Vector-borne viruses, transmitted among humans and animal hosts through bites of vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks,pose a great and ongoing threat to public health and biosafety(Yang et al., 2022).Among them, dengue virus-induced epidemics, have dramatically increased worldwide in recent decades. The report released by the World Health Organization(WHO) at the end of 2023 showed that dengue epidemic globally surged in2023, with the number of reported cases nearing a historical peak.

Objective Allocation of human resources to address inequalities in the public health system has increasingly attracted societal and political *** the Centers for Disease control and prevention(CDCs)system of China as an example,we evaluated inequality in the public health workforce distribution across different regions in China between 2008 and 2017,with the aim of providing information for policymakers to support resource allocation and address growing health *** We used three standard public health workforce inequality indices-Gini coefficient,Theil L,and Theil T-and spatial autocorrelation analysis to explore spatial clusters of the workforce in different provinces,visualized with geographical *** The aggregate workforce-to-population ratio decreased from 1.47 to 1.42 per 10,000 population from 2008 to 2017,and was consistently lower than the national Health Commission’s(NHC)recommended critical shortage threshold of *** workforce distribution inequality indices varied by regional socioeconomic and health system *** clustering of CDCs workforce distribution was evident,with H–H and L–L clusters in western China and the Guangdong-Fujian region,*** Our study addressed key issues for government and policymakers in allocation of public health human *** is an urgent need for careful identification of analytic questions that will help carry out public health functions in the new era,alongside policy implications for an equitable distribution of the public health workforce focusing on the western region and low–low cluster areas.

Introduction:Detecting poliovirus infections proves to be highly challenging due to their asymptomatic nature and infectious potential,highlighting the crucial importance of effective detection methods in the context of polio eradication *** many countries,including China,the primary approach for identifying polio outbreaks has been through acute flaccid paralysis(AFP)*** this study,we conducted an evaluation spanning three decades(1993–2022)to assess the effectiveness of AFP surveillance in ***:Data on all AFP cases identified since 1993 and national-level AFP surveillance system quality indicators aligned with the World Health Organization(WHO)standards were collected for *** quality indicators assess surveillance sensitivity,completeness,timeliness of detection notification,case investigation,and laboratory *** sensitivity is determined by the non-polio AFP(NPAFP)detection rate among children under 15 years of ***:Between 1993 and 2022,a total of 150,779 AFP cases were identified and *** this pool,surveillance identified 95 cases of wild poliovirus(WPV)and 24 cases due to vaccinederived *** 1995 onwards,the detection rate of NPAFP cases consistently adhered to the WHO and national standards of≥1 case per 100,000,falling between 1.38 and *** in 1997,all timeliness indicators consistently achieved the criteria of 80%,apart from the consistency in meeting standards set for the rate of positive specimens sent to the national ***:AFP surveillance has been instrumental in China’s accomplishment of maintaining a polio-free *** ongoing adherence to key performance indicators,ensuring sensitivity and prompt specimen collection,demonstrates that AFP surveillance is proficient in detecting poliovirus in *** we move into the post-eradication phase,AFP surveillance remains crucial for the sustained absence of polioviruses in the long term.

Introduction:All countries face the potential threat of imported polioviruses,including both wild type and circulating vaccine-derived *** response,we conducted a province-level assessment in China to evaluate the risk of importation and transmission of type 1 wild poliovirus(WPV1)and type 2 vaccine-derived poliovirus(VDPV2).Methods:Distinct risk assessment tools for WPV1 and VDPV2 were employed,incorporating three primary indicators—population immunity,poliovirus surveillance,and importation ***1 was assessed using 13 secondary indicators,whereas VDPV2 utilized 21 secondary *** used comprehensive provincial data from the preceding five ***(S-values)were derived from the secondary indicators’criteria and ratings,and used to classify the provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)into three risk categories:high,medium,and *** top 10%of PLADs were designated as highrisk,with the remaining provinces equally distributed into medium-and low-risk ***:In 2023,Xizang,Qinghai,and Xinjiang PLADs faced the highest risk of WPV1 importation and transmission;Xizang,Shaanxi,and Hainan PLADs were at the greatest risk for VDPV2 importation and ***:Risk assessment for VDPV2 importation and transmission has identified a distinct set of high-risk provinces compared to those identified by WPV1 risk *** and proactive response measures tailored to the specific risks should be implemented to maintain China’s polio-free status.

Leclercia adecarboxylata is a Gram-negative bacterium belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae *** our knowledge,this is the first report of a carbapenem-resistant *** strain isolated from a healthy *** *** strain isolated in this study carried four plasmids that may serve as reservoirs for antibiotic resistance *** 2 and 4 did not harbor any antimicrobial resistance *** 3 is a novel plasmid containing three resistance *** bla IMP gene harbored in the strain was most similar to bla IMP-79 at the nucleotide level,with a similarity of 99.4%(737/741).This case highlights the importance of considering *** as a potential cause of infections in children.
