Constructal design of a rectangular parallel phase change microchannel in a three-dimensional electronic device

Based on constructal theory,a rectangular parallel phase change microchannel model in a three-dimensional electronic device(TDED)is established with R134a as the cooling *** on the minimization of a complex function(CF)composed of linear weighting sum of maximum temperature difference and pumping power consumption,constructal design of the TDED is conducted first;and then,maximum temperature difference and pumping power consumption are minimized by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II *** results reveal that there exist an optimal mass flow rate(0.0012 kg/s)and a quadratic optimal aspect ratio(AR)(0.39)of the microchannel which lead to quadratic minimum CF(0.817).Compared with the original value,the CF after optimization is reduced by 18.34%.Reducing the inlet temperature of cooling fluid and microchannel number appropriately can help to enhance the overall performance of *** using the artificial neural network and genetic algorithms in the toolboxes of Matlab software,the optimal AR gained in the Pareto solution set is located between 0.2–*** smallest deviation index among three discussed strategies is 0.346,and the corresponding optimal AR is 0.413,which is selected as the optimal design strategy of the microchannel in the TDED under multiple *** findings in this study can serve as theoretical guides for thermal designs of electronic devices.

Constructal design of printed circuit recuperator for S-CO_(2)cycle via multi-objective optimization algorithm

Based on a constructal theory,the structure design of a printed circuit recuperator with a semicircular heat transfer channel for supercritical CO_(2)cycle is carried ***,a complex function composed of weighted sum of the reciprocal of total heat transfer rate and total pumping power consumption is regarded as an optimization objective,and total volumes of the recuperator and heat transfer channel are regarded as *** optimal heat transfer channel radius and minimum complex function of the recuperator are *** turns out that heat transfer rate,pumping power consumption,and complex function under the optimal construct of recuperator are reduced by 15.10%,82.44%,and 32.33%,*** exists the optimal single plate channel number which results in the double minimum complex ***,for the purpose of minimizing the reciprocal of heat transfer rate and pumping power consumption,NSGA-II algorithm is used to achieve multi-objective optimization,and the minimum deviation index derived by the decision-making methods is 0.076,which can be taken as multi-objective optimal design scheme for printed circuit recuperator with semicircular heat transfer *** findings presented here can serve as theoretical recommendations for the structure design of printed circuit recuperator.

A new two-step spark plasma sintering(TSS)process with low-temperature pre-sintering and high-temperature final sintering has been successfully applied to prepare the tungsten-particle(Wp)-reinforced bulk metallic glass composites(Wp/BMGCs).Compared to normal spark plasma sintering(NS),the densification rate and relative density of Wp/BMGCs can be improved by selecting TSS with appropriate sintering pressure in the low temperature pre-sintering ***,the compressive strength and plastic strain of 30%Wp/BMGCs prepared by TSS are both higher than those of the samples prepared by *** TSS process can significantly enhance the compressive strength of 30%Wp/BMGCs by 12%and remarkably increase the plastic strain by 50%,while the trend is completely opposite for 50%Wp/***-in situ experiments and finite element simulations reveal that uneven temperature distribution among particles during low-temperature pre-sintering causes local overheating at contact points between particles,accelerating formation of sintering neck between particles and plastic deformation of *** the volume fraction of Wp is low,TSS can improve the interface bonding between particles by increasing the number of sintering *** makes the fracture mode of Wp/BMGCs being predominantly transgranular ***,as the volume fraction of Wp increases,the adverse effects of Wp plastic deformation are becoming more and more *** aggregated Wp tends to form a solid"cage structure"that hinders the bonding between particles at the interface;correspondingly,the fracture behavior of Wp/BMGCs is mainly dominated by intergranular ***,reducing the sintering pressure during the low-temperature pre-sintering stage of TSS has been shown to effectively decrease plastic deformation in Wp,resulting in a higher degree of densification and better mechanical properties.

Laser-rewritable room temperature phosphorescence based on in-situ polymerized tartaric acid

Organic room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) materials have potential applications in information technology and bioimaging. However, the precise control of the afterglow in reversible manners remains challenging for organic matters. Here, we report a kind of organic RTP material fabricated by simple heating mixtures of tartaric acid(TA) and aromatic acids, which can switch their phosphorescence by laser. Those mixtures show tunable phosphorescence from indigo to orange with phosphorescence efficiency of up to 53.99% due to locking different organic luminogens by the TA-formed matrix through the noncovalent interactions. The afterglow of those materials lasts a few seconds and disappears by water fumigation, which can be repeated in response to wet/heat stimuli. With drop-casting those materials on glass slides, a laser-repatternable phosphorescence is achieved by facile laser direct writing and quenched by water cyclically. Those results open the opportunity for the design of smart stimuli-responsive phosphorescence materials from sustainable natural products.

Fishing boats have unique features that make them prone to changing loading *** the boat leaves the port,the empty fish tank gradually fills up during fishing operations which may result in parametric roll(PR).This dangerous phenomenon that can lead to *** present study aims to understand better the behaviour of parametric roll in fishing boats and its relation to changing loading *** study considers the effects of displacement and the GM/KM ratio on parametric roll,as well as the longitudinal flare distribution at the *** assessments to detect the parametric roll occurrence in early stage were carried out by using the level 1 assessment of parametric roll based on the Second Generation of Intact Stability criteria(SGIS)from International maritime Organisation(IMO)and the Susceptibility criteria of Parametric roll from the American Bureau of Shipping(ABS).Then,the CFD method is used to predict the amplitude of the parametric roll *** results provide important insights to fishing vessel operators on how to manage loading conditions to maintain stability and avoid hazardous *** following the guidelines outlined in this study,fishing boats can operate more safely and efficiently,reducing the risk of accidents and improving the overall sustainability of the fishing industry.

The comprehension of sediment grain size parameters and the corresponding sedimentary environment holds paramount importance in elucidating the engineering geological attributes of the subaqueous *** study delineated the sedimentary environment zoning in the northern sea area of Qingdao through cluster analysis of grain size parameters derived from 123 surface sediment *** study analyzed the correlation between sediment geotechnical indices and grain size parameters across diverse sedimentary environments.A correlation equation was established for samples exhibiting a strong *** study found four distinct sedimentary environments in the study area:coastal,transitional,shallow sea,and *** the same sedimentary environment,the average grain size and sorting coefficient exhibit significant correlations with geotechnical indices such as water content,density,shear strength,plastic limit,liquid limit,and plastic ***,notable disparities in the correlation between grain size parameters and geotechnical indices emerge across different sedimentary environments.

With the gradual development and modernization of satellite navigation systems,using observation information from multi-GNss has become one of the hot-spot issues in recent ***-system loose combinations form double-difference observation equations within their respective systems,and the positioning effect is ***,the interchangeability and compatible interoperability between global navigation satellite systems(GNSS)cannot be truly *** the same time,when the number of visible satellites decreases abruptly,the positioning performance deteriorates *** paper focuses on the GNsS multi-system tight combination relative positioning technique,gives a mathe-matical model of multi-system tight combination relative positioning considering differential inter-system bias(DISB),and analyzes the time-varying characteristics of DISB at overlapping and non-overlapping frequencies among GPS/Galileo,GPS/BDS,and GPS/QZSS in terms of receiver brand,tem-perature,and receiver *** GNsS tight combination relative positioning performance is verified by static data from Curtin University and dynamic data measured at Taiyuan University of *** results show that compared with loose combination,the ambiguity-fixed rate increases from 62.18%to 97.60%for static data and from 74.97%to 99.53%for dynamic data when the elevation mask angle is 50°,resulting in a significant improvement in positioning performance.

Predicting hepatocellular carcinoma: A new non-invasive model based on shear wave elastography

BACKGROUND Integrating conventional ultrasound features with 2D shear wave elastography(2D-SWE)can potentially enhance preoperative hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)*** To develop a 2D-SWE-based predictive model for preoperative identification of *** A retrospective analysis of 884 patients who underwent liver resection and pathology evaluation from February 2021 to August 2023 was conducted at the Oriental Hepatobiliary Surgery *** patients were divided into the modeling group(n=720)and the control group(n=164).The study included conventional ultrasound,2D-SWE,and preoperative laboratory *** logistic regression was used to identify independent predictive factors for RESULTS In the modeling group analysis,maximal elasticity(Emax)of tumors and their peripheries,platelet count,cirrhosis,and blood flow were independent risk indicators for *** factors yielded an area under the curve of 0.77(95%confidence interval:0.73-0.81)with 84%sensitivity and 61%*** model demonstrated good calibration in both the construction and validation cohorts,as shown by the calibration graph and Hosmer-Lemeshow test(P=0.683 and P=0.658,respectively).Additionally,the mean elasticity(Emean)of the tumor periphery was identified as a risk factor for microvascular invasion(MVI)in malignant liver tumors(P=0.003).Patients receiving antiviral treatment differed significantly in platelet count(P=0.002),Emax of tumors(P=0.033),Emean of tumors(P=0.042),Emax at tumor periphery(P<0.001),and Emean at tumor periphery(P=0.003).CONCLUSION 2D-SWE’s hardness value serves as a valuable marker for enhancing the preoperative diagnosis of malignant liver lesions,correlating significantly with MVI and antiviral treatment efficacy.
