Neuroinflammation mediated by microglia and oxidative stress play pivotal roles in the development of chronic temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE).We postulated that kainic acid(KA)-Induced status epilepticus triggers microglia-dependent inflammation,leading to neuronal damage,a lowered seizure threshold,and the emergence of spontaneous recurrent seizures(SRS).Extensive evidence from our laboratory suggests that dextromethorphan(DM),even in ultra-low doses,has anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects in many animal models of neurodegenerative *** results showed that administration of DM(10 ng/kg per day;subcutaneously via osmotic minipump for 4 weeks)significantly mitigated the residual effects of KA,including the frequency of SRS and seizure *** addition,DM-treated rats showed improved cognitive function and reduced hippocampal neuronal *** found suppressed microglial activation-mediated neuroinflammation and decreased expression of hippocampal gp91^(phox) and p47^(phox) proteins in KA-induced chronic TLE ***,even after discontinuation of DM treatment,ultra-low doses of DM continued to confer long-term anti-seizure and neuroprotective effects,which were attributed to the inhibition of microglial NADPH oxidase 2 as revealed by mechanistic studies.

The tilt of a Raman laser beam is a major systematic error in precision gravity measurement using atom *** conventional approach to evaluating this tilt error involves modulating the direction of the Raman laser beam and conducting time-consuming gravity measurements to identify the error *** this work,we demonstrate a method to expediently determine the tilt of the Raman laser beam by transforming the tilt angle measurement into characterization of parallelism,which integrates the optical method of aligning the laser direction,commonly used in freely falling corner-cube gravimeters,into an atom gravimeter.A position-sensing detector(PSD)is utilized to quantitatively characterize the parallelism between the test beam and the reference beam,thus measuring the tilt precisely and *** carefully positioning the PSD and calibrating the relationship between the distance measured by the PSD and the tilt angle measured by the tiltmeter,we achieved a statistical uncertainty of less than 30μrad in the tilt ***,we compared the results obtained through this optical method with those from the conventional tilt modulation method for gravity *** comparison validates that our optical method can achieve tilt determination with an accuracy level of better than 200μrad,corresponding to a systematic error of 20μGal in g *** work has practical implications for real-world applications of atom gravimeters.

Phase modulation of bcc-structured Fe35Mn25Al15Cr10Ni15 high-entropy alloy by interstitial carbon

High-entropy alloys （HEAs） usually contain more than five alloying elements. The ductility of a body-centered cubic （bcc）- type HEA typically is lower than that of their face-centered cubic （fcc） counterpart. And low ductility restricts engineering applications of the bcc-structured HEAs. In engineering materials, improvement in ductility usually results in deduction of mechanical strength. A method to improve both mechanical strength and ductility in a bcc-structured HEA was proposed by adding interstitial carbon. Experimental results showed that replacement of 5 at.% Cr with 5 at.% C in a bcc-structured Fe35Mn25Al15Cr10Ni15 HEA resulted in an increase in fcc phase from 0.3 to 93.7 vol.%. Strength and ductility increased at the same time. The transition of bcc-structure to fcc-structure along with a remaining small amount of bcc phase improved mechanical properties. This work indicates that interstitial carbon can be employed to modulate the fraction of constituent phases in a bcc-structured HEA to enhance engineering mechanical properties.

A single-mask dry-release process for fabrication of high aspect ratio SOI MEMS devices is presented,which takes advantage of the lag effect in silicon DRIE(deep reactive ion etching).The wide trenches and the releasing holes are etched to the buried oxide in the first-step DRIE whereas the narrow trenches are still connected due to the lag *** the buried oxide is removed by wet etching through the opened releasing holes and wide trenches,the narrow trenches are etched through by the second-step *** only can the sticking problems be avoided,but also the footing effect during the DRIE can be partially *** feasibility of the proposed technique was verified by implementing a capacitive *** scale factor and the non-linearity of the fabricated accelerometer were measured to be 63.4 mV/g and 0.1% with the measurement range of ±1 g,respectively.

Using entanglement swapping of high-level Bell states, we first derive a covert layer between the secret message and the possible output results of the entanglement swapping between any two generalized Bell states, and then propose a novel high-efficiency quantum information hiding protocol based on the covert layer. In the proposed scheme, a covert channel can be built up under the cover of a high-level quantum secure direct communication （QSDC） channel for securely transmitting secret messages without consuming any auxiliary quantum state or any extra communication resource. It is shown that this protocol not only has a high embedding efficiency but also achieves a good imperceptibility as well as a high security.

Introduction:The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)Omicron variant is the dominant circulating strain *** assess the importation of SARS-CoV-2 variants in the mainland of China during the Omicron epidemic,the genomic surveillance data of SARS-CoV-2 from imported coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)cases in the mainland of China during the first half of 2022 were ***:Sequences submitted from January to July 2022,with a collection date before June 30,2022,were *** proportions of SARS-CoV-2 variants as well as the relationships between the origin and destination of each Omicron imported case were ***:4,946 sequences of imported cases were submitted from 27 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs),and the median submission interval was within 1 month after *** 3,851 Omicron sequences with good quality,1 recombinant(XU)and 4 subvariants under monitoring(BA.4,BA.5,BA.2.12.1,and BA.2.13)were recorded,and 3 of them(BA.4,BA.5,and BA.2.12.1)caused local transmissions in the mainland of China later than that recorded in the *** subvariants dominated in the first half of 2022 and shifted from BA.1 to BA.2 then to BA.4 and *** percentage of BA.2 in the imported SARS-CoV-2 surveillance data was far higher than that in the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data(GISAID).The imported cases from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,China,accounted for 32.30%of Omicron cases sampled,and 98.71%of them were ***:The Omicron variant showed the intra-Omicron evolution in the first half of 2022,and all of the Omicron subvariants were introduced into the mainland of China multiple times from multiple different locations.
