BACKGROUND Stroke frequently results in oropharyngeal dysfunction(OD),leading to difficulties in swallowing and eating,as well as triggering negative emotions,malnutrition,and aspiration pneumonia,which can be detrimental to ***,routine nursing interventions often fail to address these issues *** and psychological interventions can improve dysphagia symptoms,relieve negative emotions,and improve quality of ***,there are few clinical reports of systemic interventions combined with psychological interventions for stroke patients with *** To explore the effects of combining systemic and psychological interventions in stroke patients with *** This retrospective study included 90 stroke patients with OD,admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Qiqihar Medical College(January 2022–December 2023),who were divided into two groups:regular and *** function grading(using a water swallow test),swallowing function[using the standardized swallowing assessment(SSA)],negative emotions[using the selfrating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)],and quality of life(SWAL-QOL)were compared between groups before and after the intervention;aspiration pneumonia incidence was *** Post-intervention,the coalition group had a greater number of patients with grade 1 swallowing function compared to the regular group,while the number of patients with grade 5 swallowing function was lower than that in the regular group(P<0.05).Post-intervention,the SSA,SAS,and SDS scores of both groups decreased,with a more significant decrease observed in the coalition group(P<0.05).Additionally,the total SWAL-QOL score in both groups increased,with a more significant increase observed in the coalition group(P<0.05).During the intervention period,the total incidence of aspiration and aspiration pneumonia in the coalition group was lower than that in the control group(4.44%vs 20.00%;P<0.05).CONCLUSION Systemic int

Electroencephalography is a sensitive indicator for measuring brain condition, and can reflect early changes in brain function and severity of cerebral ischemia. However, it is not yet known whether electroencephalography can predict development of post-cerebral infarc- tion depression. A total of 321 patients with ischemic stroke underwent electroencephalography and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale assessment to analyze the relationship between electroencephalography and post-cerebral infarction depression. Our results show that electroencephalograms of ischemic stroke patients with depression exhibit low-amplitude alpha activity and slow theta activity. In con- trast, electroencephalograms of ischemic stroke patients without depression show fast beta activity and slow delta activity. ＂Ihese findings confirm that low-amplitude alpha activity and slow theta activity can be considered as independent predictors for post-cerebral infarction depression.

Objective To investigate the clinical application value of Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment （LOTCA） battery in Chinese patients with post-stroke aphasia. Methods Cognitive fimctions of 59 Chinese patients with aphasia following a stroke were assessed with the Chinese version of the second edition of LOTCA battery and their linguistic functions were tested with the Western Aphasia Battery （WAB） Scale, respectively. The results of LOTCA were analyzed and compared across different groups, in the light of gender, age, educational background, the length of illness, and the degree of aphasia.

Neurons migrate from their birthplaces to the destinations,and extending axons navigate to their synaptic targets by sensing various extracellular cues in spatiotemporally controlled *** evolutionally conserved guidance cues and their receptors regulate multiple aspects of neural development to establish the highly complex nervous system by mediating both short-and long-range cell-cell *** guidance genes(encoding cues,receptors,or downstream signal transducers)are critical not only for development of the nervous system but also for synaptic maintenance,remodeling,and function in the adult *** emerging theme is the combinatorial and complementary functions of relatively limited classes of neuronal guidance genes in multiple processes,including neuronal migration,axonal guidance,synaptogenesis,and circuit ***,neuronal guidance genes also regulate cell migration and cell-cell communications outside the nervous *** are just beginning to understand how cells integrate multiple guidance and adhesion signaling inputs to determine overall cellular/subcellular behavior and how aberrant guidance signaling in various cell types contributes to diverse human diseases,ranging from developmental,neuropsychiatric,and neurodegenerative disorders to cancer *** review classic studies and recent advances in understanding signaling mechanisms of the guidance genes as well as their roles in human ***,we discuss the remaining chalienges and therapeutic potentials of modulating neuronal guidance pathways in neural repair.

Background:To compare clinical features in young(18-44 years)and older patients(>44 years)with optic neuritis(ON).Methods:This is a retrospective case series *** hundred thirty-three young cases and 51 older cases diagnosed with ON were ***:The older patients had lower proportion of disc swelling(37.3%vs.57.1%,P=0.016),but higher proportion of brain plaques(21.6%vs.7.5%,P=0.007)compared with the young *** proportion of patients suffered from hypertension or hyperglycemia was nearly 6 times higher in the older patients than in the young patients(29.4%vs.5.3%,P44 years).Physicians should pay attention to the side effects of corticosteroids in elderly patients in clinical practice,although they are generally safe.

The red blood cell distribution width(RDW)is a measure of red blood cell(RBC)size heterogeneity,which is easily calculated by dividing the SD of erythrocyte volumes for the mean corpuscular *** reporter suggested that,besides haematological diseases and anaemia,many human disorders may be closely associated with the elevated RDW.A literature review has revealed the RDW may be closely related to the development of ischaemic stroke,carotid artery atherosclerosis and cerebral *** RDW could independently predict adverse outcomes in patients in these conditions.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Urinary Kallidinogenase for Injection in the treatment of acute cerebral ***:PubMed,The Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,VIP,Wan Fang and bibliographic database of Chinese medicine were searched by computer to collect randomized controlled trials of Urinary Kallidinogenase's treatment of acute cerebral *** time limit was set up until September *** the same time,the references and grey literature in the literature were manually *** independent researchers were screened,evaluated and extracted according to inclusion and exclusion ***-analysis was carried out by RevMan 5.3 ***:A total of 17 randomized controlled trials involving 2,066 patients,including 1,033 in the experimental group,and 1,033 in the control ***-analysis results showed that compared with the conventional treatment,Urinary Kallidinogenase had better effect in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction[OR=3.26,95%CI(2.56,4.16),P33,95%CI(6.64,36.01),P=0.004];a total of 7 articles reported adverse reactions,including 19 cases in the trial group and 21 cases in the control group,the main adverse reactions were blood pressure drop,other symptoms were chest tightness,facial redness,dizziness fever,nausea and vomiting,arrhythmia,and no other serious adverse *** can recover ***:the available evidence shows that Urinary Kallidinogenase can effectively improve the symptoms of neurological deficits and improve the ability of daily living in patients with acute cerebral infarction,and is ***,the quality of the study is limited.
