Identifying the dynamic behaviors in complete reconstruction of Co-based complex precatalysts during electrocatalytic oxygen evolution

Transition metal-based nanomaterials have emerged as promising electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction（OER）. Considerable research efforts have shown that self-reconstruction occurs on these nanomaterials under operating conditions of OER process. However, most of them undergo incomplete reconstruction with limited thickness of reconstruction layer, leading to low component utilization and arduous exploration of real catalytic mechanism. Herein, we identify the dynamic behaviors in complete reconstruction of Co-based complexes during OER. The hollow phytic acid（PA） cross-linked CoFe-based complex nanoboxes with porous nanowalls are designed because of their good electrolyte penetration and mass transport ability, in favor of the fast and complete reconstruction. A series of experiment characterizations demonstrate that the reconstruction process includes the fast substitution of PA by OH-to form Co（Fe）(OH)xand subsequent potential-driven oxidation to Co（Fe）OOH. The obtained CoFeOOH delivers a low overpotential of 290 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2and a long-term *** experiment results together with theory calculations reveal that the Fe incorporation can result in the electron rearrangement of reconstructed CoFeOOH and optimization of their electronic structure,accounting for the enhanced OER activity. The work provides new insights into complete reconstruction of metal-based complexes during OER and offers guidelines for rational design of high-performance electrocatalysts.

Detection of gross errors using mixed integer optimization approach in process industry

A novel mixed integer linear programming (NMILP) model for detection of gross errors is presented in this paper. Yamamura et al.(1988) designed a model for detection of gross errors and data reconciliation based on Akaike information cri- terion (AIC). But much computational cost is needed due to its combinational nature. A mixed integer linear programming (MILP) approach was performed to reduce the computational cost and enhance the robustness. But it loses the super performance of maximum likelihood estimation. To reduce the computational cost and have the merit of maximum likelihood estimation, the simultaneous data reconciliation method in an MILP framework is decomposed and replaced by an NMILP subproblem and a quadratic programming (QP) or a least squares estimation (LSE) subproblem. Simulation result of an industrial case shows the high efficiency of the method.

Multi-objective Optimization of industrial Purified Terephthalic Acid Oxidation process

Multi-objective optimization of a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) oxidation unit is carried out in this paper by using a process modei that has been proved to describe industrial process quite well. The modei is a semi-empirical structured into two series ideal continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) models. The optimal objectives include maximizing the yield or inlet rate and minimizing the concentration of 4-carboxy-benzaldhyde, which is the main undesirable intermediate product in the reaction process. The multi-objective optimization algorithra applied in this study is non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ (NSGA-Ⅱ). The performance of NSGA-Ⅱ is further illustrated by application to the title process.

Fuzzy Neural Network Model of 4-CBA Concentration for industrial Purified Terephthalic Acid Oxidation process

A fuzzy neural network (FNN) model is developed to predict the 4-CBA concentration of the oxidation unit in purified terephthalic acid process. Several technologies are used to deal with the process data before ***,a set of preliminary input variables is selected according to prior knowledge and experience. Secondly,a method based on the maximum correlation coefficient is proposed to detect the dead time between the process variables and response variables. Finally, the fuzzy curve method is used to reduce the unimportant input *** simulation results based on industrial data show that the relative error range of the FNN model is narrower than that of the American Oil Company (AMOCO) model. Furthermore, the FNN model can predict the trend of the 4-CBA concentration more accurately.

Liveness Problem of Petri Nets Supervisory control Theory for Discrete Event Systems

A quite great progress of the supervisory control theory for discrete event systems (DES) has been made in the past nearly twenty years, and now, automata, formal language and Petri nets become the main research tools. This paper focus on the Petri nets based supervisory control theory of DES. Firstly, we review the research results in this field, and claim that there generally exists a problem in Petri nets based supervisory control theory of DES, that is, the deadlock caused by the controller introduced to enforce the given specification occurs in the closed-loop systems, especially the deadlock occurs in the closed-loop system in which the original plant is live. Finally, a possible research direction is presented for the solution of this problem.

Fuzzy Support Vector Regression Model of 4-CBA Concentration for industrial PTA Oxidation process

In the past few years,support vector machines(SVMs)have been applied to many fields,such as pattern recognition and data mining,*** there still exist some problems to be *** of them is that the SVM is very sensitive to outliers or noises because of over-fitting *** this paper,a fuzzy support vector regression(FSVR)method is presented to deal with this *** based on k nearest neighbor(kNN)and support vector data description(SVDD)are adopted to set the fuzzy membership values of data points in FSVR. The proposed FSVR soft sensor models based on kNN and SVDD are employed to predict the concentration of 4-carboxy-benzaldehyde(4-CBA)in purified terephthalic acid(PTA)oxidation *** results indicate that the proposed method indeed reduces the effect of outliers and yields higher accuracy.

Robust model predictive control for discrete uncertain nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy model

An extended robust model predictive control approach for input constrained discrete uncertain nonlinear systems with time-delay based on a class of uncertain T-S fuzzy models that satisfy sector bound condition is presented. In this approach, the minimization problem of the “worst-case” objective function is converted into the linear objective minimization problem in- volving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) constraints. The state feedback control law is obtained by solving convex optimization of a set of LMIs. Sufficient condition for stability and a new upper bound on robust performance index are given for these kinds of uncertain fuzzy systems with state time-delay. Simulation results of CSTR process show that the proposed robust predictive control approach is effective and feasible.

Sliding Mode control Design for a Class of Systems with Mismatched Uncertainties

A new sliding mode controller design method is proposed for a class of system with mis- matched uncertainties such that the dynamic function restricted on the sliding surface is completely insensitive to the uncertainties.A sufficient and necessary condition which the system possessing this sliding mode controller should satisfy is explicitly *** issue of chattering free is also *** is concluded that this class of mismatched term does not bring any chattering problem. Finally,a numerical example illustrates the developed method.

Predictive control of a class of bilinear systems based on global off-line models

A new multi-step adaptive predictive control algorithm for a class of bilinear systems is presented. The structure of the bilinear system is converted into a simple linear model by using nonlinear support vector machine (SVM) dynamic approximation with analytical control law derived. The method does not need on-line parameters estimation because the system’s internal model has been transformed into an off-line global model. Compared with other traditional methods, this control law reduces on-line parameter estimating burden. In addition, its overall linear behavior treating method allows an analytical control law available and avoids on-line nonlinear optimization. Simulation results are presented in the article to illustrate the efficiency of the method.
