Tremendous advances in artificial intelligence(AI)in medical image analysis have been achieved in recent *** integration of AI is expected to cause a revolution in various areas of medicine,including gastrointestinal(GI)***,deep learning algorithms have shown promising benefits in areas of diagnostic histopathology,such as tumor identification,classification,prognosis prediction,and biomarker/genetic alteration *** AI cannot substitute pathologists,carefully constructed AI applications may increase workforce productivity and diagnostic accuracy in pathology *** of these promising advances,unlike the areas of radiology or cardiology imaging,no histopathology-based AI application has been approved by a regulatory authority or for public ***,implying that there are still some obstacles to be overcome before AI applications can be safely and effectively implemented in real-life pathology *** challenges have been identified at different stages of the development process,such as needs identification,data curation,model development,validation,regulation,modification of daily workflow,and cost-effectiveness *** aim of this review is to present challenges in the process of AI development,validation,and regulation that should be overcome for its implementation in real-life GI pathology practice.

Fault diagnosis of rolling mills, especially the main drive gearbox, is of great importance to the high quality products and long-term safe operation. However, the useful fault information is usually submerged in heavy background noise under the severe condition. Thereby, a novel method based on multiwavelet sliding window neighboring coefficient denoising and optimal blind deconvolution is proposed for gearbox fault diagnosis in rolling mills. The emerging multiwavelets can seize the important signal processing properties simultaneously. Owing to the multiple scaling and wavelet basis functions, they have the supreme possibility of matching various features. Due to the periodicity of gearbox signals, sliding window is recommended to conduct local threshold denoising, so as to avoid the "overkill" of conventional universal thresholding techniques. Meanwhile, neighboring coefficient denoising, considering the correlation of the coefficients, is introduced to effectively process the noisy signals in every sliding window. Thus, multiwavelet sliding window neighboring coefficient denoising not only can perform excellent fault extraction, but also accords with the essence of gearbox fault features. On the other hand, optimal blind deconvolution is carried out to highlight the denoised features for operators' easy identification. The filter length is vital for the effective and meaningful results. Hence, the foremost filter length selection based on the kurtosis is discussed in order to full benefits of this technique. The new method is applied to two gearbox fault diagnostic cases of hot strip finishing mills, compared with multiwavelet and scalar wavelet methods with/without optimal blind deconvolution. The results show that it could enhance the ability of fault detection for the main drive gearboxes.

The Rocky Mountain Foothills lie along the eastern margin of the Rocky Mountain fold-thrust belt. The area has been the focus of extensive research aimed at locating oil and gas fields with the potential to be used as CO2 storage traps. In this study, we use a seismic line from the Ca- nadian Rockies to interpret the geologic structures along a cross-section parallel to the tectonic transport direction. We then compare our results with those of previous studies. The section was restored using the MOVE software （manufactured by Midland Valley Exploration Ltd.）. The pri- mary objectives of this work are：（1） to conduct a stratigraphic and structural interpretation of a 2D seismic profile; and （2） to conduct a cross-sectional restoration of the structures in order to validate the seismic interpretation in terms of CO2 storage candidates. Additional data sources include maps of the surface geology, which show that the age of horizons decrease from west to east, and strati- graphic and structural profiles derived from well logs. The results of our structural restoration indi- cate a detachment fault between the foreland and hinterland. This fault is responsible for the cutting and subsequent upwards and eastwards movement of a stratum located between the basement and the Late Devonian formation. Large thrust faults are responsible for the deformation of strata （through both folding and faulting） in the foreland basin. As a result of continuous eastward tectonic stress, the strata from Jurassic have deformed, forming a duplex system in the middle of the section and resulting in the uplift of the upper part of the section. Following surface erosion, this uplifted area became exposed during the Tertiary Period. The high shortening rate （53%） detected through structural restoration is consistent with the thin-skinned tectonic model.

BACKGROUND Digital pathology image(DPI)analysis has been developed by machine learning(ML)***,little attention has been paid to the reproducibility of ML-based histological classification in heterochronously obtained DPIs of the same hematoxylin and eosin(HE)*** To elucidate the frequency and preventable causes of discordant classification results of DPI analysis using ML for the heterochronously obtained *** We created paired DPIs by scanning 298 HE stained slides containing 584 tissues twice with a virtual slide *** paired DPIs were analyzed by our MLaided classification *** defined non-flipped and flipped groups as the paired DPIs with concordant and discordant classification results,*** compared differences in color and blur between the non-flipped and flipped groups by L1-norm and a blur index,*** We observed discordant classification results in 23.1%of the paired DPIs obtained by two independent scans of the same microscope *** detected no significant difference in the L1-norm of each color channel between the two groups;however,the flipped group showed a significantly higher blur index than the non-flipped *** Our results suggest that differences in the blur-not the color-of the paired DPIs may cause discordant classification *** ML-aided classification model for DPI should be tested for this potential cause of the reduced reproducibility of the *** a future study,a slide scanner and/or a preprocessing method of minimizing DPI blur should be developed.

AIM: To assess the diagnostic accuracy,of aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index(APRI) alone and with antischistosomal antibody(Ab) in patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV) and schistosomiasis coinfection. METHODS: This retrospective study included medical records of three hundred and eighty three Egyptianmen patients who had undergone percutaneous liver biopsy between January 2006 to April 2014 in tertiary care hospital in Qatar for diagnosis or monitoring purpose were selected. Data of patients > 18 years of age were included in the study. The values of HCV RNA titer and antischistosomal antibody titer were also taken into consideration. Patients were excluded from the study if they had any other concomitant chronic liver disease,including; history of previous antiviral or interferon therapy,immunosuppressive,therapy,chronic hepatitis B infection,human immunodeficiency virus co-infection,autoimmune hepatitis,decompensated liver disease,hepatocellular carcinoma,prior liver transplantation,and if no data about the liver biopsy present. RESULTS: Median age of patients was 46 years. About 7.1% had no fibrosis,whereas 30.4%,37.5%,20.4%,and 4.6% had fibrosis of stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ respectively. In bivariate analysis,APRI score,levels of AST,platelet count and age of patient showed statistically significant association with liver fibrosis(P < 0.0001); whereas antischistosomal antibody titer(P = 0.52) and HCV RNA titer(P = 0.79) failed to show a significant association. The respective AUC values for no fibrosis,significant fibrosis,severe fibrosis and cirrhosis of APRI score were 63%,73.2%,81.1% and 88.9% respectively. This showed good sensitivity and specificity of APRI alone for grading of liver fibrosis. But the inclusion of anti-Schistosoma antibody did not improve the prediction of fibrosis stage. CONCLUSION: The study results suggest that noninvasive biochemical markers like APRI are sensitive and specific in diagnosing the degree of fibrosis and cirrhosis in patient

On-board Diagnosis（OBD） system is the key part of national emission standard,and gasoline engine oxygen sensor deactivation diagnosis is one of the most important OBD *** this study,we,according to the principles of Planar-type oxygen sensor,develop the main fault types of oxygen sensor deactivation,which consist of electrical fault and rational *** analyze the diagnostic strategy of the both faults,generate the strategy model by Simulink,and offer the diagnosis flow *** last,we use the sensor deactivation simulators to simulate the ***-in-the-loop（HIL） bench and chassis dynamometer tests,the results show that the diagnostic strategy of oxygen sensors is rapid and precise,and it meets the requirements of national standard.
