Polymorphism of P66 in Borrelia Burgdorferi Strains in China

Objective To study the polymorphism in P66 and its human B-cell epitopes of Borrelia burgdorferi strains in *** Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and sequencing were used to obtain the P66 sequences of59 chinese *** the sequences were analyzed by MEGA 5.10 software and compared with the human B-cell epitope sequences from the Immune Epitope Database(IEDB)based on the reference strain of each *** Results showed that genetic and amino acid diversity presented in the 66 kD protein of all 59 chinese strains,especially in Borrelia garinii(B.g)and Borrelia afzelii(B.a)strains.B.g strains were divided into three subclusters and two scattered strains JC1-7 and JC2-2 according to the amino acid sequences of *** P66 sequences of 15 Xinjiang strains represented by XI91-12 in the B.g subcluster1,changed from CAA to TAA codon at 508 aa position,resulting in early *** A and C were inserted at sequence position 1523 bp of strains FP1,LB20,LB21,and SZ21 in the B.a genotype,which resulted to early termination at position 511 aa.G base was inserted at 438 bp of LIP94-11 strain,which led to early termination at position 172 *** In P66 of 59 chinese strains,polymorphisms were widely *** importantly,the P66 amino acid sequences of B.g strains had a certain regional *** of the characteristics of Xinjiang B.g isolates might be the variation at the 508 aa location in 15 Xinjiang B.g strains,which may be related to the strains’pathogenicity in this area.

Arcobacter is an emerging foodborne pathogen *** this study,the prevalence,antimicrobial susceptibility and genetic characteristics of Arcobacter from different sources were *** *** isolates were obtained from 60 raw chicken meat samples(16/60,27%)and 150 patients with diarrhea(2/150,1.3%).The resistance ratios to nalidixic acid,ciprofloxacin,clindamycin,chloramphenicol,and florfenicol were 83.33%(15/18),38.89%(7/18),38.89%(7/18),33.33%(6/18)and 33.33%(6/18),*** performed whole genome sequencing of the 18 isolates,and we predicted antibiotic resistance genes and virulence factors by using assembled genomes through blastx *** resistance genes,blaOXA-464 and tet(H),and the C254T mutation in gyrA,were identified in the genomes of some resistant ***,virulence genes,such as flgG,flhA,flhB,fliI,fliP,motA,cadF,cjl349,ciaB,mviN,pldA and tlyA,were found in all strains,whereas hecA,hecB and iroE were found in only some *** tree analysis of *** isolates on the basis of the core-genome single nucleotide polymorphisms showed that two isolates from patients with diarrhea clustered together,separately from the isolates from raw chicken and the chicken *** study is the first comprehensive analysis of Arcobacter isolated in Beijing.

Introduction:In 2017,no indigenous malaria cases were reported in China,but imported malaria was a challenge for the elimination *** study analyzed the status and trends of imported malaria in China from 2012 to 2018 to provide evidence for further strategies and adjustments to current ***:Data on individuals were collected from the parasitic diseases Information Reporting Management System(PDIRMS)from 2012 to *** species,case classification,temporal distribution,spatial distribution,and source of imported cases were analyzed to investigate imported malaria ***:In total,21,376 malaria cases were recorded in the PDIRMS from 2012 to *** them,20,938(98.0%)cases were imported malaria cases(IMCs).The number and proportion of IMCs increased from 2012(n=2,474,91.0%)to 2018(n=2,511,99.7%).IMCs consisted of 13,510(64.5%)***,4,803(22.9%)***,1,725(8.2%)***,376(1.8%)***,2(0.01%)***,348(1.7%)mixed infections,and 174(0.8%)clinically-diagnosed *** proportion of imported *** cases increased from 2012(n=1403,57.4%)to 2018(n=1655,66.0%),while imported *** cases showed a decreasing trend from 2012(n=901,43.7%)to 2018(n=352,14.0%).IMCs were mainly reported in Yunnan(n=2,922,14.0%),Guangxi(n=2,827,13.5%),and Jiangsu(2,067,9.9%).IMCs were reported throughout the entire year,and the highest number of IMCs was reported in June *** originated from 67 countries from 4 continents,and the largest proportion were from Myanmar(n=3,081,14.7%)and Ghana(n=2,704,12.9%).Conclusion and Implications for Public Health Practice:The total number of IMCs increased in ***,two actions are needed to continue the elimination of malaria in China:prevent reestablishment caused by imported *** because Anopheles sinensis is still widely distributed;and ensure timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment to avoid fatal cases caused by imported ***.

A field investigation of arboviruses was conducted in Dejiang, Guizhou Province in the summer of 2016. A total of 8,795 mosquitoes, belonging to four species of three genera, and 1,300 midges were collected. The mosquito samples were identified on site according to their morphology, and the pooled samples were ground and centrifuged in the laboratory. The supernatant was incubated with mosquito tissue culture cells(C6/36) and mammalian cells(BHK-21) for virus isolation. The results indicated that 40%(3,540/8,795) were Anopheles sinensis, 30%(2,700/8,795) were Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus, and 29%(2,530/8,795)were Armigeres subbalbeatus. Furthermore, a total of eight virus isolates were obtained, and genome sequencing revealed two Zika viruses(ZIKVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Armigeres subbalbeatus, respectively; three Japanese encephalitis viruses(JEVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus; two Banna viruses(BAVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Anopheles sinensis, respectively; and one densovirus(DNV) isolated from Culex pipiens *** ZIKVs isolated from the Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Armigeres subbalbeatus mosquitoes represent the first ZIKV isolates in China's Mainland. This discovery presents new challenges for the prevention and control of ZIKV in China, and prompts international cooperation on this global issue.

Many viruses can cause respiratory diseases in *** great advances have been achieved in methods of diagnosis,it remains challenging to identify pathogens in unexplained pneumonia(UP) *** this study,we applied next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology and a metagenomic approach to detect and characterize respiratory viruses in UP cases from Guizhou Province,China.A total of 33 oropharyngeal swabs were obtained from hospitalized UP patients and subjected to *** unbiased metagenomic analysis pipeline identified 13 virus species in 16 *** rhinovirus C was the virus most frequently detected and was identified in seven *** measles virus,adenovirus B 55 and coxsackievirus A10 were also *** sequencing also provided virus genomic sequences,which enabled genotype characterization and phylogenetic *** cases of multiple infection,metagenomic sequencing afforded information regarding the quantity of each virus in the sample,which could be used to evaluate each viruses' role in the *** study highlights the potential of metagenomic sequencing for pathogen identification in UP cases.
