differential voltage (IC-DV) at a high C-rate (HC) is used as a non-invasive diagnostic tool in lithium-ion batteries,which inevitably exhibit capacity fading caused by multiple mechanisms during charge/discharge *** battery degradation modes are complex,the simple output of capacity fading does not yield any useful data in that *** IC and DV curves obtained under restricted conditions (diagnostic approach without intricate,complex calculations is critical in on-board ***,Li Ni_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2)(NMC532)/graphite pouch cells were cycled at 4 and 6C and the degradation characteristics,i.e.,loss of active materials (LAM) and loss of lithium inventory (LLI),were parameterized using the IC-DV *** the incremental current cycling,the initial steep LAM and LLI slopes underwent gradual transitions to gentle states and revealed the gap between low-and high-current measurements.A quantitative comparison of LAM at high and low C-rate showed that a IC;revealed the relative amount of available reaction region limited by cell ***,this did not provide a direct relationship for estimating the LAM at a low ***,the limiting LLI,which is calculated at a C-rate approaching 0,was obtained by extrapolating the LLI through more than two points measured at high C-rate,and therefore,the LLI at 0.1C was accurately determined using rapid cycling.

Threefold Increase in the Number of Drug Resistant TB Cases after Introduction of Universal Drug Susceptibility Testing: Experiences from Two South India Districts

Background: In India, tuberculosis (TB) is a major public health problem, and the advent of drug resistance TB (DR-TB) has worsened the situation. The Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) has introduced universal drug susceptibility testing (UDST) for all diagnosed TB cases in 2018. We conducted this study to know the advantage of implementing UDST when compared to selective testing existent in 2017 on key diagnostic cascade parameters and to identify the challenges in the implementation of UDST. Methods: The study was conducted in two districts of Karnataka, India during January 2017-December 2018. The quantitative part consisted of before-and-after design and the qualitative part consisted of descriptive design. Results: In 2017 (during selective testing/“before” period) out of the 2440 TB patients, 80 (3%) were diagnosed with Isoniazid and Rifampicin resistance patients;in contrast in 2018 (during UDST/“after” period) of the 5129 TB patients 258 (5%) were diagnosed with Isoniazid and Rifampicin resistance. However, the proportion of eligible patients tested for rifampicin resistance during the “after” period was 60% when compared to 100% during the “before” period and median turnaround time for testing was also longer during the “after” period when compared to the “before” period (32.5 days vs 27.5 days). Major reasons for these two gaps were found to be difficulties in collecting sputum specimens and transportation. Conclusion: The rollout of UDST has led to a three-fold increase in a number of DR-TB cases detected in the region. There is a need for the programme to increase the proportion tested for DST by increasing the laboratory capacity and address the challenges in sputum collection and transportation.

To reduce the burden on radiologists and improve the accuracy of disease diagnosis, generating radiology reports automatically aims to automate the generation of accurate and seamless diagnostic reports from radiology images. However, the field still faces several challenges. Firstly, medical images are very similar, and fine-grained visual differences and data bias in the dataset can result in disease details being neglected. In addition, medical reports require a detailed and fluent representation of long paragraphs rather than a single short-sentence description. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a cross-modal network based on text-knowledge mining for radiology report generation. The model uses a Cross-modal Memory Network to facilitate image-text interaction. Then, we cluster ground truth reports and use the clustering results as a second label to learn fine-grained visual details related to the text. In addition, medical guiding vocabulary is introduced to improve the images' encoding capabilities to mitigate data bias. Our proposed method performs well on the benchmark dataset IU X-Ray,outperforming many state-of-the-art models. Furthermore, we provide ablation experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed components.

United States-based practice patterns and resource utilization in advanced neuroendocrine tumor treatment

AIM: To assess advanced neuroendocrine tumor (NET) treatment patterns and resource utilization by tumor progression stage and tumor site in the United States. METHODS: United States Physicians meeting eligibility criteria were provided with online data extraction forms to collect patient chart data on recent NET patients. Resource utilization and treatment pattern data were collected over a baseline period (after diagnosis and before tumor progression), as well as initial and secondary progression periods, with progression defined according to measureable radiographic evidence of tumor progression. Resource categories used in the analysis include: Treatments (e.g. , surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapies), hospitalizations and physician visits, diagnostic tests (biomarkers, imaging, laboratory tests). Comparisons between categories of resource utilization and tumor progression status were examined using univariate (by tumor site) and multivariate analyses (across all tumor sites). RESULTS: Fifty-five physicians were included in the study and completed online data extraction forms using the charts of 110 patients. The physician sample showed a relatively even distribution for those affiliated with academic versus community hospitals (46% vs 55%). Forty (36.3%) patients were reported to have pancreatic NET (pNET), while 70 (63.6%) patients had gastrointestinal tract (GI)/Lung as the primary NET site. Univariate analysis showed the proportion of patients hospitalized increased from 32.7% during baseline to 42.1% in the progression stages. While surgeries were performed at similar proportions overall at baseline and progression, pNET patients, were more likely than GI/Lung NET patients to have undergone surgery during the baseline (33.3% vs 25.0%) and any progression periods (26.7% vs 23.4%). AIM:To examine the possible association between gastrointestinal symptoms and anxiety and depression in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).METHODS:The study was a matched case-control study based on a face to face interview with designed diagnostic screening questionnaires for gastrointestinal(GI) symptoms and T2DM,Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9) for depression and General Anxiety Disorders(GAD-7) for *** questionnaire consisted of questions about symptoms and signs of anxiety and depression ***,socio-demographic characteristics,life style habits and the family history of patients were *** was carried out from June 2010 to May 2011 among Qatari and other Arab nationals over 20 years of age at Primary Health Care Centers of the Supreme Council of Health,Qatar,including patients with diabetes mellitus and healthy subjects over 20 years of ***:In the studied sample,most of the studied T2DM patients with GI symptoms(39.3%) and healthy subjects(33.3%) were in the age group 45-54 years(P < 0.001).The prevalence of severe depression(9.5% vs 4.4%,P < 0.001) and anxiety(26.3% vs 13.7%,P < 0.001) was significantly higher in T2DM patients with GI symptoms than in general ***(35.7% vs 31.2%) and being overweight(47.9% vs 42.8%) were significantly higher in T2DM patients with GI symptoms than in healthy subjects(P = 0.001).Mental health severity score was higher in T2DM patients with GI symptoms than in healthy subjects;depression(8.2 ± 3.7 vs 6.0 ± 3.6) and anxiety(7.6 ± 3.3 vs 6.0 ± 3.7).The most significant GI symptom which was considerably different from controls was early satiety [odds ratio(OR) = 10.8,P = 0.009] in depressed T2DM patients and loose/watery stools(OR = 2.79,P = 0.029) for severe *** was observed more than depression in T2DM patients with GI ***:Gastrointestinal symptoms were significantly associated with depression and anxiety in T2DM patients,especially anxiety disorders.
