T cell interactions with microglia in immune-inflammatory processes of ischemic stroke

The primary mechanism of secondary injury after cerebral ischemia may be the brain inflammation that emerges after an ischemic stroke,which promotes neuronal death and inhibits nerve tissue *** the first immune cells to be activated after an ischemic stroke,microglia play an important immunomodulatory role in the progression of the *** an ischemic stroke,peripheral blood immune cells(mainly T cells)are recruited to the central nervous system by chemokines secreted by immune cells in the brain,where they interact with central nervous system cells(mainly microglia)to trigger a secondary neuroimmune *** review summarizes the interactions between T cells and microglia in the immune-inflammatory processes of ischemic *** found that,during ischemic stroke,T cells and microglia demonstrate a more pronounced synergistic ***1,Th17,and M1 microglia can co-secrete proinflammatory factors,such as interferon-γ,tumor necrosis factor-α,and interleukin-1β,to promote neuroinflammation and exacerbate brain ***2,Treg,and M2 microglia jointly secrete anti-inflammatory factors,such as interleukin-4,interleukin-10,and transforming growth factor-β,to inhibit the progression of neuroinflammation,as well as growth factors such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor to promote nerve regeneration and repair brain *** interactions between microglia and T cells influence the direction of the subsequent neuroinflammation,which in turn determines the prognosis of ischemic stroke *** trials have been conducted on the ways to modulate the interactions between T cells and microglia toward anti-inflammatory communication using the immunosuppressant fingolimod or overdosing with Treg cells to promote neural tissue repair and reduce the damage caused by ischemic ***,such studies have been relatively infrequent,and clinical experience is still *** summary,in ischemic stroke,T cell subsets and activated micro

The national Plan for Public library Development during the 12 th Five-Year Plan Period is the first medium and long-term development plan made by the national government authority since the founding of *** government-led plan,consisting of 4 parts in foundations for development,general thinking,major tasks and guarantee measures,has proposed 10 fundamental strategic themes in developing the public library system,including construction of facilities network,construction of the guarantee system in document and information resources,upgrading service capabilities,research and application of new technologies,institutionalization and standardization,building expertise team,preposition of a range of specific quantitative indexes in clarifying the development of public library during the 12 th Five-Year Plan period and even a longer phase in the future.

General review of national Digital library development in the national library of China

As an important part of national Digital library(NDL),the national Digital library Project(NDLP),which was launched in 2005,has attracted wide attention of the society in *** paper introduces the general situation of the project from the following aspects,namely,the characteristics,objectives and *** also expounds on the basic ideas and the overall structure of the project and gives an introduction to the design of its basic platform,its application platform,its business management system and its standardization control *** this paper,the digital resources construction and service delivery of the national library of China(NLC)are introduced to cover both its present operation as well as those in conjunction with the opening of its new library building during its second-phase of library ***,the most important and difficult point in the construction of the national Digital library Project is analyzed from the following four perspectives:1)The long-term preservation of digital resources;2)the construction of knowledge organization system;3)the organic integration of the digital library and the traditional library;and 4)the risk of project management and system integration.

Web search and data mining of natural products and their bioactivities in PubChem

Natural products,as major resources for drug discovery historically,are gaining more attentions recently due to the advancement in genomic sequencing and other technologies,which makes them attractive and amenable to drug candidate *** and mining the bioactivity information of natural products are extremely important for accelerating drug development process by reducing ***,a number of publicly accessible databases have been established to facilitate the access to the chemical biology data for small molecules including natural ***,it is imperative for scientists in related fields to exploit these resources in order to expedite their researches on natural products as drug leads/candidates for disease ***,as a public database,contains large amounts of natural products associated with bioactivity *** this review,we introduce the information system provided at PubChem,and systematically describe the applications for a set of PubChem web services for rapid data retrieval,analysis,and downloading of natural *** hope this work can serve as a starting point for the researchers to perform data mining on natural products using PubChem.

Innovations of subject service in national Science library,Chinese Academy of Sciences and the implications

Looking at the development of subject librarians and subject services in Chinese libraries during the past decade,this paper highlights the innovative concepts and practices of subject librarians in national Science library(NSL),Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS).After a two-year trial period,NSL,CAS,with 39 full-time subject librarians,has begun to provide personalized,subject-specific,and knowledge-based services to the end-users since *** a practice manifests that subject librarians and subject services should be embedded into the research process and working ***,the subject service should be made available to the users beyond the space restriction and time limit,and finally create a congenial environment for *** should develop new expertise to offer the user-oriented service,changing the role from book keepers to research instructors,advisors,even chief information officer(CIO)or chief knowledge officer(CKO).

An introductory discussion about national library of China's development of a Chinese Newspaper Digital Repository mechanism

Newspapers can preserve vast amount of first-hand historical information for *** are reliable and valuable primary sources for studies on politics,economy,society,humanities,science and technology,culture,folkways and customs of a country for a specific period of ***,these authors in this paper support that a Chinese Newspaper Digital Repository(CNDR)initiative led by national library of China(NLC)be firmly established and put into operation in quick *** authors' conviction and assertion are made only after they have given a careful study and analysis of the problems of current newspaper preservation methods,including print newspapers preservation,preserving newspapers by microfilming technology,and digital publication of *** authors also have taken into consideration of the legal issues involved about such an *** on the review of the efforts and achievements on long-term preservation of newspapers home and abroad,these authors have critiqued the technical scheme of the NLC' Chinese Newspaper Digital Repository,including such important factors as system design,metadata schema,system structure,and the achievements of this project in Phase ***,these authors have recommended that a collaborative operation mechanism and also a new comprehensive service paradigm in the realm of information delivery be established in CNDR's overall strategic planning.

SHAPING COURSE. The Development of the Strategy for the e-Depot of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, national library of the Netherlands, in a national and International Context

Operating an international archive for digital information resources by a relatively small organization as the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB) asks for a firm foundation of its policy. Continuing research and development efforts to secure permanent preservation and access to electronic information on a national and international scale require substantial financial, technical and staffing commitments. Cooperation in sharing resources and knowledge is called for. In the national context of the Netherlands the KB recently took the initiative to build the national Digital Preservation Coalition. All relevant sectors of Dutch society are represented. Its aim is to develop a national infrastructure and to assign clear responsibilities. In the European arena the KB, together with the British library, started the European Alliance for Permanent Access to the Records of Science. The Alliance works towards the widespread and joint responsibility for maintaining the records of science by all major stakeholders, including national governments and the EU. In the global context the KB developed the concept of the "Safe Places Network" . This Network will include a limited number of institutions with certified digital archives for scientific publications, sharing responsibility for complete, world-wide coverage and allocate tasks accordingly.

Purpose： This paper is an investigation of the effectiveness of the method of clustering biomedical journals through mining the content similarity of journal articles. Design/methodology/approach： 3,265 journals in Pub Med are analyzed based on article content similarity and Web usage, respectively. Comparisons of the two analysis approaches and a citation-based approach are ***： Our results suggest that article content similarity is useful for clustering biomedical journals, and the content-similarity-based journal clustering method is more robust and less subject to human factors compared with the usage-based approach and the citation-based approach. Research limitations： Our paper currently focuses on clustering journals in the biomedical domain because there are a large volume of freely available resources such as Pub Med and Me SH in this field. Further investigation is needed to improve this approach to fit journals in other *** implications： Our results show that it is feasible to catalog biomedical journals by mining the article content similarity. This work is also significant in serving practical needs in research portfolio ***/value： To the best of our knowledge, we are among the first to report on clustering journals in the biomedical field through mining the article content similarity. This method can be integrated with existing approaches to create a new paradigm for future studies of journal clustering.

Character recognition based on non-linear multi-projection profiles measure

In this paper, we study a method for isolated handwritten or hand-printed character recognition using dynamic programming for matching the non-linear multi- projection profiles that are produced from the Radon transform. The idea is to use dynamic time warping （DTW） algorithm to match corresponding pairs of the Radon features for all possible projections. By using DTW, we can avoid compressing feature matrix into a single vector which may miss information. It can handle character images in different shapes and sizes that are usually happened in natural hand- writing in addition to difficulties such as multi-class similarities, deformations and possible defects. Besides, a comprehensive study is made by taking a major set of state-of- the-art shape descriptors over several character and numeral datasets from different scripts such as Roman, Devanagari, Oriya, Bangla and Japanese-Katakana including symbol. For all scripts, the method shows a generic behaviour by providing optimal recognition rates but, with high computational cost.

Development and Evolution of Papermaking in Ancient China based on the Uses and Forms of Paper

In the past,scholars have divided the history of Chinese papermaking into different stages based on the development of ancient papermaking technology,emphasizing the development and progress of papermaking in different historical periods but paying less attention to the changes in the form of ***,the stages are defined based on changes in use and function rather than technological *** this approach is combined with the history of printing,books,calligraphy,and painting,the history of Chinese papermaking can be divided into the writing paper,writing and printing paper,printing paper,and calligraphy and painting paper *** periods of paper have significant differences in texture,form,and performance owing to their different *** significant difference provides a reference for the identification of ancient papers and reveals the internal connection between the history of printing,books,calligraphy,painting,and papermaking.
