High-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum beam emitter with an internally sensed optical phased array

The high-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum(OAM)beam has attracted significant attention in a wide range of applications,such as long-distance optical communication,nonlinear frequency conversion,and beam *** beam combining(CBC)of an optical phased array(OPA)can offer a promising solution for both generating the high-power OAM beam and rapidly switching the OAM ***,achieving real-time phase noise locking and formation of desired phase structures in a high-power CBC system faces significant ***,an internal phase-sensing technique was utilized to generate the high-power OAM beam,which effectively mitigated thermal effects and eliminated the need for large optical *** OPA with six elements was employed for experimental *** first effective generation of over 1.5 kW mode-programmable OAM beam in a continuous-wave domain was ***,the results demonstrated that the generated OAM beam could be modulated with multiple *** topological charge can be switched in real time from-1 ***,this OAM beam emitter could function as an OAM beam copier by easily transforming a single OAM beam into an OAM beam *** importantly,a comprehensive analysis was conducted on power scaling,mode switching speed,and expansion of OAM ***,the system’s compact design enabled it to function as a packageable OAM beam *** to the advantages of having high power and programmable modes with multiple dimension modulation in phase structures and intensity distribution,this work can pave the way for producing high-power structured light beams and advancing their applications.

A 2×3 kW-level bidirectional output fiber oscillator is realized by combining the specially designed spindle-shaped ytterbium-doped fiber,non-wavelength-stabilized 976-nm LDs,and grating bandwidth optimization to balance transverse mode instability and stimulated Raman *** maximum output powers at both ends are 3265 and 2840 W,respectively,with a total efficiency of 73.2%.The M^(2) factors of the lasers at both ends are about 1.98 and 2.38,*** beam profile at both ends shows that a bidirectional output annular beam fiber oscillator has been realized,which has great potential in practical applications.

Comparison of commercial silicon-based anode materials for the design of a high-energy lithium-ion battery

Silicon(Si)is considered a potential alternative anode for next-generation Li-ion batteries owing to its high theoretical capacity and ***,the commercial use of Si anodes is hindered by their large volume expansion(~300%).Numerous efforts have been made to address this *** these efforts,Si-graphite co-utilization has attracted attention as a reasonable alternative for high-energy anodes.A comparative study of representative commercial Si-based materials,such as Si nanoparticles,Si suboxides,and Si−Graphite composites(SiGC),was conducted to characterize their overall performance in high-energy lithium-ion battery(LIB)design by incorporating conventional ***-Si was found to exhibit poor electrochemical performance,with severe volume expansion during *** suboxide provided excellent cycling stability in a full-cell evaluation with stable volume variation after 50 cycles,but had a large irreversible capacity and remarkable volume expansion during the first *** displayed a good initial Coulombic efficiency and the lowest volume change in the first cycle owing to the uniformly distributed nano-Si layer on graphite;however,its long-term cycling stability was relatively *** complement each disadvantage of Si suboxide and SiGC,a new combination of these Si-based anodes was suggested and a reasonable improvement in overall battery performance was successfully achieved.

Fault Estimation for a Class of Markov Jump Piecewise-Affine Systems: Current Feedback Based Iterative Learning Approach

In this paper, the issues of stochastic stability analysis and fault estimation are investigated for a class of continuoustime Markov jump piecewise-affine(PWA) systems against actuator and sensor faults. Firstly, a novel mode-dependent PWA iterative learning observer with current feedback is designed to estimate the system states and faults, simultaneously, which contains both the previous iteration information and the current feedback mechanism. The auxiliary feedback channel optimizes the response speed of the observer, therefore the estimation error would converge to zero rapidly. Then, sufficient conditions for stochastic stability with guaranteed performance are demonstrated for the estimation error system, and the equivalence relations between the system information and the estimated information can be established via iterative accumulating ***, two illustrative examples containing a class of tunnel diode circuit systems are presented to fully demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed iterative learning observer with current feedback.

Evaluating Performance of Different RNA Secondary Structure Prediction Programs Using Self-cleaving Ribozymes

Accurate identification of the correct,biologically relevant RNA structures is critical to understanding various aspects of RNA biology since proper folding represents the key to the functionality of all types of RNA molecules and plays pivotal roles in many essential biological ***,a plethora of approaches have been developed to predict,identify,or solve RNA structures based on various computational,molecular,genetic,chemical,or physicochemical *** computational approaches hold distinct advantages over all other strategies in terms of the ease of implementation,time,speed,cost,and throughput,but they strongly underperform in terms of accuracy that significantly limits their broader ***,the advantages of these methods led to a steady development of multiple in silico RNA secondary structure prediction approaches including recent deep learning-based ***,we compared the accuracy of predictions of biologically relevant secondary structures of dozens of self-cleaving ribozyme sequences using seven in silico RNA folding prediction tools with tasks of varying *** found that while many programs performed well in relatively simple tasks,their performance varied significantly in more complex RNA folding ***,in general,a modern deep learning method outperformed the other programs in the complex tasks in predicting the RNA secondary structures,at least based on the specific class of sequences tested,suggesting that it may represent the future of RNA structure prediction algorithms.

ESR2–HDA6 complex negatively regulates auxin biosynthesis to delay callus initiation in Arabidopsis leaf explants during tissue culture

Plants exhibit an astonishing ability to regulate organ regeneration upon *** of leaf explants promotes the biosynthesis of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA),which is polar-transported to excised regions,where cell fate transition leads to root founder cell specification to induce de novo root *** regeneration capacity of plants has been utilized to develop in vitro tissue culture ***,we report that IAA accumulation near the wounded site of leaf explants is essential for callus formation on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D)-rich callus-inducing medium(CIM).Notably,a high concentration of 2,4-D does not compensate for the action of IAA because of its limited efflux;rather,it lowers IAA biosynthesis via a negative feedback mechanism at an early stage of in vitro tissue culture,delaying callus *** auxin negative feedback loop in CIM-cultured leaf explants is mediated by an auxin-inducible APETALA2 transcription factor,ENHANCER OF SHOOT REGENERATION 2(ESR2),along with its interacting partner HISTONE DEACETYLASE 6(HDA6).The ESR2–HDA6 complex binds directly to,and removes the H3ac mark from,the YUCCA1(YUC1),YUC7,and YUC9 loci,consequently repressing auxin biosynthesis and inhibiting cell fate transition on 2,4-D-rich *** findings indicate that negative feedback regulation of auxin biosynthesis by ESR2 and HDA6 interferes with proper cell fate transition and callus initiation.

The metal-organic framework(MOF)derived Ni–Co–C–N composite alloys(NiCCZ)were“embedded”inside the carbon cloth(CC)strands as opposed to the popular idea of growing them upward to realize ultrastable energy storage and conversion *** NiCCZ was then oxygen functionalized,facilitating the next step of stoichiometric sulfur anion diffusion during hydrothermal sulfurization,generating a flower-like metal hydroxysulfide structure(NiCCZOS)with strong partial implantation inside *** obtained NiCCZOS shows an excellent capacity when tested as a supercapacitor electrode in a three-electrode ***,when paired with the biomass-derived nitrogen-rich activated carbon,the asymmetric supercapacitor device shows almost 100%capacity retention even after 45,000 charge–discharge cycles with remarkable energy density(59.4 Wh kg^(-1)/263.8μWh cm^(–2))owing to a uniquely designed ***,the same electrode performed as an excellent bifunctional water-splitting electrocatalyst with an overpotential of 271 mV for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and 168.4 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)at 10 mA cm−2 current density along with 30 h of unhinged chronopotentiometric stability performance for both HER and ***,a unique metal chalcogenide composite electrode/substrate configuration has been proposed as a highly stable electrode material for flexible energy storage and conversion applications.

The learning curve for transurethral enucleation with bipolar energy for benign prostate hyperplasia:a single-surgeon experience of 494 patients

This study was performed to investigate the learning curve of transurethral enucleation with bipolar energy(TUEB)for benignprostatic *** study involved 494 consecutive patients who underwent TUEB for benign prostatic hyperplasia fromAugust 2018 to March 2022 by one surgeon(SJJ,Seoul national university Bundang Hospital,Seongnam,Korea).The patientswere followed up at 1 week,1 month,3 months,and 6 months *** evaluate the learning curve of TUEB,perioperativeparameters including the enucleation ratio(enucleated tissue weight/transitional zone volume),TUEB efficiency(enucleatedtissue weight/operation time),and enucleation efficiency(enucleated tissue weight/enucleation time)were *** and postoperative complications were also assessed,including the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),IPSSquality-of-life(QoL)score,and uroflowmetry *** patients’median age was 72(interquartile range[IQR]:66–78)years,and the estimated prostate volume and transitional zone volume were 63.0(IQR:46.0–90.6)ml and 37.1(IQR:24.0–60.0)ml,*** enucleation ratio,TUEB efficiency,and enucleation efficiency were 0.60(IQR:0.46–0.54)g ml−1,0.33(IQR:0.22–0.46)g min−1,and 0.50(IQR:0.35–0.72)g min−1,respectively,plateauing after 70 *** functional outcomes,including total IPSS,IPSS QoL score,and uroflowmetry outcomes,significantly improved at 6 months after TUEB(all P<0.05),but without significant differences over the learning ***-five(13.2%)patients developed complications after TUEB,21.5%of whom experienced major complications(Clavien–Dindo grade≥3).The rate of major complications declined as the number ofTUEB cases increased(P=0.013).Our results suggest that the efficiency of TUEB stabilized within 70 procedures.
